أَنَسْ

"يُعطيك الله قبلَ أن تسأل، ويُعطيك وأنتَ تسأل، ويُعطيك دونَ أن تسأل."

“Allah gives you before you ask, and gives you while you are asking, and gives you without you asking.”

إذا ما كُنت ذا قلبٍ قَنُوعٍ - فأنت وَمَالِكُ الدنيا سَوَاءُ

If you have a content heart,

then you are no different from the one who owns the whole world.

الْحُرُّ لِلْحُرِّ مَيَّالٌ بِرَغْبَتِهِ

وَالنَّذْلُ بِالنَّذْلِ مَفْتُونٌ وَمُقْتَنِعُ

وَالنَّاسُ بِالنَّاسِ وَالْآفَاقُ شَاسِعَةٌ

وَالطَّيْرُ لَوْ عَلَى أَشْكَالِهَا تَقَعُ

The free one is drawn to the free by his own will,

And the base one is enamored with and content with the base.

People are with people, though the horizons are vast,

And birds, they say, alight according to their kind.

"الأمور التي لا تعنيك اتركها، فان هذا من حسن إسلامك، وهو أيضًا فيه راحة للإنسان، فكون الإنسان لا يهمه إلا نفسه هذا هو الراحة، أما الذي يتتبع أحوال الناس ماذا قيل؟ وماذا حدث لهم؟ ... فإنه سوف يتعب تعبًا عظيمًا، ويفوّت على نفسه خيرًا كثيرًا".

"Matters that do not concern you—leave them be, for this is part of the perfection of one's Islam, and it is also a source of rest for a person. For a man to concern himself only with what pertains to him—that is true rest. But whoever pursues the affairs of others—what was said about them, what happened to them—will surely exhaust himself greatly and miss out on much good."

‏وما للفؤاد إلا الله يؤنسُه.

And the heart has none but Allah to bring it solace.

المستغني بالله عن الناس حر عزيز.

He who is self-sufficient through Allah and independent of people is free and honorable.

‏ثقِ أنَّ ما كُتب لكِ سيصلكِ ولو حشدت الدنيا جيوشها لمنعه، فمن مَلكَ مفاتيحَ الغيب، لا يُعجزه قفلٌ أرضي، وكل تأخيرٍ تراهُ ليس إلا تهيئةً لمداركك لتستقبل العطاءَ في كمال وقته.

"Trust that what is written for you will reach you, even if the world musters its armies to prevent it. For He who holds the keys of the unseen is never thwarted by any earthly lock. And every delay you see is nothing but a preparation of your own capacities to receive the gift at its perfect time."

في كلّ مرة تلتفُّ حول عنقك حبالُ البلاء فتتركك أيادي الخلق الكثيرة، فلا ينتشلك من بئر البلايا سوى حبل الدعاء الممتد للسماء السابعة، ذلك لتدرك أن الملجأ الحقيقي لك هو الله وحده لا غير!

"Every time the ropes of affliction coil around your neck and the many hands of creation abandon you, nothing pulls you out of the well of calamities except the rope of supplication stretching up to the seventh heaven—so that you may realize that your true refuge is Allah alone, none other!"

‏"الإنسان في تطلّعاته ورغباته وحوائجه خلال حياته كلّها يعيش بين أمرين: الألم ممّا لم يتحقّق له، والملل ممّا تحقّق له. مأزق يضع نفسه فيه ويهدر بسببه حياته"

"Man, in his aspirations, desires, and needs throughout his entire life, lives between two things: pain over what he has not achieved, and boredom over what he has achieved. A predicament he places himself in, and through which he wastes his life."

‏"والله لا شيء يعدل الاطمئنان الذي تناله بعد أن تخلع من قلبك التعلّق بالأسباب الدنيوية، وتوقن حق اليقين أن الأمر كلّه بيد العزيز الحكيم، وأنه إذا شاء شيئًا وقدّره فما الخلق إلا وسائل تجري من خلالهم إرادته سبحانه"

"By Allah, nothing equals the tranquility you attain after you remove from your heart attachment to worldly means, and you become absolutely certain that the entire matter rests with the Almighty, the All-Wise, and that if He wills and ordains something, then creation is nothing but means through whom His will—glorified be He—flows."

‏إذا أراد الله أن يُنيلك أمرًا سخّر لك من لا يخطر ببالك، ولرُبّما أجراه على يد من لا يريد؛ لتعلم أن الله يحكم ما يريد!

If Allah wants to grant you something, He will cause to come to you those you would never have imagined, and He may bring it about through someone who does not even wish it for you—so that you may know that God ordains what He wills!

السبب في شقاء الإنسان، أنه يزهد في سعادة يومه بتطلعه لسعادة غده، فإذا جاء غده اعتقد أن أمسه خير من يومه، فيشقى في حاضره وماضيه.

The reason for human misery is that they forsake the happiness of their present day by longing for the happiness of tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, they believe that yesterday was better than today, and so they suffer in both their present and their past.
