wait i’m actually short circuiting around this recent detail where carmy has a flash of sydney’s face when they first met after he drops the lamb from this post.

a completely, never before seen deep cut, mind you. a personal, singular carmy recollection. that didn’t air in their initial meeting. that we the audience have never seen or been privy to.

fast forward to him telling her about the review. he doesn’t look at her while describing what was said as he’s processing + recounting it. trying to be as specific + thorough as possible. until right before he breaks the news that it’s two stars. only then does he look at her face in order to seer another precious, preeminent memory of her into his mental framework for safe keeping…

The way they did the blood orange hamachi reveal in the most casual way in the midst of kitchen chaos but still managed to make it the most intimate fckn thing ever. The way she teasingly told another white lie but he caught on – again. Just like when they met. His reaction was priceless. Jeremys acting was ON POINT. And we need to talk about how they used the zoom in on him stirring the boiling pot of jus afterwards as a visual tool to externalize and convey his feelings to the viewer??? There was no other reason to highlight this part after her confession?? I know some people think he didn't react enough but this shit was insane omg

Ending this GORGEOUS scene and that hug with all of our full focus on Syd’s face was such a beautiful, directorial choice by Storer. Because she’s been the heart of this whole thing all along.

Also something something about humans only truly knowing ourselves through our relationships with others and it’s only in seeing Syd cry, smile, chuckle and look so loved on, that we also know that Carmy is finally happy.

The phrase “I don't know but there is theories” is actually insane cause…is Storer reading our metas? They could have say “there is suspicious” or there is “rumors” but the word theories maybe sounds so much to me like a hit to the audience theorizing in the bear

I LOVE this and whooped with joy when I heard Pete say those words. Because theorising is scholarly work. And this fandom is full of INCREDIBLY smart people who respect the text of this show (just like its creators do).

Theories aren’t pure speculation. They require evidence and arguments to be made. Anyway I didn’t take this as a hit…I took it completely as a compliment 😂❤️

I know some people saw it as a dig.

But I see it as a compliment given that this ship and fandom has made so many accurate call outs throughout the seasons to the point where I've wondered if they read anything.

So when people say its an open ended ship it's usually coming from people who arent theorizing and dissecting the show.
