Having a normal one ⭐
⭐ The Little Prince and His Rose 🌹
Clay, plasticine and digital illustration
I always adored the Little Prince story, my favorite childhood book ever, and I always wanted to make some kind of fanart or anything like it. And nothing like feeling like a child again as playing with clay.
So we started!
First I wanted to find the right mix of skin tone and clothing, his green suit has a very particular tone and I mixed it as best as I could to get to the tone in the original cover illustration. Then I made the little skeleton with mixed plasticine.
Then I started posing and creating the little boy.
The arms came out too large, and the head too small. Also, I didn't like how the face was turning out. So I made some fixing ups here and there. And then, the absolute process of doing the hair.
We got the little kid! So now it was time for the rose and the dome. I knew the rose was going to be tricky, it can't easily stand on its own because of the stem, so I made it as a 2D piece. And of course, the rest of the flowing scarf, which I posed in three ways to have it animated. The scarf is also a very particular tone of orange, mixing more of yellow into it.
Now we got all elements, we took the pics and started collaging them into the space. Then, we got a quick sketch before painting.
And then we start painting on the basic elements, like the planet and the little volcano, and the crystal dome for the rose.
Next is space crazyness!
And we end up finishing with lights and shadows painted on that help in blending the clay much more with the background. And the beautiful text teaching of the entire story.
The animation was done all on After Effects, with a special frame skipping to emulate a bit of stop-motion kind of effect. And that's how we finish!
Thanks for your attention!
And remember, always open for collabs and commissions! Have a great day ⭐
Gnome In Fairytale ✨
Clay/Plasticine and Digital Illustration
Making Of - Sculpting
I always adored playing with clay and plasticine when I was a kid. They were my toys, and I used to make figures of my pets and whatever was in books and tv shows. Plasticine eventually was replaced with drawing, but I always had a soft spot for it. It's been literally years since I made a complete clay figure. And it was like riding a bike, I never forgot it.
My mind was so occupied with doing it from start to finish, that I automatically didn't pay attention to if it looked good or not, I just wanted to do it. I felt like a child again. I loved it so much. I think I wanna keep doing these mixed pieces again.
Making Of - Digital Drawing Background.
In this one, I really REALLY had to trust the process (I didn't), because the cognitive dissonance of a clay figure in a digital background didn't help me at all to "see" the final thing until it was actually finished. It just looked like it was pasted in there, it looked terrible.
Luckily, as soon as I was close to finishing it, I started seeing it, and I found it endearing. Like an actor playing a character in a play, and the background is the stage. And, when it was done, I finally saw it. Not quite like I wanted to see it, but it was good enough for me.

Gnome Town.
I've always loved fantasy, and gnomes, and I would love to paint/draw a gnome themed book/comic.
Been taking a break from drawing for work related burning out and personal reasons, but I'm back in the saddle (lmao), drawing a third story to a fantasy western comic story I've been working on for a couple of years
