i feel like. ok. hanai obviously has an element of natural talent and intelligence, but it's not to the degree that some... people... have (looks at tajima). he has to work really hard to be good at baseball and get good grades etc and think that when people come in and can just coast on their natural talent he gets? irritated. and i guess probably jealous.

i think that where tajima isn't concerned, hanai is very cool headed and responsible? that is like a given it's a basic part of his personality, hanai can be kind of a stick in the mud but that's probably mostly due to the fact that he feels pressured to be mature and responsible bc he's the captain and he wants others around him to think that he's mature (which i'm not going to go into right now bc i already talked about it)
but i think that tajima could very easily make him do things, just by lightly teasing or taunting him. hanai is prone to snapping, it seems (shown in episode 1 when he flew off hte handle bc of abe's taunting, and i mean. he doesn't yell a lot but he does sometimes), and i think that tajima could easily get hanai to do things that he wouldn't normally just by calling him a chicken or something (of course, it would all be lighthearted and not malicious at all on tajima's part, but hanai would probably take it seriously bc lbr he takes most things very seriously)
i could see tajima easily making hanai get into a dick measuring competition or like literally. anything weird. just by being himself.
