your friday person.
eight months into your first job, you’ve decided that you hate 4 out of 5 days of each work week. friday is an exception for obvious reasons, but it’s also because you get to end your day with your mandatory weekly dinner with your best friend (except of course when you need to attend those sucky team dinners).
jaemin shares an equal dislike for his job, so he insisted that you two do a weekly catch up to destress yourselves. of course, this quickly became a rant session about how awful it was at work, where you sometimes have to interrupt his sentences because he uses way too many jargons you don’t understand. it also turned into a game of who’s had a more horrible week. whoever had a better week shoulders dinner for that night. you honestly don’t mind paying, especially if your definition of a crappy week was spilt coffee while jaemin’s was the birth of a big project he had to complete with an obnoxious coworker named haechan.
and to top it off, you get to ride the subway together on the way home, just like how you did in high school. and as mundane as that sounds, you find joy in standing next to him, and just walking alongside each other.
friday is everyone’s favorite, but no one has the same reason as you do.
