can i just saw about the whole range rover thing (i know i'm a bit late, but haven't been on tumblr in a couple of days) i went to a private school, where a lot of kids were well off, and even then, a lot of my friends/classmates didn't have brand new range rovers. many would paid half, and the parents would pay the other, or they would match whatever they earned, or they would share with their siblings. so getting brand new cars isn't just a "rich person" thing either

i can’t help myself, i’m trying to ignore this situation but tbh even if they did suddenly have the money, maybe they should’ve donated it to families that are struggling with the same treatments jaycee needed, or a scholarship for young dancers whose families can’t afford to pay for excessive training (aka literally most people). it just bugs me that they’d do a go fund me for her treatment but not also try to continue fundraising and donating to other families since they have the platform

i went to private school for sixth form and was surrounded by rich kids (i got in on scholarships). one of them was an absolute idiot and got a brand new top of the range car. within a month, she'd crashed it into a ditch and it was a write off. one week later, she had another brand new one. and what happened? you can guess. it's so dumb to give new drivers these cars because the conclusion is so obvious.

Who was tricked? How do you know they were tricked? If the money raised was for medical bills and the Wilkins used their PERSONAL funds for a car, at what point where any of the terms of the implied contract broken? The point of the fundraiser was probably because they couldn’t afford everything at once and it was piling on them, not to pay for everything because the Wilkins probably paid for a lot out of pocket even BEFORE they started any fundraising and are probably still paying. I’m happy they’re able to get back on their feet and get their daughter a nice gift.

One thing that I found weird was a few weeks after one of Jaycee’s surgeries her family went on vacation to Mexico, and a few weeks after that they went to Paris. Unless they were traveling for medical reasons, those seem like expensive luxuries that could have been easily sacrificed to pay for medical things instead of begging fans for money.

If my kid was getting a hip replacement after two years of surgeries and fixators I’d probably try and make their life easier/happier any way I could. The medical expenses have definitely added up to way more than whatever the original gofundme was for (that was when she was going to Florida the first time but she ended up having to go back to Florida and go to Europe a couple times as well). Both of the Wilkins kids always seem grateful for what they get so I really don’t think it’s any of our business to tell them how they should be using their money.

Yes, but what I was trying to say is that the $25,000 they’ve taken is just a fraction of what they have had to pay total as far as medical bills and travel. In the US a hip replacement, on average, costs $39,299 so that one treatment alone costs more than what they received through the gofundme. She’s also had multiple surgeries in Florida and Europe. They aren’t using other people’s money to finance their vacations or buy their daughter a car. I personally don’t see anything wrong with people wanting to help a child and her family out with medical costs, even if the family might’ve been able to pay for it out of pocket.

Ok, I think we have different opinions on this and that’s fine. The Wilkins did not start the fundraiser, Tate did. Like I’ve said before, the amount that was raised is minimal when taking overall cost into account and I don’t find that “unethical” but obviously you do which is your opinion and that’s completely valid. The Wilkins never begged people to give them money and if you’d donating you should at least do minimal research before hand. It’s not shocking that the Wilkins have a decent amount of money, Jaycee has been able to compete across the country for many years and they have a clearly successful business. A lot of the money donated came from close friends of the Wilkins family so they obviously knew them well and knew their financial standing. As I’ve stated before this doesn’t rub me the wrong way and if it does rub you the wrong way I’m very sorry but I don’t think there’s a need to make it this big of a deal.

probably extra but at my studio there isn’t a specific age that you have to be to start pointe but if you have the technique and you wanna start you have to get an X-ray to make sure you’re growth plates are closed and they won’t let you start otherwise

Please stop spreading this. The only proven items of the above accusations is that the mom had two pictures including a confederate flag. One of those pictures also included an american flag which is what the bullied child was holding ( not the confederate flag). You can’t just make this stuff up that he was bullied because he called someone racial slurs. You can’t just speculate that. That’s a horrible despicable thing to do, so you don’t just get to say he did that. ESPECIALLY when the only evidence we know is that kids at school made fun of his speech impediment and his physical attributes. It depends on how strong her legs, ankles, and feet are, not your age. I’m sure her teachers are responsible enough to know if she was ready. Her technique is excellent for her age, so I’m sure she was. She probably was just over rehearsing in her pointe shoes.

i'm a student radiographer so i know a thing or two about bone development seeing as i scan and xray every day, and we have to know everything about anatomy. at 9, your growth plates in your feet (and in most of your body actually) are nowhere near fused. even at the age of 18, some people still have unfused growth plates. so 9 is way too young. the plates in the feet do not fuse until a few years later, so allowing her to do pointe is ridiculous at that age from an anatomical perspective.

So…..visiting a criminal in jail qualified for your “best day ever” list Ari? Unless you are Kelly Hyland, Christi, or a dance moms producer, I doubt it. Also, the photo her mom used to kiss Abby’s ass from behind bars is old. Therefore, it’s still a mystery on how Abby looks now that her fake tan is washed off and her weight loss surgery should be in high gear.
