Burning or yearning?
Together we sit Existing in time At the dinner table You nibble at the daylight Wanting to savour every moment Warmingly chewing each crumb Every bite as eventful as the next Making time to speak in between I gulp down the night Trying to cool down from your radiance Smothering myself in lights In aims of one day shining like you Now I have moonlight on my tongue The dark liquid filling me with a hunger You take a sip of the sunset Warm, yet cooling on my bones soothing after the long day Lips around the orange hue of my wanting Of you I finally bite into the sunrise Allowing myself to warm Red faced I peak at your lips Pink. both of us I sit up straight and you lean in And for a moment There were two suns glowing Both burning at the dinner table
