One Way Ticket
I seized the moment
the moment to leave.
I took a step
and another
fragile steps.
My hand was pressed
to my side unironicly.

I could feel the

soaking my clothes.

coming faster towards me.
I did not feel the take off.

Dream Catcher
Dream catchers in themselves are supposed to keep bad dreams from reaching you in your sleep, but when you don’t have one it is hard for your brain to defend itself against nightmares. While some of mine come from no where, there are others that have reappeared over the course of many years. It reappeared again, breaking me from my slumber in a heart-stopping jolt of fear.
Stretching my arm out in front of me makes it disappear into a mysterious black fog. Draped over my seemingly frail frame is a early victorian style dress; always different than the time before. Behind me a grand, towering castle looms over what seems to be an thick, endless forest. I feel a tug pulling me into the black fog; dragging me towards my first steps into this forest. It seems like after my first few steps I am lost inside an endless amount of trees. I am running; being chased by a familiar figure holding a unidentifiable bladed weapon. My feet bleeding from how long I have been running; an eternity of fear. It is as if I will never stop; as if my heartbeat has fallen in line with the pounding of my feet against dirt. The faster I run the faster my heart screams in terror.
The falling is what gets me the worst. The soft, cold, wet dirt becomes nothingness, and the figure chasing me disappears into the darkness of the tree line. I am alone, falling forever into a black abyss.
I wake, startled and sleepless as I feel my body hit the ground.

I wandered through the town searching for something to keep my mind off of what was happening at my home. My parents arguing for what must be the millionth time; my window was my only escape today. I packed a bag and left; no plan of where I was to go, or where I planned on staying. I walked for miles as the night set in, my feet carrying me across the pavement of sidewalks within the town I knew and had grown to hate. I begin to lose myself within the maze of my mind; my feet kept me going through the night. I don’t know how long I wander the town, or maybe I ended up in the next town over; I was never sure as I can’t recall how long it had been since I left the house. How long was my freedom going to last before I got picked up because someone who knows my family saw me walking. I had to stop and rest, so I sat on the side of the road. I sat and rested and let my eyes close and let my mind lull me to sleep.
When I woke, there was a guy on me. He had my wrists held down above my head and his body was pressed against mine. I shut my eyes tightly and pretended I was asleep as his slammed himself into me over and over and over again. It didn’t stop for almost an hour; he just kept going, like the fact I was unconscious, the fact he was raping me kept him going. He didn’t pull out when he finished; he just stayed there on top of me. I slowly opened my eyes and ended up looking right into his. He smiled, hand raised, as I caught a glint of something silver. I felt the pain in my chest just before I started to fade from consciousness. He was going at it again; slamming himself into me until I was screaming from the pain in my chest and the pain he was causing to my vagina. I wanted it all to stop. It carried on for hours though. I didn’t understand how he could continue like this. Even after my voice died from the screaming, he kept it alive. It wasn’t until everything started turning black that he stopped. The last thing I heard was his pleased chuckle, and the sound of my body hitting the floor.
Food
I woke to the sound of dishes from the kitchen; the clanking of pots or pans being moved around alerted me to the knowledge that someone was about to cook. I was dragged back into a state of slumber when my eyes closed. My nose is what woke me next; the smell of mouth-watering bacon, pancakes, and eggs. I dress myself in comfy clothes for the day and go to the kitchen to observe the preparation of the delicious breakfast my father was cooking. Within a few moments, a plate was set in front of me. I stared at the crispy bacon, admired the perfectly golden-brown pancakes, and smelt the delicious, eggs. The taste was glorious. The pancakes had that wonderful hint of vanilla, the eggs had a pinch of pepper, and the bacon was sweet yet savory. It was a heavenly breakfast and I devoured it before any other member of my family could wake to taste the breakfast of kings.

Dancing
The room was grand in the decoration, striving for the feel of a royal castle. Around the edges of the room were several couples talking quietly as the music played softly from the corner by the grand entrance. From the side of the crowd, a wave of amethyst flowed into the center of the room. The satin fabric began to move and created a mesmerizing attraction that held the attention of all the people who stood, reluctant to dance. The lone dancer of amethyst was lost to her own rhythm; the band had stopped to watch her gracefully glide across the dark oak floor. They felt compelled by an unknown force to play a song that accented the beautiful dance. Without knowing what they were doing, a song that match her rhythm started to fill the room. The others at the edges had and unnatural pull that seemed to force them to join her in the center of the room. She was lost in a sea of grays, but was still able to stand out as the only color that waded through the drab dancers.

His eyes hit me with a startling jump blue electricity,
Brown hair acting as a lure of chocolate delicacies,
Voice melting my resolve,
His personality a rope around my heart.
His heart frozen,
Crystal eyes focused on another,
Hand caressing the forbidden desires,
A fantasy of our own where he enjoyed my willing lust,
A lying world I had built between us.

Outside the Window
Some say you can tell what the weather is like when you read the sky the night before. In Oregon it is a hard task; a task I struggle to perform as a young, untrained girl. So as clear as the sky was last night, and as cold as the air bit; I struggled to tell the weather that would great my tired eyes in the morning. So I woke early to the call of my step-mom; eyes barely open as I pulled the blanket up over my bare skin. I was too warm in my bed last night and decided my best plan was to sleep in just my underwear, free of any restraight my clothing might offer. It was chilly when I tried to crawl out of bed, as it usually is after I overheat in my sleep. I could tell my cat was watching me, eyes glaring as he is shut in my room; rejected from being taken to drop off my step-sister at school like is usually does. He likes rides; acts like a dog with a wagging tail, searching for his harness and leash when we mention the holy word.
I laid in bed a little longer, eyes opening and closing as I debated staying in bed. I laid on my stomach at the edge and looked at my cat as his tail flipped in disapproving annoyance. I rolled over to the other side, hugged my boyfriend’s sweater that smelt like him, threw it over the pile of my pillows, and crawled out of bed. I threw on my fleece-lined pajama pants before putting on my black bra and throwing my sweater over it. I wasn’t planning on going anywhere. I opened my door and let my cat out. He bolted as a loud truck drove by. This is when I realized the grey light coming through my blinds; with a peek out my window I saw the howling wind pushing against the branches of the tree outside my house and the light droplets of rain hitting the glass of my window. I smiled at the weather that tests the bravery of drivers; I smiled because it has always been my favorite type of weather.
When you walk, hold your head up; be sure that whoever sees you knows you won't take any shit.
When you talk, speak clearly; even if you don't think anyone is listening they are.

The New Me
It is not exactly true, though it feels like it to me
