manly deeds. womanly words.
i found myself sitting in a room full of the kind of energy that changes cultures. it smelt like belief, sweat, & tears. if i could bottle that scent, i would inhale it every morning to remind me of my why. to steep my soul in the passion of the artists i admire. my friends may never fully know how much i value their pursuit of creativity & it’s Creator. their zeal to Become mighty men of valor is invigorating. like splashing melted glaciers into pores as day breaks.
for this i give my thanks.
which brings me to this post’s namesake. a dear friend told me the title grates her soul. her passion for gender equality is intoxicating, but it not a wine I desire to drink. but more on that at another time. the title is actually Maryland’s state motto. i heard it for the first time after seeing Become for a third time. there was something about that phrase that struck a resounding chord of yes in my spirit. i feel i said it as well as i could in my last post.
a well loved woman will change the world
& a well loved man will lead it.

i could write about this for days honestly. i have more experience with godly men than worldly men. & that right there is intentional. guard your heart above all. i just don’t invest my time with any man who isn’t in the business of honoring human hearts. i am surrounded by god honoring, gospel sharing, & character pursuing men. there is not a lack of godly men in my life. perhaps what is lacking is pursuit. but more on that later.
w o m a n l y w o r d s.
maybe i love this concept because i am a woman of many words. maybe its because i’m a poet & songwriter. being a woman who uses her words to build her home. to uplift her brothers. to encourage her leaders is s o j o y o u s. in the eternal storyline, I know my words matter. as a woman. as a disciple of Jesus. it’s not that women do less in deed. but we do know how to form a world with our words. my desire to become more of a proverbs 31 woman and less proverbs 27:15.
it’s as simple as this.
when men become who they’re created to be, women are invited to do the same. when women become who they’re created to be, men are invited to do the same.
to be a woman is a m a r v e l o u s a d v e n t u r e.
to be a man is a l o f t y r e s p o n s i b i l i t y.
my shoulders were never meant to carry man’s weight. but i was made for womanhood & i am learning to delight in every moment of my femininity,
grace, peace, & love,
