Let yourself rest ☕
Easy to say, not so easy to do.
I think I will put this quote on my wall above my desk, so I can see it when I look up.
Sometimes you have to make an effort to rest, to really rest, to stop everything.
Stop thinking about your work, about productivity. Do something that just makes you happy, or do nothing, and don’t feel guilty about it !
Rest isn’t just inactivity between two moments of activity, it’s also giving yourself some space in your mind to relax, the possibility to slow down.
As a creative I’m always looking for inspiration around me. And even when I watch a series or take the train I tell myself “I should use this time to practice”, and I know I need to slow down because I can’t think like that all the time. So this is kind of an advice to my own self too.
How do you rest ?
The glorification of an unhealthy work/life balance is robbing us of ouf time. ⏰

sorry for the spam meme but I needed this today
When this is over, may we never again take for granted the simple things in life. Coffee with friends. A Friday night at a concert. A handshake with a stranger. Time spent with your grandparents. Hugging those you love most. Conversations with your neighbors. The morning commute. Going to school every week. Full shelves at the store. A typical Tuesday night. Life itself. These times can be challenging, but may we allow ourselves to slow down and reflect on what matters most. Once the dust settles and the light shines brighter, may we find that we have become the people we have wanted to be, who we always hoped we would be, and may we all be better for each other having gone through the unimaginable. In this crisis, hold on to love, hope, and empathy. That is my wish - that we are left with and experiencing more love and humanity during and after all this.
