External Factors Affecting The Hospitality Industry - Part 1
External factors play a major role in affecting the hospitality business. In addition to many internal factors, there are many external factors that have the power to make a huge difference in this business. Let’s look at these factors to understand how the hotel industry works in the current scenario and how these factors affect them:
1. Political Factors
Areas in political distress tend to have poor performance in the hotel industry. This is because of the policies related to tourism put in place by the government. Tourism plays an important role in the hospitality industry. Almost all of the customers come via tourism. So, it’s important that policies benefiting the hotel industry are being carried out. Many governments are doing so.
2. Economic Factors
Any economic change affects the hotel industry in terms of taxation, exchange rates, general demand among other things. Inflation can decrease the demand of luxury hotels, but at the same time increase the demand of budget hotels. Similarly, fluctuation in foreign exchange rates can fluctuate the demand of hotel services for foreign visitors.
3. Environmental Factors
Environmental factors can’t be controlled by humans. Hotels need to have facilities that can tackle these conditions. There’s a lot of pressure on hotels from the government and environmental activists to ensure minimal activities that can harm the environment. Many in the industry are switching to biodegradable items in the light of climate crisis.
With a lot of changes taking place globally, it is only practical that we adapt. We, at Ananta Hotels and Resorts, are doing our best to adapt to these changes and make sure that we provide our guests with all the best facilities and more.
