We all have clothes that we never found an occasion to wear, and Jade would transform a worn old tassel dress into a classy Christmas tree costume. This was a very clever idea, she thought, and she was proud of herself for being so thrify and inventive.

When she finished decorating the dress with glitter and baubles, and tried it on in front of a mirror…

“I… I look like what would happen if the Grinch had sex with a clown…..”

Hearing this, her team members do their best to maintain poker faces and assure her that she looks lovely. She doesn’t quite believe them, but she reluctantly goes ahead and wears the green monstrosity.

Maybe she’ll at least get a giggle out of the Heroine.

Let's see, here's our breakdown of facial-haired love interests (plus the DLC love interests) versus smooth-faced:

Alanna: A beard is not congruent with her gender identity. Meissa: A beard is not congruent with their gender identity. Will: Beards are his brother’s thing. Also, his doesn’t grow in very well.

Gui: Might consider a Very Aesthetic sexy goatee. Robin: His smooth-facedness was my decision in order to set him apart from the legions of goateed Robin Hoods.

John: He’d shave especially if his lover enjoyed a smooth face, but I think his facial hair is sexy as heck, so he keeps it. Mystery Unrevealed DLC Love Interest: Will probably both be shaved and unshaven in his route, so I guess I’ve revealed his gender now.

Geoff: I’ve seen him without a beard. It doesn’t look right. Also, are you going to ask him to shave? Layton (Tuck): And remove part of his rugged handsomeness? OK, fine, he really can’t be arsed.

To content creators: I know it is hard. Triple times harder for us who do the full studio work alone. And triple that for us who want to create games with diverse characters and worlds. But don’t forget why you got into this- your story is an important part of your heart. Join communities that support you and keep you going in the tough times. And even when that doesn’t seem like enough, let your stories and characters be your light.

To supporters: sometimes it is tough for me to trudge through this. But don’t worry. I may have seemed quiet, but I’m still in the game. As for those of you who are out there and supporting several projects and game developers (or even many more), don’t give up on us! We trudge on trying to bring the best game experience we can with what we’ve got. It may not be perfect, but at least most of us are making games we believe in. Games we want to play and share with others to enjoy equally. Don’t ever think your support is not needed! Sometimes knowing someone believes in us is all that keeps us going.

So I just saw Wynter in the demo and I have to ask? Is he a LI/DLC candidate because he is so fine ajdbhdjsnkskndvhsshksosg why is he so hot!???

He is not, at this point, planned to be a datable character. He was created by one of our KS backers so you can blame Kimmi for him being too hot.

(To be fair, my principle as a dev is also to make *everyone* hot. Mwa ha ha!)

Redoing the whole code of Anoldor

If you follow the update, you know that from the past few months I am struggling with a bug with the english translation. I tried EVERYTHING, I asked help from several people we weren’t able to even identify the reason for the bug.

So I am redoing the whole code from scratch to make sure to not replicate it.

I have progressed a lot since I started programming Anoldor, so I try to see this necessity as an opportunity to make a cleaner and more efficient code ! I thought it would be cool to make some day to day updates about my progress, so here we are !

Today, I upload again all the background image with a few improvement :

- I changed the resolution of the project (1280*720 to 1920*1080) the bigger the better /DIE/

- I optimized the size of the file by going from .png to .webp (1 MO saved by image with no quality loss…)

- Before I had two images (one with the good size, and one twice the size for zooming and other effects.), now I use some code to resize the big image by default without losing quality when I zoom.

- Also I organized my files better >.>

Question, when the game releases is there a route order?

I’d recommend playing Ceres’s route first because it contains the least amount of spoilers! Plus there are events in Ceres’s route the player will only encounter if his route is first! :D However, if you’re a player who doesn’t particularly mind that, go ahead and play Ise’s route first. Keep in mind, that due to the cross-play content in isekai, scenes in Ceres’s route will change significantly if Ise is the first route.

Hello Folks!! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Another small update today just showing everyone the Release Date section in the main game details. It’s pretty straight forwards.

You use a date picker to pick the release date of your game. If you leave this date blank then the Release Date automatically sets to TBA. (To Be Announced)

Complex and Game art commissions

Aside from my emergency priced normal commission sheet- I wanted to go into the art that I draw that is either more complex or for more complex situations than just a one time commission or a digital painting made for personal use. I am opening my services for half body sprite art and watercolor/gauche style background art. (at this time I do not have approved background art that I can use for my portfolio- will update asap)

I am also opening commissions for more complex art styles such as stylized paint techniques and semi-realism art styles. Though this is not art I will do for game art such as sprites and CGs, I also feel like it should be definitely separate from my main commission sheet art, as the pricing is more unique to each commission versus a blanket price model.

It took a while to come up with two distinct styles that I knew I could draw consistently and with multiple expressions. Each sprite style will include 10 expressions per sprite. This however, does not include clothing/hairstyle/pose variations. Hair/clothing variations start at $10 per outfit/hairstyle per sprite and poses are an additional $20 per sprite- each new pose will include the base 10 expressions. Additional expressions are $5 each after the initial base ten. I don’t mind assisting with character design. Women, men, elderly and children, as well as plushies and pets can be designed as sprites. I don’t draw highly detailed mecha or furries as these are not my strengths.

Not all scenes are CGs, but for those who are looking to make games that feature CGs, here are a few of the styles I have previously drawn scenes in. If I draw the sprites, I can be sure to provide the consistency to draw the same characters from various angles in various situations and lighting to retain that consistency in your projects. CGs usually range anywhere from $80 to $150 depending on style, detail and complexity.

About Game Art:

Game art and commission work for projects that may be commercial have different terms of use. If I am creating a piece that will be for commercial use, we must go into contract and need to discuss terms we both can agree on such as signage and the like. Also, game art commissions are not the same as one off art pieces for promotional purposes. Please be sure to contact me direct message if you are interested in a game art commission.

Semi-realism art can be very stylized and/or very detailed. So because it can very so much, price is tbd based on the individual project.

I really don't know what's next? I think in the spirit of the work and love that went into this comm sheet and the kindness I've been shown- I'm going to leave these prices as is. Possibly until the end of the year.

I absolutely am dying of nervousness as I write this. 2020 has been a hard year on everyone. So I don’t expect anyone to be shocked that it has been a difficult year for me as well. I have been through the wringer- but I’ve kept myself as busy as I could with building my two main visual novel projects, The Closet Door and Sunset Memory Sunrise Promise. That’s where my passion has been these days.

Of the $500 I was short a few days ago- I am proud to say that I’ve been commissioned and completed enough commissions to bring my dept down to $0! So I am thankful for all those angels who commissioned me in my time of need- and as well, I love the work I’ve done for them!

I’m sharing my emergency commission sheet with you, with pricing discounted so that I can quickly complete any work you need, and in turn if commissioned by you I can possibly make enough to save my roof over my head as well as over my son’s. We work- but don’t get paid in time to beat the five day deadline. So I’m truly at the mercy of those who would take a chance on my talent as well as on me.

I call this special sheet below same day guarantee, because these are default styles that I can complete rather fast. Each of these images were completed in between 15 minutes to an hour. I consider any background in these styles minimal, as I usually use template brushes or simple watercolors to complete them. It is still imperative that you be available and clear and communicative for this to work, however- if I don’t know what to draw, I can’t get it to you fast!

Guys, it would mean the world to me to be able to stay in my place. Arizona is no place to be homeless, and though I’ve done it before- never here and never in a world wrought by a pandemic. I’ll be glad to take on your project! I’ve got great references and I have yet to ghost on a project.

Tuff n Pretty

I am catching up on all the things!~

This week has been a wake up call to get my act in gear! I hate being behind schedule, so I’m ramping up working on the demo update for TCD. My good friend Scope Creep has been helping by supervising my work the entire time, so it’s definitely been a trip! I’m not gonna lie- the guy’s got some great suggestions! But he’s lazy and leaves the execution to me 100% of the time. DX

Scope Creep gives his stamp of approval.

I also have been dabbling with a new and more polished logo design for TCD! Right now I’m in Inkscape, a free to use opensource vector program making the initial design into a non-pixelated mess and into a beautiful logo that matches the feel of The Closet Door and it’s overall design theme.

I feel that the finished product will be an improvement to do justice to Faun and the gang!

Another thing I’ve been working on (in secret!) has been the trailer. I know some of you OG fans remember when there was one! I took it down because I felt like I could improve it… then I never did…

So I am in the process of remaking it. I am hoping to release it with the demo update- so fingers crossed!

So hard to chose which images to scrap! But going a new route with trailer design means making the hard choices…
