The theme for this month's Divoom contest was Paws2025, animals in space. I'd love to be purely whimsical about it, but I can't help but feel some heartache thinking about Laika.

Legs freehanded.

For the legs:

Start by slip stitching into the magic circle idk how to describe it im not a pattern maker.

Round 1: Chain 6

Round 2, which makes the toes: (chain 2, SC1 back into the second chain on the hook, Slip Stitch back into the last chain of round 1) 3 times.

Round 3: SC 5 down the remaining chains from round 1. Slip Stitch into the same hole of the magic circle or whatever.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Maybe I'll come back to this and write it down properly but this is mostly for me cause I'll know wtf I mean.

Another walk to help out my student. They chose a tricky angle, sort of isometric perspective.

First image is page 301 from The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams, regarding how flexible objects wave as they change direction (as well as how a whip's action works, on the upper half of the page).

The second image is an animated gif I made, which I traced from the page, to show the principle in motion as a way to assist anyone who may have difficulty visualizing the motion on the still page.
