You may mess up, but youâre not a mess up.
You may make a mistake, but you are not a mistake.
You may screw up, but you are not a screw up.
You may fail, but you are not a failure.
You are not your downfalls.

reminders for the overworked soul
you donât need to be productive all the timeÂ
you donât need to have productive breaksÂ
expand your definition of âproductiveâ to include non-academic thingsÂ
donât measure your worth by the number of things you do or how pretty your bujo isÂ
remember to have fun and little breaks between work
you are studying/working to become more informed, to learn about the things that excite you - not to check off your to-do lists Â
you donât need to monetise or make your hobbies productive; they are lovely on their ownÂ
you are lovely on your own

types of study breaks for every situation
if you realize youâve been studying for hours: grab a snack to refuel your body and watch a sitcom to refuel your brain. then back to the books.
if youâre feeling stressed out: take some deep breaths, text your friends, maybe stare at a wall for a few minutes. gather yourself.
if you canât seem to focus: get moving and get outside. take out the garbage, check your mail box, maybe walk your dog. just get moving and get fresh air. itâll help bring you back.
if thereâs something else going on in your life and you canât get it off your mind: write down whatâs going through your head, sort of like a diary entry. itâll help you work things out.
if youâre just mentally and physically exhausted: set a timer for 25-30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and youâll hit REM and youâll wake up feeling just as tired. once you wake up, get some caffeine in you.
if the material is boring as hell: find another way to study. see if thereâs a crash course video online about it or draw out what youâre trying to learn in diagrams and pictures to make it fun.
if people around you wonât shut up: listen to some music. soundtrack and classical music is always good because they wonât absorb you as much as music with lyrics. white noise (like ocean waves, rain sounds, etc.) also works.
if you only half understand a concept: call/message a friend whoâs not in the class and try to teach the material to them. this will help you mentally work through the material and will help you remember it as well.
this sounds a little bizarre at first, but itâs true that there are a lot of different and effective ways to put sticky notes to use! so, in case you were wondering what to do with those little post its sitting on the corner of your desk, here is an array of possibilities!!
textbook notes
sticky notes are incredibly useful when taking notes form a textbook
super nice guide
great step by step guide
and another amazing guide
watch this awesome video!
bookmarking
actually bookmark your book
bookmark important pages in a book like the index, glossary, etc
annotating!
mark those essential pages of your own notes, the ones with the definitions and formulas you know you need to look back at a lot
summarizing
use the sticky notes to summarize info!! whether from a book, or a website, or any other resource, it helps a lot
summarize by page, or by section, or by chapter
plot summaries
reading summaries
annotations
organization
there are so many different methods for organization that could use these
of course, use them as reminders for anything and everything
color coding: papers, files, books, and more
make mini to-do lists, write down your tasks for the day!!
keep writing prompts, important formulas, or other necessary and factual information on sticky notes and put them on the wall in front of your desk
or in your notebook/binder/whatever-you-use so that you have them with you all the time!
remember this!
number your sticky notes when marking a book, itâll keep you organized
also color code them
when taking notes use as many abbreviations and symbols as you can, thereâs limited space!
they are small and they tend to get all over the place of you donât stay organized, so make sure you know where they are
also remember to discard old sticky notes (when theyâre no longer needed)
other awesome uses + info
make a flip book!
the sticky edge can be used as temporary tape (really temporary)
keep them in an everything book
print on them to keep it neat
+ printables!
use / them / for / your / art
effective uses
good reasons to use sticky notes!
manage your time

guys ily all make sure ur taking care of urselves please <3
black people, please take care of yourselves. please take care of your health. please take care of your mind. please take care of your spirit.
i understand if your soul is not at peace. i understand if you are exhausted. just, please take care of yourselves in these dark, hateful times and surround yourself with people who understand why.
here are a few study tips on how to learn a new language đťâşď¸:
1. start speaking as soon as possible. even when you havenât learned too many words yet, the most important part of studying a language is not being afraid of using it. so download apps like hellotalk to get in touch with natives! of course, itâs even easier if you already have friends or family members speaking your target language.
2. study the most frequent words! there are tons of free so-called âfrequency listsâ online that prevent you from studying vocabulary you donât need in the long run. with only 500 of the right words you could already have basic conversations!
3. get a lot of native exposure - through podcasts, videos and movies. there are so many recommendations on the internet, no matter what language youâre learning. the earlier you start immersing yourself in native material, even if itâs childrenâs books, the faster youâll find yourself having fluent conversations!!
4. keep a weekly or daily diary to practice writing in your target language. even if itâs only composed of basic sentences, itâs the best way to use the vocabulary youâve learned!
qotd: what language would you like to study next? i really look forward to studying Italian once I have a little bit more time!! đ
