During our weekend trip in Leipzig we had a walk in Clara-Zetkin-Park and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Ulla, a close friend of my grandmas sister always bakes and leaves us these oat cookies as a "thank you" for being able to park their rowing boat on our small beach. Since our birthdays are on the same day we always had a special bond. Although I haven't seen her for years (since we visit the area during different times) I eat her cookies evey summer. My grandmas brother Olli's house is next to our summer house and here he had given us potatos, salad and dill from his garden.

Staying in this place every summer is in some way a highlight of my year. Every item and corner in our summer house seeps with nostalgia and I feel I have time traveled to a gentler and slower past in contrast to the world we currently live in. I baked some karjalanpiirakka (karelian pie) & mustikkapiirakka (blueberry pie).
