Cane Toad Skeleton, Bufo marinus
Based on a skeleton I saw when I was volunteering at my school’s natural history museum (which is a super cool place, you should all go check it out)
also I never want to draw so many tiny bones ever again

Hepatus Epheliticus, Calico Crab
I’m gonna be honest, this was one of the tougher ones I’ve done so far... Crabs are weird and very very textured
I’m also not 100% sure this is a calico crab because the markings are so faded (I was referencing a preserved specimen), but it’s my best guess.
Chinese Giant Salamander, Andrias davidianus
Referenced from a skeleton on display at the Orlando Museum of Osteology.
Anaxyrus fowleri (Fowler’s toad)
Found this guy in my front yard- he wasn’t too happy about being contained, but hopefully I’ve more than made it up to him by commemorating him in art form (I made sure to put him back when I was done taking reference pictures)
Might make this into a series as this is the second amphibian-related picture I’ve done...We’ll see!
Procyon lotor (Common Raccoon)
Photo study of one of the specimens in my collection, acquired via Bonebox.
Done with Paint Tool Sai.
Corythaeola cristata, Great Blue Turaco.
I might post part 2 to this at some point, but this bird is just so goofy and not majestic looking at all when viewed from the front.
p.s. the reason the eye is all weird is because this was a museum specimen :) (as are the majority of illustrations I will post here in the future)
Domestic Chinchilla; skull acquired via #bonebox
Update: Sorry for the double post, still not used to instagram’s weird instant crop feature :/
