A neglected porch roof with cedar shake shingles allowed easy access for raccoons to enter. Raccoons made themselves at home in the porch ceiling of this Bloomington condo. An thorough inspection by Ivan, our Bloomington animal removal technician, revealed two raccoons in the ceiling. A positive set was made with a pair of traps and both raccoons were removed after the first night. A temporary repair patch was installed to keep other animals out until permanent repairs could be made.

The rotten roofing on this porch was an easy access point for a pair of raccoons in this Bloomington condo.
A positive set, or “the only way out” for a pair of raccoons meant, they were trapped in the first night after the traps were placed on the roof.
This temporary roof patch will prevent more damage from raccoons and more animals from entering until the roof can be replaced.
Raccoons are adept at making holes in roofs to gain access. It is important to keep the roof maintained, and shingles replaced when they are worn, for moisture prevention, but also because animals find it very easy to enter when the roof covering is rotted. Another common place for raccoons to cause damage is near gutters. American Animal Control ® LLC offers gutter cleaning as a prevention service. When left uncleaned, debris causes water to dam up and can cause premature rotting of soffit and fascia.

The homeowners association at Heritage Lake, Indiana had a large population of Canada Geese causing problems for residents and boaters. Gabe is the technician who was able to round up the geese from the waters and transport them away.
Canada Geese are a big problem for many people because they congregate in large numbers at times, and their feces is a big mess. They can also be territorial, and protective of the area perceived as their own. When Canada Geese feel threatened, they will often charge at people, especially children.

Heritage Lake was overrun with Canada Geese. The Homeowner’s Association did the right thing and called in American Animal Control ® LLC
As you can see, the geese were rounded up into a netted holding area, and were later transferred into a trailer for removal.

Canada Geese removal from Heritage Lake, Putnam County The homeowners association at Heritage Lake, Indiana had a large population of Canada Geese causing problems for residents and boaters.
Tim has a client near Fort Wayne with a beautiful deck. He recently installed a custom deck barrier around the perimeter on the under side. The client was having trouble with animals getting under the deck.
When animals get under the deck, a lot of problems can arise. When groundhogs dig a burrow under the deck, they can undermine the integrity of the footings, or even the house foundation. Other animals like raccoons, feral cats, opossums and more can make the underside of a deck their home. Often times an animal that is sick or old and about to die will find a place like a deck to hide and die. It is smelly and often times hard to access the dead animal under the deck without removing boards on top.
American Animal Control, LLC ® technicians install quite a few deck barriers every year. Custom-cut thick gauge wire cloth is buried deep enough to deter animals digging under the deck, and then an attractive solid wood barrier is often installed over the mesh, giving stability and can be painted or stained to match.

Osceola, Ind. – A client called American Animal Control, LLC for a bat problem after having another company out for two bats in the living quarters of the house. The other company’s technician did a partial inspection and told the customer he didn’t have a bat problem.
The customer subsequently had 6 more bats enter the living space of the home.
Nate, the wildlife removal technician in the Osceola, Indiana area, did a complete inspection and found no evidence of bats in the attic. He did, however, find a crack in the chimney mortar with bat feces present. This was a tiny void between the chimney stone and flue. Upon further inspection of the chimney, bats were following airflow down to an electrical outlet in the fireplace mantle and entering the living space through an almost impossibly tiny hole.
The outlet on this chimney flue is the threshold into our client’s home. Bats get in through tiny areas!

A bat exclusion and repair plan was discussed with the homeowner and the family can now sleep peacefully at night.

Travis recently responded to a “noises in the attic” type of call from a client. The inspection of the property lead to the roof where an old vent pipe was sticking out. There is obvious evidence of squirrels chewing their way into the attic.
