Day two of Kesh Art’s Daily Draw!
Finally finished this digital painting of my cat, Kitteh.
She passed away last year after being with me for nearly 17 years. I miss her every day.

Also: Doing Kesh Art’s Daily Draw this month. Here’s day one.
Trying to get a grasp on drawing a figure from reference. Starting with head, rib cage, & crotch box before connecting them all together.
I can see some improvement as I repeated the exercise — angles, proportions, & scale got more accurate when overlaid on the model.

Looking at reference, I attempted to break the model down into forms, then disabled that layer and attempted to do a quick gesture.
Here's what I learned:
- I'm better at breaking down the model into forms – I feel like I have a better sense of 3D space, as the angles and scale more closely aligned with the model.
- When doing gestures without form for reference, I struggle with scale – limbs are too long, angles are wrong, etc.
I still have a lot to learn.
Smug stance.

Started practicing human form from reference and I ended up getting really into it and continued to sketching the figure, doing line art, colouring, and shading.
The process:

I did more line-work and organic form exercises.
For the lines, I tried two things to train accuracy:
1. Place a dot somewhere and draw many straight lines that cut through it in one shot.
2. Place two dots and draw a straight line between them in one motion.

Back to practicing forms, exercising observation, line work, and applying perspective.
Plop. Just chilling!
Some human forms
I tried my hand at gestures using 30 second, 1 minute, and 5 minute timers.
Then tried it again with no timers.
Looking at these, I can definitely tell that I’m not ready for this step yet. 😞
Back to lines, shapes, and forms for now.
Drawing, drawing, drawing.

Random organic forms
More head exercises. This time focusing on form in 3D space. Tried to draw heads from varying angles/perspectives.
