So I'm sure a good few people have probably heard of #essenaoneill and how she's quiting social media! Loads of people have shared their views on it so here is mine, I think the fact that she has such a big following & is able to make money from promoting herself online and is able to walk away from that because it doesn't truly make her happy is brave & inspiring. I think she has brought up some important issues about the way we compare ourselves to others on social media and how we can end up validating our self worth through likes and followers. I think social media is a powerful tool and I don't necessarily think its a lie and fake but I think it's important to look at what we are putting out and the messages we are putting out and why we are putting out those messages, is it just to fit in or is it because it's something we actually believe in. I know people have mixed opinions about what she has said about social media but for me I feel it has made me reevaluate what I put out onto social media and that I should be using it for the greater good& for things I am truly passionate about, not that I'm not passionate about natural hair etc but I feel I have more to offer and things which I find important like love, compassion, positivity, mental health etc and it's made me question as to why I'm not putting those things out there more! This caption is so long so I'm not gna re read it lol but I really feel like we need more people in the world who care about the world and other deeper issues and aren't afraid to share them like essena does and these people should should come forward and share things and experiences that could help people and make the world a better place 🌎 I know a lot of people have been commenting on the fact she has talked about the money you can make online and I don't think there's anything wrong with that personally because if you can make money from doing something you love and promoting a positive message then why not? and what I've taken from it is the importance of looking at what we are consuming and what is consuming us. ! #essenaoneill #letsbegamechangers #happiness #socialmedia
