A Quick Analysis of Artyom's 2017 Interview and His Anxiety
So I'm sure we're all very familiar with this interview, but after rewatching it for the millionth time, I decided to pull out a BPM counter. If you pay attention to his chest or even just the sound of his breathing, you can tell he's breathing pretty quickly. So I decided to measure it.
Throughout the interview, his average respiratory rate is 25. Keep in mind, the average respiratory rate for a healthy adult is 12-20 breaths per minute (I'll be abbreviating it to BPM). 25 BPM is the equivalent of a light jog. This is pretty normal for an interview. What is really interesting to me is where it spikes. For most of the questions, his BPM spikes to 30, which would equate to running. These questions are ones surrounding the victims or Nikita. This is moderate to severe anxiety, and it's approaching hyperventilation.
The most interesting part of this interview for me however, is his spikes to 35 BPM. This would equate to sprinting, and is quite literally Artyom hyperventilating in his seat. I've been able to measure these spikes in two separate instances. The first, at 3:29, and the second, at around 9:50.
What interests me about these specific instances, are that they're both examples of his ego being bruised in some way. In the first instance, the interviewer is asking Artyom about the nature of his fraudulent activities, and Artyom replies, "It's a secret", to which the interviewer laughs at him. In the second instance, Artyom is caught on his lie from earlier in the interview, where he claimed not to remember the interviewer, but then proceeded to talk about that exact interview where they had first met, and the interview asks him about that.
In both these examples, Artyom loses his sense of power and is undermined by the interviewer. In the first example, by laughing at Artyom's defence, he's essentially insulting Artyom. He's telling him, You're not intimidating, you're not mysterious. You are a joke to me. Artyom's not given time to dwell in that stress, because the interviewer changes the topic.
In the second example, Artyom directly loses the sense of power he has over the interviewer. By telling someone you don't remember them, you eliminate their existence of any meaning. I don't know you, you mean nothing to me, you weren't even important enough for me to remember you. It's a way to start off on a clean slate. What I said then doesn't matter, because I've completely removed it from my mind. By being caught on his lie, he's completely stripped of that advantage.
This, to me, is a great example of narcissistic injury. The questions about the victims he brutally murdered do not bother him nearly as much as being made to feel beneath the interviewer. I think these instances support the armchair diagnosis of NPD, as it's not behaviour isolated to this interview.
I've seen people claim that Artyom was trolling during this interview, and this is part of the reason why I believe he isn't.
That last point brings me to sort of the second part of this post, which is just a few less specific observations on his physical tells of anxiety throughout this interview.
He swallows a lot. It's made all the more obvious by his head position, the swallowing forces him to tilt his head up to do so more comfortably.
You can see the muscles in his jaw tightening throughout the interview.
After the first instance, at 3:29, Artyom looks away, and he brings his BPM down to 20. This could be interpreted as if trying to give himself a moment to get himself together. By looking away, he takes his eyes off the pressure (the interviewer). But it doesn't work, as it's difficult to force your body to calm down, so it spikes to 30 to make up for the suppression.
I think if he were just trolling, he wouldn't be this anxious throughout the entire interview. Again, he was quite literally hyperventilating in his seat, and forcing himself to calm down. He also gets more agitated as the interview goes on, to the point he's essentially just refusing to answer questions and just going in circles.
Well, that's about it. It's just something that I noticed and found interesting and decided to share! A fun game to play with this interview is to try to breathe as hard as he is and make yourself lightheaded. Bonus: Talking about GITIS had his BPM at around 28.
this nigga got us FUCKED 😭
A Collection of 19 of Nikita's Rhymes from the Dismembered PugachOva Website Translated into English
These are the rhymes (essentially just rants) that Nikita posted to his website. Here, you will find him complaining about various teachers, classmates, and celebrities.

people fail to see the person behind the perpetrator sometimes. anyone could have done what they did; it is a matter of situation and circumstance. this does not mean their actions should be condoned or excused at all. the hurt they cause should not be brushed off or forgotten, and justice should be served to the victims and families of those affected and hurt. but that perpetrator could be anyone: a friend, a family member, a coworker, or a classmate. they could be you.
my first point also applies to members of the true cc who simply sexualize their "fav perps" and water them down to someone they deem attractive. like everyone subjected to fame by modern media, these individuals are more often than not reduced to their sex appeal, rather than analyzed for who they are, what they did, and why they did it. it is disheartening to see the decline of infoposts and more respectful content and the rise of a pure disregard for a perpetrator's character in favor of complete sexualization.
maybe this is an overreaction, but it feels this way.

its not even about "gatekeeping" you just ruined all of the hours people spent researching just so people who don't truly care for cases get easy access now everything people spent years looking for is surface information
I've never been more dumbfounded by something in my life.
As if I don't do research myself and more than happily share it. I would LOVE for people to know more, and I'm working on sharing everything I've managed to find.
"Just so people who don't truly care for cases get easy access now" ... good? Why is that a bad thing? Is there a bouncer at the door of the Academy Maniacs fanclub that won't let you in if you don't 'care' enough? This is how people start to care. They learn about it first.
"everything people spent years looking for is surface information". Again, is this not a good thing? I think it's good for people to know more, actually. Making information accessible is so, so important. That's why I make translations and archives, so people can learn more, so the information that is buried and difficult to find is easier to access. Why would you want people to know less? Why would you want more misinformation and confusion?
You're just upset you can't have your elite ball knowledge anymore.
It is wild to me that this is a genuine complaint. Please find something real to be mad at.

OPINIONS:
Eric has talked about bands and musicians in his “YOU KNOW WHAT I HATE” rants. The following were mentioned in these rants:
Enya, Hanson, Puff Daddy, Less Than Jake, Lil Kim, Mase, The Pietasters, Master P, Missy Elliot, Five Iron Frenzy, Reel Big Fish, The Aquabats, 311, Will Smith, Blink-182
Eric’s writings about his opinions on music:
“I think people should learn more about what they are listening to. They need/should actually HEAR what they are listening to every day. People generally listen to music because it "sounds" good. Not many people listen to songs for the lyrics. I think that people should, the band took time to write the song, not just the instrumental part, but the lyric part to. I hear people say things like "Yeah that band rules" or "I love that band their music is so cool!" and they can't even understand what the group is actually talking about. Songs from bands like RAMMSTEIN, KMFDM, NIN, M.M., and more popular ones like the bands played a lot on the radio. People could at least hop on the web and look at the song lyrics or find an English translation so they know what the band is saying, or maybe ask someone who is a big fan and who knows what the band is saying. It's not that hard, and I think it will cut down on a lot of the people in this society that are shallow and naive who just look at the front cover of the book, and not the pages...to twist around that quote a little.”
“Stupid fucking saxophone crap. I hate this kinda fucking music. Goddamn white bushy apes and spear chuckers, snapping their gay little fingers anc tapping their faggot little shoes. I want to take that sax and toss it into a vat of molten steel along with its owner, or maybe charge into their gay little night club blasting away with an AR-15 and kill everyone of those punkass happy jazzy fucksticks. Oh Jesus this is even worse than the last piece. This is what passes for music these days? Buddah, I could go get a music contract. What category is this BS anyway? Shell-blowing-bone-wacking-tree shaking jazz? really don't want to learn about some annoying middle aged loser whining about his stupid steam of conscience type lyrics. Next they will throw in some frogs croaking or chainsaws roaring. Hmm, a bit calmer so far. No jungle bunnies running around, banging on things. Is this a fast pace song for the Earth spirit club maybe? Thank god there aren't any lyrics. I find that lyrics can often ruin good music. Well this isn't so bad, kind of trancey. Quick too. Was that a dog? Oh goodie, I hear space invaders now. Dammit, more random crap. Jesus now it's ruined. Stupid symbols or whatever they are called. Must be hard to carry THAT beat. OK now stop screwing with it. Oh yip-ee. Enya wannabe. With a twist of 80s synthesizer in it. Now we are jamming dude. Ug, I need some KMFDM. Is this the soundtrack to a little fantasy movie about a boy and his starship cruiser? Sounds like something aerobics classes dance to when they forgot their CD:s. Hmm, for some reason I feel like flying through a city with the spice girls. Ug this is indescribable I feel like I'm walking around in a friggin cartoon for gods sakes. Bloody burrito boys and their little banjo barakas. What the fuck is this! Screw you guys, I'm going to lunch and listening to good fucking music.”
