Hi, aroace lesbian here. I want to start off by first saying it’s kinda weird that anon seemed to focus only on aroace lesbians being their issue instead of...the people actively erasing her being aroace entirely.
So let’s start off with this: she was canonly stated to be aromantic and asexual, as in not experiencing romantic or sexual attraction. In the letter confirming this, she says she has ‘never been interested [in romance or sex] and never has been.’ This can actually be read one of two ways: 1. She’s neutral toward both and isn’t interested in either or 2. She IS repulsed and isn’t interested in either. It doesn’t explicitly state which, so either reads could be correct.
Secondly, anon is correct - not every aroace person HAS to be oriented or angled. I can see being suspicious of non-aroaces headcanoning her as something else but as for aroace lesbians like myself? Quite frankly, if anyone thinks I’m being aphobic toward my own identity they need to sit down.
Thirdly, I ALSO find it weird anon seems to automatically equate Lilith being headcanoned as aroace lesbian as that somehow making her out to still have romantic or sexual attraction or relationships which...isn’t the case. Sure, they bring up tertiary attraction, but are they aware that tertiary attraction does not and NEVER equals romantic or sexual attraction? I would assume as an oriented aroace person too, they would. But the way this is worded, it doesn’t seem like it. Which also reads very much in bad faith towards aroace lesbians.
Another point anon is correct on - not every character needs to be shipped, and I wholeheartedly agree. Lilith has no partner in canon and I think that’s incredible, I don’t WANT her to have one, I love how the show focuses so much on platonic and familial relationships with their characters and not just the ones who are non-aroaces in romantic relationships.
But there’s also the fact that just because someone headcanons an aroace character as also lesbian, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s JUST for shipping purposes. Once again, kind of in bad faith to just assume that, in the case of aroace lesbians doing this, at least.
So let me state plainly: aroace lesbians seeing Lilith, a canon aroace, as also lesbian, ISN’T AN ISSUE - so long as they’re doing it respectfully for representation and not just shipping purposes, which I would assume aroace lesbians would do since it’s OUR identity we’re talking about.
Tl;dr; Lilith can be aroace lesbian. Anon needs to focus on the people actively being aphobic or actively erasing Lilith’s aroace identity - of which there are unfortunately too many - instead of assuming aroace lesbians are doing either or both of these things.
