Emma walked inside, and the moment that she stepped into the living room that was when she saw them. Brooklyn and Amelia almost kissing! Fuck. That was bad considering everything. So she cleared her throat which made Amelia jump back a little bit. “It’s getting late. How about I drive Brooklyn home and Amelia we will talk about this after I get back.” @littlebrooklynmatthews
Brooklyn got a fright when the door opened and suddenly the two of them weren’t close anymore. She bit down on her lip, clasping her hands and feeling like she’d gotten caught doing something wrong even though… had she? Brooklyn sighed, looking at Amelia and giving a little shrug. “Um… see you later.”
Admittedly Amelia already missed the closeness from Brooklyn. And hopefully this didn’t blow her chances or anything like that. Hearing Emma, she knew she was in trouble. But she wasn’t understanding why? Nodding her head at her mother’s words. “Yeah, okay.” She sighed some, looking back towards Brooklyn. “I’ll see you later. Call me? Or text me?” @emmaxwilliamson
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn’s smile grew a little as she looked back at Amelia, thinking she was pretty. She breathed in when Amelia tucked some hair behind her ear and something just caused her to shift a little and start leaning in to close the space between them.
Just as Amelia was about to lean in further and close the distance between them, the door opened. And the redhead jumped back a little bit. “Mum, wasn’t expecting you home so soon.” She cleared her throat a little bit because honestly she hadn’t been expecting her mother. Neither of them actually. So she was glad that it was just Emma.
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn smiled again, looking down at their hands as Amelia reached out and took hers. “Thanks…” She said quietly, blinking and moving her gaze back up towards the redhead, inching a little closer but not really noticing herself do it.
“Anytime, day or night.” Amelia spoke just as quietly, her own gaze moved to their hands for a moment. Honestly she didn’t want to let go so she didn’t. Instead her gaze moved back up to Brooklyn’s. Moving her free hand to tuck some hair behind the blonde’s ear, that was when she moved closer to her as well.
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn looked back at her and nodded. “It… it does help…” She admitted softly, biting her lip a little as she glanced down. She wasn’t sure what she was fully feeling but it was something.
“Good. That’s good. I’m glad that it does help.” And she really was. All she wanted to do was to help her. She cared so much about her. Reaching out, she took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Whatever you need I’m here anytime.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn nodded. Of course she’d heard all the stories but it was hard to imagine and get her parents to talk about it. It was like two different worlds but she did notice similarities in their worlds. Allie. God, she missed her. She smiled a bit, looking up at Amelia as she tucked some hair behind her ear. “Well, I guess… it hasn’t had much reason to be around…” She admitted.
“Which is completely understandable.” Amelia told her softly. Sure, she could see the similarities but there was also differences between their world and their parents world. “I wish I could help you somehow. And I hope hanging out with me does help some.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn nodded. “Yeah… my mum was so beautiful but it’s like I’m looking at different people, it’s hard to link them up as my parents.” She chuckled, but she figured most kids had that problem. She bit down on her lip gently as she looked back at Amelia. “No. My smile’s ugly..” She protested, shaking her head.
Amelia looked over at her at once again. “It just looks so different.” Reaching over, she grabbed a photo of Emma and Nina when they were younger. “See it doesn’t even look like them now and it’s hard to imagine.” Looking back at her, she reached out taking a chance to tuck some hair behind her hair. “No, it’s beautiful and one I have missed seeing around.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn grinned, nodding. “So old.” She chuckled. “Sometimes it seems that way… it’s hard to imagine they were ever… just like us. Y’know?” She shrugged, looking over at her and couldn’t stop her smile brightening. “Yeah?”
“Very much so.” Amelia nodded her head. “It is so hard to imagine. I mean I’ve seen photos of my mothers when they were younger. But it’s just hard to picture.” There was a smile that graced Amelia’s lips. “Yeah, I totally would. And I really have missed seeing that smile of yours.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn wished she could talk with her friends but she just felt so disconnected right now, from most people but Amelia really. She chuckled. “I mean, I guess they’re pretty old too, so.” Brooklyn joked. “Anyway, I bet they won’t even notice I’m gone.” Or maybe her mum would but she was being way overprotective and it was frustrating her.
“So our parents are just basically old.” Amelia chuckled lightly. “Sometimes I wonder if they were born that way.” The redhead joked, looking over at her for a moment. “I strongly doubt that. They probably noticed the moment that you left. I mean..I would.” She told her honestly.
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn moved inside and nodded. She figured Wyatt would be… distant. She was distant herself, though it didn’t seem that way with Amelia so that was good, right? “My mum and dad are watching 50 First Dates again.” She made a face, shaking her head. “It’s so old!”
Amelia was glad that Brooklyn wasn’t distant with her. It was just really hard for her to read her brother right now. Even though they had that twin connection. He just seemed so distant and she had no idea how to help him. “Really? My mums usually watch Imagine Me & You. Both are very old.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn smiled as she moved into the house after Amelia opened the door, feeling a little brighter just seeing her. “Hey.” She looked around and then turned back to Amelia, wondering if she should tell her about the text. Brooklyn didn’t know what any of it meant, what was going on. “So where is everyone?” She asked.
Amelia smiled back at her. Glad that Brooklyn came over, everything seemed to be brighter around her. “Hey again.” She chuckled nervously a little bit. Closing the door after the blonde came inside. Honestly she thought about telling her mother about the text message and Brooklyn as well it was just odd. “Let’s see Wyatt is I don’t even know, he’s being his distant self lately, and both my mums are still working. So it’s just us.”
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn made her way quickly through the dark streets towards Amelia’s house, eager to see her. Yes, maybe she had a bit of a crush on her… but Amelia was a good friend and she liked being around her. She knocked on the door when she got there, and then rang the bell just in case Amelia didn’t hear the knock. Looking over her shoulder, Brooklyn bit her lip. Who was texting her?
Amelia finished getting ready before she rushed downstairs. Answering the door making it seem like she didn’t rush. There was a smile on her lips the moment that she seen Brooklyn. “Hey, come on in.” She did her best to not think about the text she had gotten from whoever that was. Because it was probably someone just messing around right?
littlebrooklynmatthews:
“Yeah?” She smiled lightly, swinging a little bit more as she nodded. “Yeah, I can be there in a few…” The park wasn’t far off and she needed someone to talk to anyway and if that person was Amelia, even better. She stood up, looking around briefly, almost starting to feel paranoid. “I’ll see you soon.”
“Yeah, I could use the company and you wanted to talk.” Plus I miss you, she thought to herself. Argh. It was a hopeless crush. “Good, I can’t wait.” Amelia couldn’t help but smile more now. “See you soon.” She hung up and sprang up to get ready to see her. Somehow being in her good pajamas wasn’t exactly ideal to see Brooklyn in.
Welcome to the game. Seems like mommy and you have the same taste. -A
For a moment, she thought that it was Brooklyn texting her to say that she was already there. So there was a smile on her lips, but it faded until she read the message. “What?” She questioned more to herself. She knew that Imogen and her mother were friends but that was it right?
littlebrooklynmatthews:
Brooklyn smiled lightly, though she wasn’t sure she really felt like smiling much right now. “Yeah, especially in these big houses.” She nodded, thinking that being home alone at night in Baberton tended to have a creepy vibe. “I didn’t wanna be alone either…” Not after that text.
Amelia picked at some fuzz on her blanket, thinking about it for a moment with a slight smile on her lips. “Yeah and we have a big one.” She missed their first home. The one that grandpa Elliot gave them. But when Emma became mayor they moved into a bigger house. ‘Well you could always come over..if you want..” She offered, hoping that Brooklyn would.
@amelia–williamson
“Sorry to call so late, I just… I really needed to…” She shrugged. “I don’t know, talk to someone.” Brooklyn swung the swing she was sitting on in the park back a little, listening to the chain rattle as she looked over at Amelia, biting her lip.
“It’s okay..I was up actually. Neither of my mother’s are home yet, and Wyatt is well he’s still out. Kinda of creepy being here by myself.” She admitted, sitting up in her bed a little bit. Amelia had been doing homework but this way so much better.
“You’ve got to understand, my mother loved me, but I was not meant to exist. She loved me because it would have been more painful not to, like bruising a leg that’s already broken.”
