By brother in law died a few months ago from CADASIL. Short story. Brain disease. He was 65. 3 kids. My sister was devastated even though she knew for 10 years he had a disease that was fatal.
Flash forward to last Friday. His oldest son, 40, was out on his morning run.
Nephew is a Leadville 100 runner. Mountain 100 mile marathon. Crazy stuff. He ran every day.
He was 3 miles from his house. His wife of two years sleeping in. She got up and he wasn’t home. After an hour she called my nephews sister. They looked everywhere. For 4 hours. My nieces husband looked, he is a police officer. Nothing.
After 7 hours they found him. She was at one of the trauma center’s emergency room when the wheeled him by. She dropped to the floor.
While running he had a stroke. Major brain bleed. A passerby saw him. Stopped and called 911. He was 200 yards from a fire station. But he had no id, no phone. He went to closest hospital. They transferred him to trama center.
He’s 40. Only 40. In ICU. Forced comma for a few days. Responding now to his wife’s voice. His mom’s voice.
My faith is being tested. He’s a really good man we have done so much together. His wife is shattered. My sister, who just lost her husband is in a trance. I’m crying typing this but I feelI need to share.
Today, they said he may have his dad’s disease. Will be paralyzed partially. He’s 40. God dang. 40.
We got him. I don’t need anything. He needs positive vibes. Brian needs vibes. His wife needs strength. Love.
Take a moment to hug your kids. Your spouse. Tell your friends you care about them. If you run, workout, have an id.
Sorry. I don’t post deep stuff often. Send me a few vibes too.
