especially during the tower of heaven-

he just loves her so god damn much

and you can tell that isn't him questioning or commenting on her strength, he just wants to support and protect her because he knows she needs it, better than anyone

Aahh! Yes, I really love Grayza! Actually, when I first watched the series, I thought they were going to be each other's love interests (until Juvia and Jellal got introduced fucking unfortunately). The way they interacted was so soft, and like... it was clear they knew a lot more about each other than canon let on at first

But also just, regarding personalities, Gray is one of the few people who can actually get through to Erza and vice versa, they both need that. Gray needs someone to put him first (and teach him how to put himself first), and Erza needs someone who isn't going to idolize her, which Gray doesn't. And obviously, neither of them get this from their respective love interests. Juvia is always demanding Gray put her interests and wants above his own, and Jellal does nothing but idolize Erza, because he sees her as his salvation.

So in my opinion, when it comes to who is best for them in the long run, who is going to make them happy, and content, it's definitely each other. They can relax around one another, they never have to worry about not being enough which they have to in their dynamics with so many other characters.

Gray and Erza both need someone simple, which they can get from each other, which is just one reason I really love them together

A Thank-you note, from Artku

My Grayza journey started in maybe 2010. The first season of Fairy Tail aired on Animax. From the moment Gray looked down at Erza from that automobile roof in The Armoured Mage: I knew. This was my ship. Well, that season finished at Fantasia and I went on my merry way, confident Grayza would be fine. Ready for me when I picked up Fairy Tail again. As it happened, that was last year. What. A. Rude. Awakening. Starved of the ship I had nursed for nearly ten years, I turned to the obvious solution. Fanfiction. That was what lead me here. To the Grayza Fanzine.

I can't start a thank you note without mentioning Scribblery/@ahundredgyozas . You replied to my review of your ages old fic with news of the Grayza Fanzine, encouraging me to e-mail the mods even though I missed the deadline.

I was honestly thrilled when Mod Erza's reply pinged into my inbox.  I had expected to be turned away, told I was too new to join in the fandom's swan song. 'Who does she think she is?' I never thought I'd be so warmly welcomed or so avidly encouraged.

Being a part of this zine made me really happy. I want to thank everyone involved in it for letting me be a part of this journey with you. Thank you Mod Erza and Mod Gray, for your regular check ins and for beta-ing my work. You gave me something to be excited about when life was kinda sad.

A special thank you as well to Sou (@becausewhenyoupracticeyouimprove), @gaymirajane , prestocrayon (@always-needing-to-be-saved) and @watcher-ofthe-sky . Idk if it was deliberate, that your art and edits appeared next to my stories; but they were so amazing! They complemented each other perfectly. I'm always so uwu when I look at those pages. You all rock!

To all the various mods (Sorry @ahumanintraining , I know I caused you some trouble in the final weeks. You are the best!), the writers, the artists - you have been more wonderful than words can express.  I'm so proud my content gets to stand next to yours. 

Thank you for making this zine. Thank you for showing the 15 year old girl who started this journey all those years ago that there is a life beyond the canon. Thank you, for filling my life with Grayza. :)

Your art style is amazing. The choice of colours and contrast between them really makes them stand out and pleasing to the eye. I just found your blog today, and in less than 5 minutes, I've become a fan. If you still do requests, may I suggest one of gray X erza telling people that relationships can be hard, but working at it is satisfying? If not, I still wanna thank you for everything you've done, and want to be your friend :3
