I created this “gender lesson” for teachers to present in schools based on the needs of gender nonconforming children I see in my private practice and those I read about online. Please share with any and all classrooms/teachers!
my new fav spot for cool ideas & downloadables. Get inspired!
a site I developed along with my group to present on how to build community in the classroom - especially check out the "Norms" and "Practices" pages for ideas

(via Learning / paint chips contractions… Awesome!)
I love paint chip crafts and education activities.
Absolutely love this idea!
Contractions
Summarization Strategy called “the incredible shrinking notes”. Students start out writing a summary of a reading selection on the large index card. Students are then given the medium sized card and have to take the information from the large card and condense it onto the medium sized card. Finally, students are given the small card and must take the information from the medium sized card and condense it further onto the small card. Great way for students to get to the main point/idea!
This looks like an awesome idea that I think will come in handy. Especially, when I’m teaching my students how to summarize and not plagiarize.
Challenge capsules for students who finish early. After finishing their daily work the students can pick one of the capsules and then complete the task inside. I think it would be a cool idea to color code activities by the lids. That way the students knew that if they picked a capsule with a yellow lid they would be doing a writing activity, a blue lid for vocabulary, a red lid for reading, and so on.
Someone needs to make a .gif for me when things show up that I posted 3 years ago and no one paid any attention to because almost no one followed me and there was no #education tag.
Super cool resource for many topics. This example linked here is one on Frida Kahlo.
Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses! I knew I could count on you, #Education community. Admittedly, I’ve personally read very little of what you’ve suggested myself — of the books on my short (2 item) list I’d only read Educating Esmé.
Here’s a compilation of the suggestions:
#edtech Some great ideas.
Now this is a good use of instructional technology. Students create their own show!
