Stopping off to pick up his coffee for the morning, Domizio grumbled when he saw the line already formed ahead of him. It was easily twice as long as normally for this time of day, and as a creature of habit a situation like this threatened to darken his mood for the rest of the day. Not that most people would ever notice, it’s not like he was the most talkative or friendly person to begin with. Checking his phone to try and pass some of the time, but barely a minute later he looked up and saw no progress whatsoever ahead of him. “Unreal,” he muttered under his breath, just loud enough for the person standing in front of him to hear.

        Standing in line at The Daily Dose, Amalia’s feet stayed planted in her spot while she focused her full attention on her phone. Still annoyed with the healing process of her severe injury and how she couldn’t do any Reaper work for a while, the captain pulled herself together and gave her socialite work a run for its money. The line not moving an inch for the past few minutes made a lightbulb turn on in the Agosti twin’s head, but before she could act on her revelation, a too familiar voice from behind caught her busy mind. “Uncle Dom,” Her smile shined bright once her eyes landed on her Uncle Domizio. “What’s with the face? Don’t have enough patience to wait ten more minutes for coffee?” She questioned with tease and sass laced within her tone. “I’m hurt that you didn’t recognize me from behind. Like people have said, I’m one of a kind, and I don’t doubt them one bit.”

        “Per l’amor del cazzo,” Sighing heavily after the Italian words left her annoyed lips, Amalia huffed before lifting the beer bottle to her mouth. The injured Agosti child has spent time with Rocco in his home’s safety and has been drinking all of his liquor. She was out at her place and had no protection rather than her locked front door. The captain was annoyed with her healing injury, but what irritated her the most were her parents’ non-stop texts that were currently blowing up her phone. “I told mom and dad that I’m with you right now and they can’t give me a fucking break.” She stated toward her twin brother before throwing her mobile across the couch she was occupying. “Why aren’t they bothering you just as much as me or even more?”

GABRIEL MARCHAND.

Ever since Amalia had been hurt, Gabe felt a little more protective of her. His own biological family had shut doors in his face and while he had made his own family, he still appreciated having people around that felt like siblings. That didn’t mean he appreciated seeing her hurt at all. Seeing the female Agosti twin out and about made Gabe smiles as he had no idea when she’d been let out, and took the vision of her as a welcome surprise. 

He noted her appearance before walking over to her, weaving through the people inhabiting their shared space of the bar. It was still a risk to be out after such a tragedy, but there were some risks worth the reward and to see one of his closest friends had been worth it.

        “Gabriel,” When Amalia’s bright eyes locked onto Gabriel, her hues gleamed with joy, and she felt her grin grow by the second. As much as the socialite’s extreme anxiety increased by being in the crowded bar, her worry faltered once her brother from another mother came into view. “I’m so sorry for not giving you an update once I got out. I would have if the pain meds weren’t so strong at the time.” Her statements sounded like excuses, but she was speaking the truth. She was always honest when it came to him. “But I’m glad we’re together now. Want to drink and keep up appearances with me, or are you heading out?”

        “I don’t know if anyone has told you this already, but you’re definitely the sexiest woman in this place,” Amalia said to Elena, approaching her in the well-known club. Ever since her parents made her lay off her captain duties, for the time being, the healing Agosti decided to pay her full attention to her social following, hence why she was at Elite Beats. She had a good time so far, but her night became even better when she spotted her delicious and consistent hook-up. “Have anyone wrapped around your skilled finger yet?”

ALOISIO AGOSTI.

Aloisio sat in the chair across from Amalia as silently as he could, afraid that any slight movement would wake her. He had volunteered to stay the night and relieve his siblings that were reeling themselves from the events that had transpired. What a way to ring in the fuckin’ New Year he sighed, bringing the now lukewarm coffee that he held up for a sip. The rage he felt upon hearing the news at first had dissipated but it lingered and buzzed at the seams as his mind worked to think of retaliation. It was true that Aloisio preferred to keep his hands occupied with business, it’s what he thrived on, but before everything would always come his family. 

As the doctor came in to look at the machines and began updating Aloisio about his niece’s current condition, he caught her movement out of the corner of his eye. “Thank you doctor,” he nodded as the room became occupied by Agostis’. “Could’ve done with a few more moments of quiet,” he teased in response although his expression displayed concern. “How do you feel? Do you need anything?”

        “Well, I’m not sorry for that one bit,” Amalia matched Aloisio’s tease perfectly as she started to wake up from her long slumber fully. Feeling her grin grow at the sight of her uncle sitting close to her bed, she sat up slowly and made sure not to aggravate her gunshot wound too much by doing so. Once she was settled comfortably with the minimal amount of pain, the Agosti daughter locked her eyes onto the Agosti son and shook her head. “I’m hanging in there, and no, not at all. I’m just glad you’re here.” She told him in full honesty. As much as she loved her immediate family’s hovering, she adored the man before her so much and felt at home when she was around him. Grimacing lightly toward the discomfort she felt, she took matters into her own hands and longed for a distraction of any kind. “Please distract me from the pain I’m feeling. Is there anything new going on with you?”

NOAH BELLAMY.

Noah, who couldn’t have cared less about these brat children, it seemed. Did however come to visit Amalia, all in all. Not because of his respect for Piero, but because he wanted to, one could imagine. Finishing a cigarette he flicked it at a passing nurse, hitting her in the shoulder and walked into the hospital as she turned to shout at him about it. He turned slightly, giving her a shrug “My bad. I didn’t see you there…”

Facing front he entered the building and got Amalia’s room from the front desk. Making his way there he stepped inside only to see Amalia was asleep. Walking over he tilt his head, bringing a hand over to lift up the blanket where he heard she was wounded, staring at the area a moment before placing the blanket down again and moving to get a look at the room.

Eventually a doctor came in and gave him a bit more information on the situation. Because, he told them he was the girls uncle “– younger brother to her mother, this little one has us all so worried…”  He then thanked the doctor and watched them leave a moment before hearing Amalia ask if he missed her “No.” Noah answered, sitting back in his chair and looking over toward her.

“Tell me what you remember seeing that night, Amalia.” He ordered.

        “Younger brother to my mother, huh?” Weak to a tee, Amalia had enough energy to cock up an eyebrow Noah’s way and set herself up in the hospital bed. The attractive man sitting before her held her intrigue more than she’d like to admit and his pure honesty was one of the many reasons why that was. “Before or after I got shot?” The Agosti daughter questioned the blonde male again as she followed in his blunt footsteps. Taking a deep breath to herself, she looked down to where her gunshot wound took place and opened her mouth to answer his statement. “All I remember from last night was celebrating with my friends and Rocco, hearing someone scream gun, getting shot in the stomach, getting carried by Jesse, and then seeing the paramedics all before going unconscious.”

HARRISON VANCE.

After everything that had transpired at New Years, Harrison was  out a blazer and spent most of his drive to the hospital slightly panicked. However it would have been impossible to tell considering the mask the CEO wore was on his face the whole ride. He didn’t want to let Clara know how concerned he got around people he cared about. Now that he was in the hospital and everyone seemed okay, Harrison finally felt able to breathe

When he saw Amalia in a room and laying in a bed, his own tension returned as the Captain stuck around till she woke up. He had to at least see if she was okay and then it’d be fine. He had been replying to emails on his phone and trying to play damage control when it came to anything he actually could control when he hears her voice. “ How do you still look beautiful even in a hospital bed? I need some pointers” He teased as he walked over to sit next to her. “ How are feeling?’ He asked allowing himself to be serious again. 

        “You always know how to make a girl smile, Harrison,” Amalia said in a weak tone toward Harrison upon a smirk covering her lips. As much as she was too tired and in pain, the adverse effects never had a match against the captain’s tease. Taking in his serious tone, she took a moment to reposition herself in her hospital bed and find the right words. “I’m hanging in there. The pain meds are helping a bunch and the company couldn’t be better.” Said with light mockery, she made sure to ask her next question as genuine as possible. “How about yourself? I’m glad to see that you’re okay and didn’t get hurt at all.”

ROCCO AGOSTI.

   By her bedside, Rocco stayed. Their parents had been around for most of the day, but eventually left to run and sort out the continuous, never-ceasing works that went on in their lives. Once they were sure that their daughter would be okay, they made for a needed exit.  Understandably, the Crimson Reapers had to be mobilised, but that was for another time for him to think about. Right now, all he was concerned with was with his other half, and her safety.

    So when consciousness finally kicked in for Amalia, he could only give her a lighthearted chuckle, pleased with her recovery. “You don’t have amnesia, so shut your silly mouth for calling me stranger.” he softly spoke, lightly brushing her hair then. She was awake, and she was alright; that was all that mattered to him in the moment. “But yes, I definitely missed you.” 

        “I was just teasing, dummy,” Teasing Rocco with ease, Amalia’s grin stayed firm against her lips. Out of everyone she cared and loved for, seeing her brother first made things so much better in her mind. “You should know me better than that.” Taking in her handsome, equally attractive twin’s form, she felt her grin fade and tears well into her eyes. The injured captain knew she would get emotional with him in sight, but she didn’t expect the feelings to brew this soon. “I’m so glad you’re here with me, Roc, and more importantly, that you’re okay.” Her tone hitched as she tried her best to hold back the upcoming falling tears. “Distract me. How’s Gio doing? You’ve been with him too, right?”

A stiff pain pinched Clara in the neck, prompting her to stretch her neck and shift in an uncomfortable arm chair. The see-through wire connecting the IV in her vein on her hand and the volume expander hanging beside her was tangling into her as she sat. It was around half an hour ago since she sneaked out from her own room at the hospital and quietly sat by the bed of Amalia. She laid there calmly, motionlessly as a monitor on the other side of the bed beeped in unison with her heart and was lulling Clara to sleep. But the raven haired woman kept her eyes focused on her friend on the bed. It was a heart-braking image to say the least, yet Clara’s expression stayed emotionless.

Her eyes fluttered with the mild tiredness until she saw Amalia’s on the other hand slowly quiver and open. “Hi.” She said quietly, immediately taking the other’s hand into hers with a soft smile on her lips. “How are you feeling?”

        Fluttering her eyes open, Amalia’s bright blue hues landed on Clara sitting beside her bed. In mere seconds, she knew this interaction between them wasn’t going to be like any other she had in the past few days. She had conversations with people she cared deeply for, but they didn’t understand what she was going through. Letting her eyes graze upon the IV connected to her family friend’s hand and the volume expander, the Agosti daughter knew she was going to understand her the most. “It may not look like it, but I’m happy to see you right now,” She told her with a tired grin. “I’m alright, I guess. I can’t stand to look at my wound, and every time I try to go to bed, I believe I’m going to have nightmares of that night.” The fellow captain confessed her real thoughts, knowing this information was only for Clara’s ears and her ears only. “How about yourself? Why aren’t you in bed and resting?”

Esme came into the room and smiled at the brunette. “How’re you feeling?” She asked as she put her medical bag to the side. “I just wanna check how you’re healing and how the pain meds are doing?” Sitting by the bed, the brunette began to pull the covers down so she could look at the entry wounds and ensure there wasn’t any infection. “Is there more pain or has it been staying to a tolerable level?” Her gaze flicked over the brunette, feeling slightly guilty that she had not been able to help everyone who’d been shot that night. Especially someone as important as amalia. “You’re going to have some nice scars, though.”

        “Esme, hey,” Soon after waking up with another long and much-needed nap, Amalia’s sleepy eyes were happy to see Esme walk into her hospital room. “I’m as good as a recently shot woman can be. I think I’m healing okay, and don’t get me started on how much I’m enjoying the pain meds.” Lightly chuckling toward the words spoken, her tired features hardened when her friend lifted the sheets and revealed her bandaged wound. Her bright blue hues locked onto the injury for a moment, but they ripped away quickly due to the horrific images it gave her. “It’s been staying at a tolerable level. Although, it likes to hate my guts and act up when I’m trying to get my beauty sleep in the middle of the night.” Wanting to hide the fact that she couldn’t stand the sight of her wound, she added more annoyance to her tone. “It’s going to be a scar that I’ll never forget, that’s for sure. I’m glad you made it out safe and sound.”

JAXON BROWN.

    Jaxon arrived at the hospital a few minutes after leaving the beach, but there was nothing he could do for anyone that got admitted. Therefore, he went home, took a shower, and paced till visiting hours rolled around the next morning. He is running off of 30 minutes of sleep, though he needed to see Amalia and Kamryn. Though for whatever reason, it was difficult to see Kamryn, so he went to Amalia’s floor, deciding to visit her first.      A cup of coffee was warming one of his hands, and in the other, there were flowers he got at the gift shop for Amalia. Grinning at her words, he pressed into the room, placing his coffee on the table but kept the flowers in his hands as he sat down. “If I said yes, will you hold it against me?” He lightly poked. 

    “Even in a hospital gown and bed, you still look gorgeous.”

        “Definitely,” Feeling her infamous smirk grow slowly onto her features, Amalia couldn’t help but grin whenever Jaxon was around. Even if they were a mile apart but still located in the same vicinity, everybody saw her smug smile on her lips for days. He had a way of making her feel special in any situation and she couldn’t have been more thankful. Sitting herself up in a steady manner, the Agosti daughter grimaced at the pain shooting within her body but felt it quickly go away when she heard what her close friend said next. “You’re still smoking hot even with worry and concern masking your gorgeous eyes.” She told him teasingly, knowing that she was hurting but still able to flirt in full power. “Keep those compliments going and I’ll make you have a hard time walking when I get out of here eventually.” Sending him a wink, her bright blue hues unlocked from his and landed on the flowers lying in his hands. “Let me guess; those are for your date?”
