I mean yeah most of my friends are more or less hostile-ish towards the censorship aspect, and think that media and reality should be separated and all that jazz. They just don’t like the media in question, but I don’t think they like the idea of censoring it either.

To answer that question, I… Honestly don’t remember most of the song names (Fake Ass Fan Spotted Right Here Folks). And it might sound like the obvious choice, but Fly Away Now, both the original and the remix that came with season 2, are simply peak music. Fantastic song, 10/10.

Maybe later today (when I’m not feeling sick), I’ll properly look up the official OST and maybe give a different answer. For now, the fan-favorite is the favorite for a reason!

hey so uhhhhh uh um why do I feel bad about maybe warming up to the idea of daemoncest and anarchycest and. In theory I know that technically it isn’t materially harmful and separating fiction from reality and all that nonsense. But also Im scared of becoming a “proshipper” since my friends dont really fuck with that stuff. I guess I don’t know for sure since it’d be kind of awkward to ask them all “hey what are y’alls opinion on fictional incest”

Really fair question tbh! Honestly I feel like most profic people (I can say for experience and also my profic friends’ ones) started out as violently pro-censorship/antishippers, because it’s what people tell you is right, and people love to hate.

You don’t need to label yourself as pro or anti or whatever the fuck. Just do you! I also don’t talk to everyone in my life about my darkship OTPs, but my close friends know about it, are not proship per se (because they are not in fandom spaces, so they’re not antiship either), and they have just accepted that it is content that I engage with.

If you and your friends have similar ideas on censorship and overall how media gets treated, you could start with that to test the waters if you’re apprehensive into jumping straight into dark fiction. Personally, all my current close friends are either profic or don’t care about the subject enough (but are anti-censorship), and I’d rather surround myself with people who wouldn’t drop me out of their lives due to a stupid siscon ship that isn’t real.

All in all, people don’t usually mention this but it’s very important of a difference if your friends are online or IRL. I think it’s way less likely to create conflict if it’s people you see in the physical world, not only due to the inherent lack of chronical online-ness, but also on the internet it’s a lot easier to drop empathy and block someone on a whim!

Anyway anon, I hope you can explore your tastes in media safely with people who will be there for you regardless! Feel free to send me more asks, this blog is kinda dead :p

You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.

No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.

No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.

You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.

Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.
