The Royal Family

The royal family of clan consists of Avani, Artemis and Minvera. The royal family was brought in when the clan was first created, Artemis first coined the idea of having a matriarchy to run their newly formed clan. Avani wasn’t too sure of the ideal when it was brought up, but she trusted her mate’s opinion and went with the idea. The established ruling class of the clan went along great throughout the clan’s short history, the members did not have much to say other then that Avani herself was not present in their lives as they would have liked; however, due to her position she cannot be the face of the clan as she would have liked herself to be.

Avani’s duties are taxing when it comes to making sure the clan itself runs without a hitch and the residents are safe to proceed with their own duties. To lessen her stress and work load, Artemis took it upo himself to be the presence within the clan. His duties consist of the mundane tasks that he wishes not to burden Avani with, taking care of citizens, settling disputes and arguements or to quell rivalries.

While Avani and Artemis have defferring duties they still function as one unit and don’t let it get in the way of their love for the other. It was because of this that they had so many children in the clan. Though they love them all equally, they are nursing and guiding one in particular to take over the clan someday- Minvera. She was the first hatched in the very first clutch they had when they started the clan, so it falls to her to lead the clan someday and with a mate of her own to serve as her face. However, the inner turmoil she faces is her own and not one she shares with her parents on her position in the clan.

The Sages

When the clan was formed, Matriach Avani wanted protection for her clan but not just from the recent Beastclans but other flights as well. Avani was cautious and knew that each flight had it’s quirk and that they would do anything to become dominate flight of Sornieth, so she spent a great deal of time finding unique individuals that harnessed the power of their flight and took them in. With their skills and knowledge of their flight’s she could have a better understanding of how to protect her clan and how to counteract any threats clans of those flights might make.

Her search was not in vain as members of her own clan and those who came to the clan, rose above the rest, letting their actions speak for themselves as they proven themselves to be the pinnalcle of what their birth flight had to offer. With their achievements and their abilities, she brought them into her inner circle and made them both her advisors and her secondary line of defense. For they are the last defense in the suspected hard times ahead.

Though the Sages’ jobs is to primairly to protect the clan they are also tasked with making sure the dragons of each of their birth flights feel comformtable in their new home, advising the Matriarch on matters of the clan, as well as advising to how the clan will proceed to the future.

any time a crackle dragon sheds (scales or fur or feathers) the crackle pattern is gone for the first few days, then gradually reappears, spreading until it almost covers the entire integument, by which time another shed cycle begins. the pattern is different each time

the pigment is produced by subcutaneous glands present in all dragons, but like every other gland in the body it can suffer from hyperactivity so technically crackle is just hyperpigmentation going horribly wrong constantly. the condition can be congenital or acquired, in which case a dragon suffers some kind of hormonal imbalance that causes the glands to overproduce. this form of the condition is harmless.

when it starts actually dripping off the body, then it is considered to be a disease and actively harmful. dragons can become dehydrated and malnourished, and similar to certain forms of hyperthyroidism it’s an autoimmune disease with all the risks that carries.

it can also happen rarely if the dragon is a bit under the weather (kind of like how you sweat when you have a cold)

like actually evil, not like Plague’s “based around illness and survival” thing. I wish there was a flight that was like “ha ha we are going to destroy the world and also take over the world.” maybe that can be Arcane now. I want Arcane to be evil. this is not a joke, I am serious, please become evil I am counting on you

Then again the Space Pope did allow the Shade to return, so I can see this being a theme. Maybe Arcane is secretly secretly the Shade’s flight?

plague: spread the disease. cull the weak

shadow: cannot be trusted; delights in the frustration and sometimes pain of others

earth: resents and resists change to the point of choosing death over change

wind: to sit still, to pause, is a death sentence. never rest. never remain.

fire: the world is their folly for destroying to recreate in their image

I’ve been arranging my Lair for some time now and I finally got the arrangement that I like sooooo yeah

The first page of the lair is all the important people that you should know of. The Clan leaders, the Heiress, the help and the Sages. 

Next page is the military that is tasked with guarding the clan and bolstering a force to defend it if there was ever an attack. The three people you ever really need to know of it Sage, Vanyel, and Sardon. 

The next three pages are just the civilians who live and work in the clan. No one you really need to memorize as each has their own job they are important to and good at.
