But the strides Tony and Ziva made and the things they overcame make their relationship so special and so different.

These two people, who were brought up from different backgrounds on different continents, were brought together in the face of tragedy. On different sides, but they came together. And from then on, their relationship became something. They experienced the lowest of lows, faced death and separation on more than one occasion, yet, up until this past season, managed to find their way back together. He found her when everyone thought she couldn’t be found and she became his best friend. They fought, bickered, survived, and pushed the limits, but regardless of what happened, or who happened, they came out of it. They weren’t perfect, but they were the best thing that happened to each other.

And it’s so disappointing that their relationship ended the way it did. Because they should have experienced the highest of highs, together. And they should have been partners of a different variety. Because there was so much more to them, and what they could have been, but they (and we) were denied it. They were denied what could have been the best parts of them and it’s so utterly disappointing.
