When I end my 10 hour shift that started at 5 am, my family wonders why I am so irritable and honestly, bitchy.

Its because I’ve been being yelled at for ten hours.

I have been held to standards that humans can’t meet mentally, for ten hours.

Its because I’ve been lifting crates of four gallons of milk over my head all day.

Its because I just got out of a room that held loud noises and yelling for ten hours.

Its because I woke up at 4 am to go to a job where I know I will be under appreciated for ten hours.

Its because I am human. And each day of work has its ups and downs. I get to see people I consider as family now, but I also get to interact with people who don’t appreciate how much work I put in.

I lose my faith in humanity a little more every day.

Until I am broken.

I stay because its money. Because I do enjoy it sometimes. Because I have made family there. Because I sometimes feel accomplished. Because jobs do not get thrown at you left and right. Because I have responsibilities.
