Sherlolly - “A Study in Ink”
🌷 give 'im kisses
“Are you sure you have to go?….Wait, don’t answer that. I know you do and I don’t want you to feel guilty.”
There was a case in France and they’d asked for him and of course he was going. And because she was going to miss him wasn’t a good enough reason to ask him not to be Sherlock Holmes. Not really, anyway. Not just because he was going to be gone for ‘at least a week, maybe more’ depending on how quickly this whole serial killer business could get wrapped up. And no, she could not go with him even though she was a good assistant. He’s targeting women, Molly. And last I checked, you fall into that category.
“I’m just going to miss you,” she said before pressing her lips to his soundly to punctuate that sentiment. “Very much.”
I wish there was a way to block things that trigger my trypophobia.
I doubt people tag for that often.
I just had to hide an ad on Facebook for the new AHS season because it was making me feel sick and now I’m worried it’s going to come up on Tumblr.

The kiss deepened and Molly could hear his silent atonement in the way he was kissing her back. She tried to tell him through her own kiss that it was okay. That it was all okay if it led them right to this moment.
Her hands slipped behind his neck, fingers itching to slide into the unruly locks she had always admired, but they settled for just playing with the very ends. She was dizzy with his hands on her body and the lack of oxygen from the kiss so when they part, her breathing was heavy. But, she noticed, so was his.
“You’re assuming I don’t wake up every morning planning for the day to go just like this.”
She smirked at him, cheeks flushed, lips tingling, still reeling from this turn of events.
Sherlock tended to know exactly what to do and exactly when to do it, but in that moment – he had no idea what to do with his hands. Drawing back a little, he was unable to hide the smile tugging at the corner of his lips, observing her reddened cheeks and rosy lips. Realizing he likely had some kind of lip formula on his mouth, Sherlock couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
“ You were there for all those years. I’m surprised you’ve put up with me for this long. ” He teased. With how sentimentally detached he usually was, Sherlock found himself questioning why he had leaned forward to gently rest his forehead to hers. He didn’t pull away, though, one of his hands reaching up to his neck to take one of hers and entwine their fingers.
“Me too,” Molly joked as she looked up at him fondly.
When he pressed his forehead to hers she closed her eyes and let out a breath like a sigh. It was a surprisingly intimate gesture from him, although so was kissing and so were all those cheek kisses he’d been giving her over the years. He was a far more sentimental and feeling man than he tried to let on.
“I’d do it all again.”
She curled her fingers around his like they were a lifeline, like they were something precious she didn’t want to lose. They were, he was.

not Mrs. Hudson). John and Greg and the rest of the NSY were out trying to track him down, and while Molly had great faith in the lot of them, the truth was they weren’t Sherlock Holmes. Even Mycroft looked worried when he came to the morgue to see when the last time she’d seen his brother.
It was going on day three and Molly was working the overnight shift at Bart’s when she got a call from Greg. Sherlock had been located and he was en route to Bart’s in an ambulance. He assure her that Sherlock was fine, but she still thought the worst as she rushed up to A&E. When the ambulance pulled in, the lights were off (good sign) and when the back doors opened, instead of the technicians wheeling out a gurney with Sherlock on top, he was instead pushing them aside and telling them that he could walk perfectly fine, thank you.
He looked a bit beat up and dirty, but clearly he was doing fine. There was such a relief in seeing him not only alive, but being his usual, bastard self, that she rushed towards him. When asked later, she would say that the intent had been to give him a hug.
“Sherlock,” she said as she looked up at him, relief in her voice.
And before she knew what she was doing she leaned up and pressed her mouth to his.
It only took a millisecond to realize what she was doing was not what she should be doing and she immediately stepped away from him, eyes wide in shock at herself.
“Oh…oh my…I’m sorry,” she stuttered out, face turning red. “I didn’t mean…I shouldn’t have…”
sclvethecase:
All those horrible things he had said to her – the guilt was poured into the kiss, begging silently for her forgiveness even though he knew she had already given it. His hands were firmly yet gently cupping either side of her head, slender fingers running through her hair ever so delicately. He had been so completely unprepared for this feeling. You would think that after all the hours he’d spent with Molly - watching her talk, laugh and frown - that he would know all there was to know about her lips. But he could never have imagined how warm they would feel pressed up against his own.
God, he’d heard her laugh so many times. Awkward laughs, sad laughs, giggly laughs – this, by far, was his favorite. For once in his life, there wasn’t a case. There wasn’t a high. There wasn’t a world full of people who wanted to hurt each other. Allowing her to deepen the kiss a little, Sherlock’s hands moved – one to the small of her back and the other to her waist. After a moment or two, he pulled back – breathing with a bit of difficulty.
“ Not how you planned today going, is it? ”
“You are about to see it in action for yourself,” the Doctor told her, “What about this doesn’t seem serious? There’s some kind of dome covering your city and you just walked into a police box that’s bigger on the inside. Do you think most police boxes are bigger on the inside? I don’t think they are, although I’ve also never been in an actual one. That might be for the best.”
He began to push buttons and pull switches. “Hold on tight,” he told her as he pulled the last lever for the TARDIS to take off.
Molly slowly walked further into the...whatever it was and watched as the odd man moved around from here to there pushing buttons and levers and god, what was she doing? This must be some crazy dream.
She didn’t even get into cars with strange men, never mind police boxes that aren’t police boxes.
When he told her to hold on, she quickly grabbed on to a railing nearby and braced, for what, she wasn’t sure. Suddenly everything lurched and it felt like she was going to throw up for a second and then it just stopped.

Joe thought the offer over briefly. He wondered what kind of condition the vagrant would be in, and ultimately the fear of not being able to identify him from a distance and prolonging the experience led him to elect against the viewing window option. He checked his watch. He’d have to be at work soon.
“Err… no, that’s alright.” In a strange way, he felt like he’d be dishonoring the dead by taking the coward’s way out. Poor guy hardly knew anybody. The least anyone could do was look him in the eye one last time, face to face. “Thanks, uhm, for the offer, though.”
@amongdeadthings.
Molly nodded and moved to the top of the sheet covering the body. She had certainly seen bodies in much worse condition, but the man had been beat up pretty well, so his face had contusions and bruising. And, really, no matter what the condition, a dead body was still a dead body and for those who didn’t see them every day, they were off-putting.
“You tell me when you’re ready,” she said to the man across from her.
sclvethecase:
Somewhere in the back of his head, Sherlock appreciated her attempts to reassure him; but this definitely didn’t show. “ You know, four to six school-age children die each year on school transportation vehicles. ” Statistics were going to be the death of him someday. “ I should’ve just driven to get her. ”
“While any deaths are terrible, you realize that those statistics actually prove a good case for school transport considering the amount of pupils shuttled and the general occurrence of traffic incidents in London daily,” Molly pointed out, always amused when she was the one using better deductive reasoning out of the two of them.
“Never mind the fact that you most likely have a same or higher probability of getting in an accident yourself. Especially since you hardly ever drive.”

“ It’s true. What I said. I didn’t realize it until that moment, but… it’s true ”.
A lot could be taken away from Sherrinford, but Sherlock felt like there was something missing. A missing puzzle piece that had been there before, but had been lost. Being close to Molly made him feel as if… he were close to finding it. It took much more effort to admit this than he would care to let on. He could see the confusion in her eyes. The curiosity – the gears in her mind working – trying to figure out what he was referring to. He sighed softly, and as if to prove his point – he moved.
One hand seeking the side of her face and the other gently holding her elbow, he leaned down. Slowly, inexorably, he pressed his lips to Molly’s. It was soft and gentle and chaste and maybe there were no fireworks or sparks, but it was better than that – it was a wave of warmth that filled him up, spilling out from his heart and the warmth of the morgue attendant’s lips on his and rushing to every corner of his body: the curve of his soles, the crooks of his elbows, the tips of his ears. Every inch of him was saturated with love; an emotion he had considered a foreign concept up until now.
Molly heard the words, saw Sherlock’s uncharacteristically earnest expression, knew to what he was most likely referring (it was all she could think about since that dreadful day), but her mind didn’t really believe. It didn’t think that he could possibly mean what she wanted him to mean. He couldn’t be saying that those words she practically forced from his mouth held the same meaning as her’s had. Having that sort of hope was a fool’s game that she gave up long ago. Or tried to.
But then he moved closer and suddenly it was back with a vengeance along with a hearty dose of surprise as he drew closer still. Her mind was racing and she couldn’t breathe as finally (finally!) his lips pressed to hers, so tenderly, so gently. And then all felt still. Her eyes slipped shut and her focus narrowed to the place where their mouths met. She pressed her lips back against his gently, worried that he might disappear at any moment.
When they parted, she opened her eyes to look up at him. Her cheeks had gone a bit rosy and her lips quirked up. And in his face, she could see that it was true. He was feeling it right now and her chest blossomed with the knowledge, with the confirmation.
She let out a small laugh of pure, surprised joy and then leaned up to press her lips to his this time - still chaste but in a more firm manner. How long had she hoped for this moment?
toldabetterstory:
You are not someone who needs constant discussion to consider time to be spent well with others. In fact, most of your interactions with others would have gone over better if instead the two of you ( mostly you ) had remained silent —- yet, Molly is one of the select few you have never minded the company of that much. She isn’t immune to your moods; there are still always points when solitude is what you require. Yet she seems to understand your changing weather.
But Molly confirms what you realised; it won’t just be you & Molly anymore soon. In a matter of weeks, there will be a third person that came from the both of you ( but you steadfastly agree that mostly Molly ). What will you do when your senses are overloaded, but you cannot lock yourself away? How will it go over when as your child grows up, to have someone as unpredictable as you? Therapy had made a difference, but it doesn't solve everything. As soon as you heard the news, you had even begun taking some of the recommended medication. It wasn’t unhelpful — just not something you were fond of.
FOCUS. The time for negativity isn’t now. Be present. “ why waste time on three names, when i already told you the one perfect name. ” So you had to force the smile a bit when you spoke; that doesn’t make it ungenuine. Playing into the distraction helps, you’ve found. At least as a temporary fix.
“I can hear you worrying yourself still,” Molly says quietly, instead of taking the lighter bait of once again telling him they’re not raising a Sherlock Jr. The hand not curved protectively around her bump, reaches out to cover his.
Truthfully, his worrying is loud even if it’s only in his head. She can tell when he’s off, when he’s running his mind in endless loops, turning over every possibility and impossibility too. She can also tell he’s trying to push it aside, but can’t seem to manage it. A trip out of the flat and some light banter about something like baby names is sometimes enough to get him out of his own head. Tonight does not seem like one of those times.
“What can I do?”
sclvethecase replied to your post “Going on two days of a stomach bug. Fingers crossed that I finally...”
Hope you feel better! :(
Thank you! I’m definitely feeling way better than I was over the weekend, even if I’m still having some residual tummy issues. :/ That thing really knocked me out.

“ I don’t trust public transportation, ” Sherlock muttered, foot tapping with a bit of anxiety as he stood outside of the flat, watching the road. “ Her bus is five minutes late. It’s unacceptable. ”
“Sherlock, you know that a bus that’s five minutes late is hardly a new occurrence in this city,” Molly reminded him gently. She knew he was easily worried when it came to his daughter. “I’m sure she’s just fine. She’s better with public transport than you are.”
Molly smiled over at him.

Fitz considered a moment before answering. Wanting to give an honest answer that was also an accurate picture of what she might expect. “We do for the most part. There’s the occasional row but we have our own space and it seems to keep that to a minimum. Mostly, we’re like family,” he said truthfully.
Molly nodded at his answer.
“Alright,” she said. “That doesn’t sound half bad. I suppose I could get used to living in close quarters with people again.”
It was just another aspect of this offer that she would have to take into consideration. She could feel a Pros and Cons list in her near future and a call with her best friend. This wasn’t a decision she could make lightly.
“I guess that’s all my questions for now. Um...but I’m sure I’ll think of more. Oh! I guess I do have one more. The pay....I mean, I hate to talk money, but is there a number with this offer? And...benefits?”
She looks slightly uncomfortable at having to bring it up, but honestly, Molly has no idea what salaries are like at S.H.I.E.L.D.
