Teatime For The FireFly by Shonda Patel ● February Novel 2015
I wrote my first entry in my # Reading Journal today! I have been waiting to finish a novel to spill my guts and explore their awesome challenges. The Publisher of this book had a great idea! Now to find an updated one for 2014, 2015 and on-ward; as this on has sections that have the last year as 2013. I can deal! Maybe gives me a chance to read, blog, brag and of course purchase new books!
This Novel (in short no spoilers) is a Romance novel; which is labeled Fiction, I like to think of it as a cross Non-fiction and had a help from its sidekick Fiction.
Main Idea - Novel is based in India, in the 1940s during their bridge from Colonial to Independence. The main part of the novel centers around the famous area Plantations. The facts she throws in for description is great!
I highly recommend this novel. It was on the Bestseller list and that is not normally where I look to purchase what I will read, but the cover and title caught my eye! I read it 3 times (as I also read a book twice) because I just didn’t want to fi is that last chapter because I knew between my next book I would find time to read a third and hopefully final time to finish.
I did give the novel 4 out of 5 stars, as it gave me some dry parts, that the factual information made up for in the end.
Side Note: I would love it if #ShondaPatel would think of writing a Prequel style Novel based on another secondary character in the. His strange charm, living habits and manners, we're not just intriguing but I wanted more. It would be great if you could do a Novel based on his family and the real reason he ended up leaving and heading down to the Tea Farms. How his longterm relationship started and further with Jamina. Then even tie in his meetings and encounters with the two main characters. (I would even love to write, shoot off idea or read a draft. If you ever took me up on my challenge! Yes, I have decided it should be a challenge!)
