“NO HOMEWORK POLICY” IN ALL LEVELS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED
Homework is said to be a teacher assigned and teacher monitored learning encounters that happen outside the classroom. It is a planned part of the education process designed to enhance the students learning. Homework is additionally a methods for exhibiting and building the association amongst home and school that prompts more steady accomplishment in all parts of school life. However, many students wants a “no homework policy” because it will not eat up their free time and they can spend their time with their families/friends after going to school, not thinking about the assignments given to them. I’m not being hypocrite here because I really know what you feel, we’re all bombarded with tons of homeworks, but when you look on the brighter side, homework is beneficial to us.
First, we, students can engage with our studies. Indeed, even with the entire day we spent at school, assigned class time isn't generally enough when it comes to engaging with our school work. Doing homework enables us to reconsider content learnt amid the day with a reasonable head and also because we’re far from distractions. This likewise gives our parents a chance to get in touch with us, and see what we learn in school.
Second, doing homework helps us to develop time management and to set priorities. Sometimes our teachers give homeworks simultaneously, because of this, we learn to plan our study schedule, what to do first, second and so on. We also learn to set our priorities, because of having a limited time and deadlines, we tend to set aside the unnecessary things that we want to do instead we do what we need to do.
Third, homework helps our teachers to determine how well our understanding about the topics that were discussed. It helps them to track our progress, whether we understand it or not. Through the help of homework they can spot when we’re struggling in understanding the lessons. And also, submitting homework also provides a good lesson in responsibility and diligence, often with disciplinary consequences if homework is not returned or completed to the required standard.
“No homework policy” is somehow better when it will be implemented because in general, some students are not excited about the homework they get assigned because they are bombarded with other options that seem far more exciting. Let’s face it – homework is no more exciting today than when we were kids. It was tough for us to do homework and we did not have nearly as many distractions as today’s students, but when you dig deeper it is not. Homework show students the important life lessons, such as how to read and communicate with others, that they will use as an adult. Homework also teaches students how to problem solve, think independently, and build an understanding and interest for the issues in our society.
