❛ YOU MIGHT WANNA DUMB THAT DOWN A BIT FOR ME . ❜ He straightened his posture , taking a step forward as an amused spark clashed against his normally darkened hues . This man had confidence . He was practically dripping with it . And while he was asking for clarification , nothing negative could be said about his intelligence . ❛ It’s been a day . ❜
“Sorry, those are just the fancy names for some of the ingredients. It took me a while to actually realized that sugar and salt could have different, and much more complicated names.” Amelia said as she put the list of ingredients down that she was looking for. “I’m looking for the cayenne pepper — do you know which aisle it’s down?”

She was sweet, and Ashton immediately liked her, finding her concerning tone to be much like his mother’s had been. She neglected to answer his question regarding her name, but he felt past the point of asking again and merely figured she didn’t want him to know. “It’s not. Just uh…it’ll pass.” He smiled. “Thank you though.”
Amelia had been deliberate in not being so forthcoming with her name and that had been to ensure that he was okay because she allowed their conversation to shift. When she felt assured he was telling her the truth, she let out a small sigh. “That’s good. I’m Amelia. Sorry, I just wanted to make sure that you really were okay. But if you say you are, I’ll believe you.”

“Ugh….yeah…” If he could even hold water down at this point. He wasn’t feeling too optimistic about it. “Sorry I snapped, body just kinda hurts all over. Can barely tolerate my shirt being on at the moment it’s just so goddamn cold out here.” He blinked his blurred vision and narrowed his eyes as he tried to focus on her, finding she didn’t look familiar to him. “Who are you?”
“No, it’s okay. All that matters is that you’re okay.” She whispered softly as she eyed the male, looking him over to see if he was sick or something. Perhaps he was supernatural but without any ability to tell — she wouldn’t mention it. “Well, maybe I can get you some place warmer and some medication. Do you think it’s food poisoning?”
campbellashes:
“Don’t touch me.” The words came out sharper than he’d meant them to, but when he was bent over a trash can in a cold sweat, shaking, and dry heaving as his stomach had already expelled what was in it, the last thing he wanted was someone’s hands on him. “Fuck…I’m fine, just….I’m fine.”
“I’m sorry,” the girl said as she stepped back and lifted her hands from the male after she rushed towards him to see if they were okay. Standing a few feet back, she refused to leave him by himself in case he needed something afterwards. “Do you want some water, maybe a mint?”

Perhaps there was some truth when people told Harlow that she really shouldn’t drink at the bar she worked at, but now she had a good buzz running through her and despite being a little taken aback by recent events, it didn’t stop her trying to have fun. She was her seventh or eighth vodka in before everything came crashing down, literally. The glass in her hand slipped and she watched in what could only be described as Hollywood blockbuster slow-motion style as it hit the table top and shards of glass scattered around her, luckily only managing to nick her arm a few times. Almost immediately she had her head in her hands, laughing at her own stupidity. Harlow didn’t even dare look up, she could feel the eyes on her, “Do you think you could just, oh I don’t know, forget you ever saw anything?”
Amelia watched the disaster in front of her and knew she was too far to do anything to prevent it. Bitting her lower lip, she watched the girl with an apologetic look on her face. “No, no. You don’t have to be embarrassed.” The girl said as she leaned forward and tried to help the girl, especially when she noticed the blood there. “Okay, we need some napkins.” Amelia commented as she peered around, trying to find something to wipe the blood on her arm with.

A ridiculous smile pulled at the edges of his lips, August seemingly always smiling when in the presence of Amelia. She simply had that effect. “Well —,” the word was drawn out, shoulders lifting as if that had been his exact plan from the very beginning. It hadn’t, but he did enjoy teasing her whenever he got the chance. As his shoulders returned to their lowered positions, he grinned evenly, “Do I, a man who risks his life every day for the citizens of this fine town, have a way to get in?” He voiced the question as if it were something casual, as if he weren’t praising himself at the same time.
Amelia couldn’t help but mirror the smile that etched across his face. Wides eyes peered up at him as she awaited this secret plan of his to get inside this fancy party. Images of the two jumping fences and pretending to be some rather important newlywed couple came to mind, but as he spoke — she could only laugh at her own stupidity. “You know, as a mere pastry chef, I forgot about the presence I’m in.” She said teasingly, though she would always look up to the male for what he did. “You’ve been holding out on me because now that I know you have benefits with risking your life for the greater good of man kind — I’m wondering what other secret advantages you’ve been hiding from me.” A grin framed her features to demonstrate her teases as she wrapped her hand around his arm. “Lead the way.” Pausing, she looked him over. “Your firefighter suit and some baby oil wouldn’t have hurt.”
My party. Tomorrow is the anniversary of my parents’ divorce. The party I always have to distract myself.

Inhale, exhale. It seemed all eyes were on her as Sybil took a cautious step back, already scheming to make a run for it and find Celeste. If she took off now, they surely couldn’t catch her–especially with those absurd things they had on their feet. Shoes? Possibly, she’d seen them in the books the Grandmaster kept in his library for personal use only. Either way, she barely had seconds to decide as she turned and bolted, rounding the corner of a building as she found herself colliding with another and stumbling back onto all fours. “–help me” She pleas, eyes wide as she brushes her scraped and now bleeding hands across her bare knees staring up at the stranger.
Meet Sybil, maiden to Celeste and one of the first two faes in play. You can read the plot drop regarding her here that helps set the scene, as well as about fae here.
Amelia whirled the corner and slammed into someone momentarily and all the air in her lungs escaped. “Shit,” she said softly with a tuck of her air behind her ear, eyeing the other. “Are you okay?” she questioned worriedly since they had knocked into one another quite hard. However, the slight worry on her face only increased tenfold when she heard the faith plea. “What’s wrong?” she asked, grabbing onto the others arm slightly, without thinking. All she knew was that the woman seemed to be in danger or in trouble.

founder’s day w/ @amelialunc
“So,” he started as he approached, stopping a few feet from the familiar woman, who seemingly grew infinitely more familiar as the days passed. “I heard the mayor is having barbecue at his house, and it’s supposedly a lot better than you’d think.” It was a rare sight to see August sober when he wasn’t currently working, but he’d decided to at least spend a fair amount of the festival without a drink in hand.
Amelia turned around when she heard the familiar voice of August mere feet away. “First, you find me without food in tow, and then to make it worse, you mention barbecue!” The brunette teased, smiling at the male she was always happy to see.”I hope you didn’t come here to taunt me with the fact that we aren’t invited.” The brunette said though she’d heard that many of the events going on was open to the public within town, but she didn’t think anyone could just walk into the mayor’s backyard. “Unless you have a way to get us in.” Frankly, she was always starving but that was neither here or there.
SAWYER.
❛ MONTHS , HUH ? ❜ The warlock wasn’t sure he’d ever last that long . He was impulsive yet impressively calculated for someone so reckless . The bracelet would’ve been gone within days , maybe even hours , or he simply would’ve forgotten about it . He wondered silently what it was like to want for so long . Must’ve been agonizing . ❛ Ah , but you’re right . A diamond can’t keep ya warm , no matter how hard ya hold it . ❜
AMELIA.
“Something like that, I’ve been trying to save up but it always turns to shit.” Amelia said with a sigh as she let her shoulder lift and fall. It seemed that whenever she found herself advancing in some kind of way, life knocked her down. Therefore, she simply didn’t try anymore. “I mean, that’s a little debatable. A pawned diamond could potentially keep you warm, but buying it will get you in debt. So, keeping the heat on in your apartment is probably the wisest of choices. Then again, I’ve never been wise in any way, so maybe you shouldn’t take my advice.”
Okay, enough of this shit. Don’t be so noble, okay.

WHAT WAS A CRIMINAL WITHOUT A PAST ? Who was Sawyer without that unparalleled desire to trick and lie ? To persuade and manipulate ? His reflection shined back at him , the window of the jewelry store allowing others to see the curious nature of his gaze . That necklace wasn’t worth THAT much , but damn it , he wanted it . He could’ve just waved his hand , taking it without a second thought . But where was the fun in that ? ❛ Buy a necklace . . . or keep my apartment ? ❜ The words were mumbled in humor , a light chuckle following as he shook his head .
Amelia had been minding her own business, simply walking by various stores she refused to peer into because she couldn’t afford any of the items inside. Though, when she heard a statement escape a nearby individual that sounded a little too similar to her own thoughts, she had to pause. “That’s what I’ve been asking myself this last few months, but it’s a bracelet. I vote the apartment, unfortunately.”

Eyes dropped to the mentioned muffins, August barely trying to hide the smile that curled the edges of his lips. “You keep bringing them food, and they may never let you leave.” He trailed eyes back to pleasant features, ones that were quickly literally burned to memory, “Nah, most everyone is just kind of lounging about. Come on, we’ll just pop in and out.” He offered as he stepped over to the door, pulling it open to allow her entrance to the firehouse. His eyes were focused down the hallway of the building, the low chatter from the rest of his crew filtering out towards them, but then he heard her words, once more securing his attention. “Are you asking me on a date?” He teased with a bright smile, looking back at her now.
“I guess that’s a good thing,” Amelia said with a little laugh since she liked to know that people both enjoyed her food and her company. Fixing the purse that hung from her shoulder, she nodded her head towards him with a smile. “It’s nice weather to do it. Not the nicest weather outside,” she said as she peered up at the cloudy sky. At least it wasn’t sunny and they were all stuck inside. Stepping forward, she began to follow up and step inside. Pausing momentarily when he asked the question, she couldn’t help but laugh nervously as she mulled over his words. “What if I am?”
