After everything was resolved between Al, Erica, and Nevada, Albuquerque was finally able to be loyal to his wife once again. He still felt guilty about the whole thing, but thankfully, she was willing to forgive him. So he soon found himself at Fort Eden again looking for his wife until Tulsa approached him. He frowned as the other male spoke. So he must've found out about Al's little jealous streak.

"Yeah, that's me. But ya can call me Albuquerque. Yer Tulsa right?"

"I'll stick with Mr. Santa Fe, thanks. And mmhmm. That's me."

Tulsa couldn't help himself, he thrived when pushing peoples buttons. And this one was an easy target with the way he'd looked at him the last time.

"So here to visit the missus? I know where she is, we can walk together."

So he had heard Santa Fe's husband and her had gotten back together. But when the man showed back up- Tulsa didn't have it in him to just walk by...especially after the way he'd made him jealous before.

"Oh hey look who came back! Mr. Santa Fe himself!"

As she spoke, Joel ran his hands along her sides. Tess just had an effect on him. She truly was the first woman he's ever loved and cared for like this. Sure, there was Sarah's mom, but that was more of a fling than true love.

"Oh, I know, boss."

"Good...and I do kinda love it when you call me that."

Tess smirked as she looked up at him, a light hum left her lips as his hands moved over her body. Maybe the base would be good to at least get a break for more moments like this.

"So we give it a try, and hope for the best..."

Aaron nodded in return, finding comfort in her as she rubbed his back. Thinking about the situation more. If this was a lot for him, then it must be a lot for Emma too. He was happy that she had her boyfriend.

"Yeah, exactly."

"And if she lives close, like you said she does, we can keep an eye out for her. No big deal."

Even if this was a lot, and a huge adjustment- this was still good news. Their niece was safe, and healthy. And with a stroke of luck living relatively close by.

"Can I get you anything? Do anything?"

Eli rolled his eye and continued to walk along the fence, not bothering to give Tulsa more fuel. He had to be the bigger person here but damn it wasn't he annoying. As much as Eli disliked the other male, he couldn't kick him out. Tulsa did indeed pull his weight around the base.

"Let's just get this over so I don't have to see your ugly mug any longer."

Oh he lived to annoy the man, and he never got tired of that as he chuckled beside him.

“Love you too, buddy. Love you too.”

For now he walked along near his old colleague, keeping his eyes peeled for anything amiss. He might be a shithead, but he did care about the people here.  Which was why he decided to bring up something neutral to talk about. “Saw your grandson the other day. JJ is getting pretty big, ain’t he?”

Eli could feel a headache coming on. Why the hell did he do this to himself? He knew this would happen. But with Eli only having one eye, it was safer to have another person. He sighed to himself.

"Don't you ever shut the fuck up? Don't you get tired of hearing your own voice?"

Why Eli ever let him in to the base in the first place - let along STAY was beyond him. He figured deep down the man in question didn't truly hate him...even if he did strive the drive him crazy. He figured no one couldn't deny that Tulsa pulled his own weight in the community. He was just annoying about it.

"Eli, unless you're having a senior moment, both you and I are well aware that those might as well have been a rhetorical question."

At first, Milwaukee said nothing out of shock. He wasn't sure if this girl was for real or if she was joking. Honestly, he couldn't tell. But she did seem super confident about it.

"Oh yeah? I don't blame you," He replied. "Never thought of visiting there or any other landmarks. What was it like?"

Her mind started to wander, thinking about the landmarks she'd been too...which for her were mostly big name designer stores in order to cultivate her perfect pink vegan friendly wardrobe. So when he spoke up, she tilted her head.

"...the sex or the White House?"

"Yeah? I'm glad cuz I'm fond of ya too."

Al smiled as he confessed that. It really made him happy to hear her say that. It almost made him forget what he was even thinking about. At the mention of Flagstaff, Al just shook his head. He can understand where Nevada was coming from. There were some days when he wished he never met the kid.

"Yeah alright. Then I promise that I'll be okay."

"You better."

And with that, Nevada pressed another kiss to his lips. This time it was slower and softer before she pulled back ever so slightly. She grinned a little, still barely inches from his lips.

"Because you know I'll hold you too that."

"Oh, I'm sure, still super smart, though. Yeah? What made you leave the fridge?"

"So I met a guy, and he was kinda cute. And let's be honest, I kinda wanted to get laid. And I did, like a bunch of times. In the White HOUSE!"

Okay so Madison was kind of an over-explainer but how often did you get to tell people you had sex in the White House? Especially nowadays.

Aaron pondered her question for a moment. Honestly, he was relieved that she was alive and at the same time there was a bit of guilt and regret. If only Dan was alive...

"Alright, I guess... It's a lot to take in, you know?"

"Yeah, it is. I mean the situation of her going missing and her dad...that was a lot on its own. Now this? Yeah, a lot is an understatement."

Syd gently rubbed his back, they were already both under the pressures of moving, raising a child, and changing jobs...Aaron didn't need more stress.

"But we'll have them over for dinner, we'll stay in touch. And we'll keep moving forward together."

Albuquerque gladly kissed her back. It was times like this that he wished they were more than friends with benefits, but at the same time, he still felt a tad bit guilty because he still did love his ex-wife, if she's even still alive. But he also loved Nevada. He was just in a weird situation. After the kiss, he smirked and nodded.

"Course I will. I'm indestructible."

"You better be. I'm kinda really fond of you." Nevada stroked her fingers across his stubble as she kept the mood light. However complicated-not complicated this 'relationship' was, she was fine with that. She liked the agreement they had. But of course, she wanted him to come back.

"But also I don't need that kid following me around like a puppy next."

"That's good. No way you actually lived in a fridge? That's actually pretty smart. I don't think even a Hawking could open one of those."

"I did! The only thing that sucks was it was so cold, so I always had to wear my parka and everything." Hearing it was smart made Madison grin wide. "Thank you. I thought about that really hard."

"Yeah, it was my idea."

St. Paul smirked, yes he was the one to come up with the idea of going by the twin cities. He just found it funny and ironic. His brother didn't protest it as much so it was good in St. Paul's eyes.

"True. I'm sure he's okay."

He commented more for himself than anything. His brother was after all the smart one among them. There was hardly any doubt that Minneapolis was fine.

"Was that before the apocalypse or after?"

She didn't care of small talk, but she was curious how many people had adopted the city name trend during the apocalypse. When he mentioned his brother again, she half debated offering to help. She did understand the need to keep your sibling safe. She sighed.

"You want some help trying to find him?"

"And you're doing a bang-up job of it."

He had a point there, Eli did invite him to go on patrol. Of course, Tulsa wasn't his first pick he was just the only one available. It was just his luck. Sure, he could've gone out on his own but it was safer with an extra set of eyes.

"Yeah, it is."

"Well, I was always an overachiever."

Or he wasn't but they both knew that. He'd spent a good chunk of his life giving Eli grief in one way or another. The only ones truly saved from Tulsa's bs- mostly, was funny enough the other man's family. Or at least the kids.

"You old softy."

"Just us plus her boyfriend and another kid who also has powers."

Aaron didn't know much about her boyfriend or this other kid that she was taking care of. He just knew that the kid also shared Emma's gifts. And for the boyfriend? He didn't know what to expect there. As long as she was happy that's all that mattered.

This all felt like a lot; and Syd wasn't entirely sure about any of it. But she trusted Aaron, and she was happy Emma wasn't still missing or heaven forbid-dead.

"Okay...okay. How are you feeling about all of this?"

Joel chuckled lightly as she moved closer. Once she was close enough, he put his hands on her waist. It wasn't very often that they could have a moment like this and he wouldn't waste it. He gently kissed her lips, and after the kiss, he pulled back with a smile.

"I'm sure you'll figure something out for me to do."

She happily returned the kiss until he pulled back, a tight smirk crossed her lips. Maybe this could work...if this Fort Eden place wasn't full of a bunch of children like Babylon was.

"Just don't be expecting a honey-do list or anything. That's not really my style."

"'m sure ya have."

Maybe the zombies were truly starting to change and Albuquerque didn't know how to feel about it. Part of him was concerned for safety reasons while the other part was excited for the challenge.

"I've seen em around, haven't actually spoken to em. If they're sayin' it, it must be true. Guess time will tell."

She knew what he was like, knew the sort of tomfoolery he'd do out there knowing something worst than a regular zombie was out there. Nevada went over to him, and gently took a hold of his jaw before she placed a quick kiss to his lips.

"Just be careful, okay?"
