I knew the Penske family was involved in everything but I didn’t realize how bad it was….
All that effort and Tim Cindric is still Roger’s favourite son.
Happy Pride Month
Gotta say. The whole reason Lando being in Indy in the first place being due to Zak Brown’s ego was so confident that they would win and so wanted to have this whole photoshoot with the 500 winner and the F1 champion is funny.
RHR never looked strong at all this month compared to last year.
Nolan and Christian still don’t look like the most comfortable on ovals at times (like, don’t get me wrong, they’re better than before but there’s still a gap between them and Pato).
And do you really think the track was gonna let Pato win after he promised to recreate half of this ad (it took the track nine years to forgive Josef for his involvement in it)?!
So I might have had one of the worse song + notification combos….
Pato apparently watched this ad and went
‘That’s how I want to celebrate winning.’
Ladies, gentlemen and friends outside the binary, it’s that time of year again, your milk choices for the 2026 Indy 500.
For reference, here’s 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022 choices with some extra details.
In terms of changes:
Apparently the wine cellar only allows 2% this year (all McLaren drivers + RHR were Whole milk last year)
Grosjean has flip flopped back to Skimmed after 2% in 2024
Sato has also gone back to 2% after Whole milk in 2025
Because it’ll probably come up in the reblogs, they don’t offer a milk alternative (at least Armstrong, Dixon and Legge are vegan/vegetarian) or a lactose free option (Power is lactose intolerant yet loves chocolate milk because he is an Aussie with no sense of survival and I love him).
They also don’t offer buttermilk (which is what Louis Meyer drank back in 1936) because what is classed as buttermilk in America has changed since then (I believe both Carpenter and Hinch both tried modern buttermilk and stopped writing it in as request).
For @milwaukeemile
Nolan, you need to find new friends
Another IndyCar race and guess what:
Bottles are being smashed in the wine cellar
NOLAN HAS BEEN NOTICED
Wine cellar is being repaired as we speak
Where, exactly, do I start with Alex? The best place is to say that he's alive. I was in the race at Lausitzring in 2001 and after his accident where he lost his legs I was straight in a helicopter to the hospital.
Alex underwent surgery after surgery. When he came round he could see our anguish. He asked if he could hold his son. When told yes, he said: "Then I'm fine". almost as if he had only cut his finger!
His humour was never far away, and he tackled his recovery as if working on his race car. He called one day and said: "Dario, that's it! My legs - I've done it! It took some trials and some changes, and now I'm taller" He never knew when he was beaten, even when I was racing against him in the 1990s (just as well really!)
After his accident he went on to win races in Worlo Touring Cars, and we all knew he would be fired up for the Paralympics. His two golds and a silver were well-deserved, as is the label 'inspiration', even if he can't see that himself. ("I'm not a hero. I can walk, talk, breathe and hold my son. What is heroic about that?")
Sorry mate, but like it or not you ARE a hero to many people in the world, and that includes me.
Dario Franchitti on Alex Zanardi in his book ‘Romance of Racing’.
F1: IndyCar…
IndyCar: Yes?
F1: Why are you threatening Mick?
IndyCar: Oh, I’m not threatening Mick, my home is.
F1: Your home is…
IndyCar: Yes, and my home, she-
F1: she?
IndyCar: Yes, my home is a she. Anyway, she’s seen a lot and she has her favourites and not so favourites.
F1: Favourites and not so favourites?
IndyCar: I mean, take Fittipaldi. She liked him, let him win a second time and then he drank orange juice instead of milk. She didn’t like that, didn’t let him win again.
F1: So Mick saying he wasn’t impressed so far…
IndyCar: She noticed. There’s still time for him to get on her good side in May but not a good start.
F1: Ahh…
IndyCar: She still hasn’t forgiven you by the way
F1: IT’S BEEN TWENTY ONE YEARS!
“Look Nigel Mansell is calling these overtakes artificial.”
Okay, look, let me just wheel out Mario Andretti who between:
Having been around long enough to race before cars the had wings to apply downforce and artificially improved cars ability to get round each other.
Rather infamously hated each other as teammates (Mario’s “I respect the driver, not the man?” quote? Yeah, that’s about Nigel).
Can help the journalists and the clickbaiters keep this stupid argument going for longer still.
So thing that was pointed out on the latest episode of Motorsport 101 podcast (at this point I must once again say if you want a good all rounder motorsport podcast for IndyCar, F1 and MotoGP, then I can’t recommend highly enough).
The P2P glitch? It wasn’t the first time it happened. Apparently it happens once or twice a year for a while now, it was just before now we didn’t have an independent stewarding board so it was just kept quiet.
Remember folk, how did we find out about Penske having the wrong settings in the first place?
The system was glitching during warm up so it was turned off for everyone while they tried to fix it.
If I had a penny for every time Zak Brown used the word integrity in relation to motorsport I’d be rich enough to pay for top surgery for me and all of my mates who need it.
Two thoughts on this:
It probably says something about how tight the track is that none of them actually gained from this on someone that didn’t press the button, going by the statement if someone had there may of been an actual punishment.
If you were one of the twelve and was also one of the drivers who were like “I’d never use the button when I know it’s not available” during Push to Pass gate then I want to you to go and apologise to Josef.
Further thought on this, I don’t like how they only checked if the twelve managed an overtake (with Armstrong on Ferrucci being deemed balanced out by them both using it) though that does mean that we can confirm that Power on McLaughlin in the restart was done without P2P.
Like, what if it was used defensively and prevented an overtake?
Cause I was initially thinking that Palou didn’t use it because if he gained that much off the restart (even though he got the jump on Rosenqvist who then was having to defend from Dixon), was on his preferred tyre and had clean air but now I can’t be so sure.
