Boy scout field manual
The Elcan SpecterDR.
1-4x Scope, 7.62 Nato
Anyone ever use it? Gripes complaints? Thumbs up?
so this is the PDX1 12.
Its a Winchester shell packed full of a 1oz rifled slug and 3 00 buckshot. Its meant to be Winchesters ultimate defensive shell. Sounds like it.
So this is the rifle I have been considering. Springfield M1A SOCOM ii
Thoughts?
I am looking at that or an AR-15. Do not care to much for the AR but I know it very well all ready so it would not be hard to pick up and play with.
Wehhh help
screw the AR, if you have the cash, get the M1A it’s better in so many ways.
Screw ARs in general…. Unless there in anything but 5.56
What’s wrong with an AR? It has a reliable action and is extremely modular. Why don’t you guys like them?
ARs are amazing and quite sexy. I would love to have an M1/M14 also, but their prices are even more ridiculous than AR prices. Personally I don’t really like the Springfield SOCOM II, it looks too weird and front heavy. Their other M1As look awesome though.
Well thanks all. I do love the AR, it is a great weapon system that I have beat to shit since basic training. It is reliable as hell unless you are some SEAL and need to fire underwater or some crazy shit. I am not. I want fun and easy to use. I know all fingers point to the AR. It checks all the blocks, readily available parts, and like I said; I am abundantly familiar. Its like a Civic. A very nice and sporty Civic.
The reason I want the M1A is for the timeless design and feel it offers. Larger round = more fun. I do not think it is more capable at dealing damage to a spongy humanoid, just feels better to fire. It is pricey as shit but so is an AR of similar build quality. The lower M5 rail is removable and seriously cuts away from the bulky look and weight.
Either way I like them both. Gonna be a while before I need to pick anyway.
Walther WA2000
Such a weird yet awesome looking gun. Looks like it should be a competition rifle.
Talk about a rare motherfucker. Only like 150 out there. Im jelly
The (better) Shotgun
The Winchester model 24
A 12 gauge shell is probably the most common round you will find all across the globe. A shotgun of any type is probably your greatest response force to any kind of threat within 50 meters. Get a hold of a reliable double barrel. It's simple design will assure it works when called upon. Remember you are focusing on staying alive, not going on a killing spree. If you must lug around a heavy weapon. (and you must) Then make it a double barrel.
The Shotgun
The Kel Tec KSG-12
While completely impractical due to the rarity of this weapon, it gets an honorable mention. Compact, lightweight, high magazine capacity. Its everything you want in one. All in all, bad choice in the ZA because parts are not readily available. Good choice for home invasion and self defense.
The Rifle
The AR-15
No matter how much better another rifle may be, more accurate, harder hitting, lighter, whatever: the AR-15 is universal. This is the weapon system you're gonna find in millions of homes across America. It excepts a NATO magazine and the most common NATO round. When you need parts or ammo there will be plenty to go around. Not to mention all the gizmos that fit to this thing.
So, to start it out I guess we can talk Zombies
