But, a 6'5 woman admits her long limbs have often set her back – and left her unable to find a wedding dress that fits correctly. Miyuki Syiama regularly stands out from the crowd with her eye-catching stature. The 6ft 5ins woman, from Ohio in the US, has legs so long that they make up more than two thirds of her height. However, shopping is "almost impossible" for Miyuki. Not only is she unable to find clothing that fits right, but people regularly come up to her and ask how tall she is. Now, the bride-to-be faces her biggest clothing challenge yet - finding her wedding dress. Miyuki, who told Truly TV that she previously found it difficult to find love due to her height, has found that most dresses don't reach past her ankles.

Standing at 183cm, with size 13 feet, I am well acquainted with the "tall" label. According to statistics I'm a rare breed, falling in the upper 99th percentile for height for an Australian woman. There have been times when this has felt a little isolating. But I've noticed something: there are more of us out there than I first realised. Recently I discovered a social media group for tall Australian women, and felt overjoyed. Growing up, I seldom met another female as tall as me — perhaps if I had, I wouldn't have felt the need to stoop down to try to "fit in". I want my young daughter and other girls to grow up feeling empowered and confident about their beautiful stature.
