“SISU” A dear friend asked me to paint her a piece with reflection on her all time favourite quote by Roosevelt.. “the man in the arena” a quote that totally embodies her character. When I was researching this piece, I also discovered the word SISU. The word SISU conveys so beautifully her ability to be gutsy, resolute, strong like a mountain, whilst equally full of equaniminity, calm and composed and with great presence of mind and love. Let’s get our SISU on! Golly dang I love this word .... if I were brave enough to get a tattoo - I would tattoo this word somewhere on my cleanskin- but I haven’t enough Sisu or commitment at present 😂HOWEVER!!
