Figured it would nice to have a kid’s song in Danish to have an idea of what little kids listen to growing up. It also had English subtitles so that it would easier to understand what they were saying.
This Danish pop song is by Otto Brandenburg. The song is supposedly a popular song played at parties.

Danish firm Dorte Mandrup have designed a new skyscraper to become Western Europe’s tallest tower in Brande, Denmark.
Denmark becomes Western Europes first tallest tower rising above 1,000 feet.
Photographer Kristoffer Trolle took a picture of a father and son during Denmark’s holiday Sankt Hans (Saint Johns). The tradition is that there is a bonfire with a witch to represent the misery that Denmark wants to avoid.

The Danish island of Bornholm has an aging incinerator that will soon need replacement. Instead, the local government is adopting a totally new system.
I felt like this was a great news story to think about because in Denmark, at least there is a part that is trying to recycle the waste and become environmentally friendly.

Came across this artist from Denmark, and I thought this was pretty cool, because of the beat and just how the language works along with the beat. It doesn’t really sound like he’s speaking in another language but if you listen carefully you can tell.
The Good and Bad in Denmark
One of the scariest things that I learned about Denmark in regard to sexual harassment is that it’s one of the highest ratings as being one of the most prevalent in Europe. That really freaks me out because one, I am a female so that already makes me a target and two I've never been to Denmark before so learning that they are one of the highest rated in Europe makes me feel uneasy. However, in another article related to sexual harassment in Denmark, there is a bill that is trying to define sexual harassment as an offense rather than gender discrimination. I feel like that’s a great bill because although I may be only going there to study it’s awesome to know that there is a bill that’s trying to help those who are in a workplace surrounded by people who have a sexual tone and make it so that everyone has a more professional tone.
On a more positive note, I also learned that there are water stations across Copenhagen that is safe to drink from. The water stations in Copenhagen undergo quality controls to make sure that the water is clean and make sure there are no chemicals in it. What is also nice is that this website, https://www.hofor.dk/english/knowledge-downloads/water-supply/free-drinking-water-in-copenhagen/ gives a map of where these water fountains can be found so that there wouldn’t be a need to constantly buy a water bottle. However, it would be wise to take a picture of the nearest water fountains in the area because I know I wouldn’t pay for the cellular data that use the internet because of the charge it would cost.
Lastly, what I wanted to look at is what vaccines are going to be needed in order to travel to Denmark. According to passport health, the top three vaccines needed are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Rabies because of the various ways those disease spread. Although regular vaccines should be up to date before the trip. It is also wise to make a medical kit that contains sunblock, hand sanitizer, band-aids, medications that may be needed, etc.

Blogger Lindsay Hiser studied in Denmark and felt that this blog post specifically is helpful in terms of the various restaurants around that would be worth trying out.
Denmark's government has announced an initiative to encourage more people in the Scandinavian country to partake in physical exercise.
This last year’s local news but thought it would be good to add into the blog because exercise no matter where you are in the world should be something encouraging to others.
