I feel like connecting with someone musically really transcends any differences you may have with them. Which is essentially what the essence of music festivals are supposed to be, right? Before the privatization, corporations and big business. Just good music.

On time.
I seriously find time to be the most cumbersome thing. I never have enough of it. It goes too slow or too fast. It’s never the right time. It plays such a critical role in our lives when it’s not even a natural manifestation. It was created by man and to what? To trap us in the inevitable outcome of life?
On relationships.
I think it’s important to engage, interact and connect with different people in life. Professionally, socially, and romantically. I believe it helps you gain a clearer understanding of yourself depending on the people you choose to keep in your life and allow to pass. However, I don’t think the value of a person’s presence in your life can necessarily be measured by the length of time they spend in it. I suppose it’s more of the imprint they leave on it. Someone told me once we were all just passing through each other’s lives. I believed it for a while and think I was left fairly jaded from it. But something I’ve been trying to work on is letting go of people who were only meant for a short time in my life and realizing that’s okay.

What am I doing? What does it all mean? Where am I going? Where have I gone? How do I know when I get there?
"Before medical school I was really into music. I’d work really hard on some songs, and post them on YouTube, and sometimes they’d get a few thousand views. There was a girl I used to collaborate with. We did a few covers together. But I went to medical school, and she skipped college and focused on music full time. Anyway, she’s doing great now. All her songs get hundreds of thousands of views, and she just got back from a tour in Asia, and is talking with some major record labels. The funny thing is, she stopped in New York awhile back, and we met up and recorded a cover together, just for old times sake. We just threw it together really quickly, but because of who she is now, that song got more views than the combined total of everything else I ever worked on. It’s funny how things work out."
