Women Stand Up
Women stand up March 8th, 1857 Fed up with the lack of support Security and solidarity, they seek To provide and take heed of their families needs Working conditions ignoring their solemnity Unfair to thee Women, they see as discrepancies In a world where men rule as the majority And deem as too subtle For all to be treated equally Women stand up As countries proceed to “bring the peace” Thinking disbursements was enough to make the protests cease But they’ll never forget police brutality Never relinquish, never surrender, never settle for cheap Never let them say you’re weak Without you, we are all incomplete Women stand up March 8th Marching the streets Til bread and roses are thrown at your feet Always remember You are a smart, strong, beautiful, independent woman This is for you women And anyone who supports the movement Protesting to better Gender justice, reproductive freedom Labor rights, environmental protection Lower wages Economic inequality Discrimination, job insecurities Just to sum up what’s needed Woman stand up 2017 no stopping Ancestors still watching Everything you’ve obtained and accomplished But still there’s no stopping The March continues for those who still dont profit Unanimity if you believe it’s not an inapposite An on-going topic for all classes Not just the masses… I see your tweet and your status But where’s the passion? Action is stronger than words If you agree, then you get it So on this day Don’t go to work if your job permits it No shopping in stores Except for a local small business and woman owned companies Now THAT’S a day without women If you accept it Then all you gotta do is suffice Represent that revolutionary love… and sacrifice
