in terms of my wip, i’m thinking about doing three “volumes”

the first focuses on clare and xavier, the next on ella and livia, and the last on cal and kennedy. currently considering whether i want to post tiny sections of each that somehow connect, so possibly look out for that. but for now, i’d like to share tiny thoughts about their stories but in terms of songs from taylor swift’s new album ‘folklore’.

clare and xavier’s story is like cardigan. friends, foes, lovers. they’re the only ones who know, but even they don't know. and that's the excitement. the song relies so much about knowing someone but feeling used, lied to. and that's what happens with them.

livia and ella’s story is like seven. best friends in love, so in love just wanting to run away but not being able to. it’s important for me to note that they often have picnics in the fields, and that’s what drew me to seven as their song.

cal and kennedy is more complicated, and it took me ages to decide on just one song. at first i wanted to say illicit affairs, but that wasn’t it. it wasn’t what i wanted their story to come across as. so i kept listening, and one line struck me, and i knew it was their song. “and i can go anywhere i want / anywhere i want, just not home.” my tears ricochet is honestly that perfect almost enemies to lovers song. to paraphrase, if you hated me so much, why are you crying for me? and that’s enough for me to love the song and it drives their story. 

just something i wanted to share, because my brain couldn't stop thinking.

TBH I'm not super invested in book!Aaron but it seems pretty obvious to me that the books are entirely Neil's POV and Neil isn't nearly as dedicated to finding out what makes Aaron tick? And NEIL seems to get that the twins fundamentally are not on the same page about anything, which makes Aaron's behavior *seem* hostile but is actually a response to tons of painful shit? And if we trust our boy Neil, shouldn't we trust that Aaron is 100% *worth* effort on Andrew's part to reconcile/understand?

hmm yes i agree with this. i think that if we have the time to delve into neil and andrew then we can also take the time to explore aaron’s past and why he does what he does. i think, fundamentally, that andrew and aaron’s differences are what make them closer. once they start going to therapy and actually learning about each other, i think they would get closer. something about aaron being a premed student and andrew majoring in criminal justice. both are analytical and curious of how people work, on different spectrums. but it’s still there and it’s present enough that neither would just outright hate the other. and once they deal with everything, i do believe that neil trusts aaron too. they have more in common than they realize.

sorry for rambling but i just... i love thinking about them and how because they are so different they are just as similar. that is what makes me love their relationship so much aaaaaa

oh thank you!! i honestly dont mind it. i just hate for y’all (the other aaron stans) to have a bad reputation. whenever they say something super cruel and generalizing, i like to put in my little comments. it just makes me feel a little better. because truly, you all are like my children.

Andrew may be a worse person but at least he’s not a homophobe” like?? A character is suddenly completely off limits because of one character trait???? Like yeah, he’s a homophobe whatever but everyone’s making it sound like his entire character is built around that one thing and it just makes me upset

i wont delete this ask because i’ve been upset about it too in the last few days. as someone who spends their time solely on twitter, i get easily upset over this stuff. they make it seem like aaron personally victimized them. i see all of the discourse and i often ask myself why it happens and if other people are affected in the same way.

 im the unfortunate (or fortunate) one who is at the center of it all. i am the loudest aaron stan on twitter with the biggest bite. im not afraid to yell at them and tell them theyre wrong, so its easy for me to be dragged into this. so i completely understand what youre saying. but im also the one who seriously works to defend our names.

as aaron stans, we have this terrible image and no one actually bothers to listen to us just because of a character we like. hell, i was even told to get therapy and to asess myself because of it.

basically what i want to say is while im mad and angry and upset too, i wont let them take this from me. it shouldnt matter. so dont let them take it from you either. it’s too much energy anyways.

I firmly believe all the best stories happen at WalMart self checkout, I was there at 3 in the morning one time buying Froot Loops, and there was a tall, tall country dad there and his little 5 year old daughter.

And when buying my Froot Loops, I dropped them. And I said "fuck. my loops." And I remember, like, in the back hearing, [gruffer, southern accented voice] "Yeah! Dont be afraid to speak!"

[normal voice] And I was like, "What?"

And he was like, [accented voice] "Youre angry, about your cereal. Say it. Say Fuck with your chest!"
