In this day and age, people are very fond of either hanging out in coffee shops or discovering newly opened restaurants and I am one of those people. I usually hang with friends at either Starbucks or Coffee Bean -you know, the typical coffee shops everybody goes to. Being the free-spirited girl that I am, one who always deviates herself from what’s common, decided to check out Cafféra.
My friend Sanrah and I were talking one time and decided that we should go on an adventure in Maginhawa -a street in Quezon City that is now getting popular because of the aberrent cafés and restaurants that entrepreneurs are putting up. We really couldn’t choose which one to visit first but then after days of deciding, we chose Cafféra. Regardless of the crazy weather on a Monday, we still went to hang.
The moment we went inside the café, we immediately wanted to take photos of each and every corner of the unit because man, every corner is just photo-worthy. Well, according to one of its owners, Kevin Yu, his team came up with a photography-themed café for their thesis because the generation nowadays won’t start eating or drinking unless they take photos of what they are being served. So they thought, why not put up something that people would visit to take photos?
Like what I just said -and I’ll defs say it again- every corner of Cafféra is photo-worthy. They have inspirational quotes, different camera models as wall decorations and random photos that were taken by their team’s photographer friends. So if ever you visit the café and you happen to like or love one of the photos in their gallery, then you can ask the team about the photographer who took it.
Even their counter is photography-inspired! From cameras and film displays, to photography magazines and even a couple of Adventure Time toys. Hahaha!
For their menu, they serve both hot and cold drinks on two sizes: Pixel and Megapixel. They also have snacks and desserts which are, of course, camera-inspired. Everything on the menu are very affordable. We were just too full to try their food but we’d love to next time!
I tried Cafféra’s Chocodamia Frapperture in Megapixel (yes, you guessed it, it is YUM!) while Sanrah tried their Caramel Frapperture. They serve their drinks in a cup that looks like a camera lens. How grool is that? and how cute is that tiny camera that topped off the look?
The café also has this wall, I do not know exactly what you call it -freedom wall, maybe? -and of course, Sanrah and I asked for those little brown paper and they let us borrow their colourful pens then took the chance to shamelessly plug our blogs while expressing how much we love Cafféra.
We also got these cutie camera cookies because we voted for Cafféra at this year’s Estudyantrepreneur. Voting ended June 15th so no more free cookies, I guess?
Our Cafféra experience will always be a memorable one because it’s the very first one that we tried in Maginhawa. Sanrah and I still have a lot on our Maginhawa list and we are thinking of doing a blog collab everytime we tick one off of it (of course we are going to share those with you!). To end this post, what’s a hang out without a photo collage? So, here ya go!
