Kelly’s older sister was getting married and still, Kelly couldn’t stop being a brat.
The soon-to-be-married Lucy, the aforementioned Kelly, their mother, and some of Lucy’s friends were in the midst of a hectic day of fittings and last minute decisions. Lucy was doing her best to confront the craziness of the afternoon with a brave face, but her sister was not helping. Kelly, selected to be a bridesmaid, mocked the dresses, made snide comments about her future brother-in-law and nearly threw a tantrum over an issue with her shoes.
Lucy and her mother exchanged quite a few glances in a short amount of time. Kelly’s behavior was not only embarrassing, it was also making everything take much longer than it should. The employees at the bridal shop did their best to remain polite, but there was a palpable tension in the air.
“Kelly, I’m warning you right now,” her mother whispered forcibly into her ear, “Start behaving right this moment or you will be sorry. I will not warn you again.”
There was a rebellious streak in Kelly, one that gave her character and made her unique, but it also got her into trouble. She had been labeled a tomboy at a young age. For the most part, she seemed to simply shrug her shoulders and get on with life unfazed. She favored hoodies and jeans to dresses and was not afraid to play sports with the guys. But her defiant attitude sometimes just made her a brat and often at the most inconvenient moments. It was an afternoon of frayed nerves and Kelly’s mother was in no mood for her daughter’s antics.
Finally, things came to a head when Lucy tried to calm Kelly down during an argument with a salesgirl. Kelly, evidently feeling like Lucy was taking the salesgirl’s side, turned on her sister and called her “a fucking bitch.”
The gathering fell silent.
“May I have some privacy with my daughters,” Lucy and Kelly’s mom said to a stunned dressing room. Lucy’s friends and the store employees were happy to oblige.
When the room cleared out, she spoke again. “Kelly, I warned you already."
When Kelly saw her mother reach into her purse, her eyes grew wide with terror and her heart started beating hard inside her chest. Her mother didn’t even have to take it out for both girls to know exactly what it was - THE DREADED HAIRBRUSH.
It was a nasty little instrument that was intimately familiar with both Lucy and Kelly’s bare backsides. This particular hairbrush was never used for brushing hair.
"Mommy, no” Kelly begged, “Please! Why did you bring that thing!?”
Instead of answering, her mother simply took the hairbrush and sat down on one of the waiting couches, beckoning her youngest daughter toward her.
“Please, Mommy,” Kelly whined, “Don’t spank me. Not here.”
But it was no use. Once sentenced to a spanking, there was no way out of it. Her mother was taking down Kelly’s jeans and panties and guiding her down over her lap while the brat just froze, seemingly unable to react.
Lucy stood with her arms crossed, watching this all play out. She was experiencing a lot of emotions. She knew that her sister deserved this spanking and that perhaps it might do her a world of good, but she was also a little embarrassed for her since the punishment was so public.

“WAAHHHH,” Kelly cried, all traces of her tough tomboy exterior long gone, “I’m s-s-sorryyyyy!"
Her pale white cheeks were scarlet in no time. All things considered, it was a helluva spanking. Kelly’s mother lectured as she punctuated the punishment with her final, stinging swats.
"IF (SMACK) YOU (SMACK) EVER (SMACK) ACT (SMACK) LIKE SUCH A BRAT (SMACK SMACK) AGAIN (SMACK), I WILL (SMACK) SPANK (SMACK) YOUR (SMACK) BARE ASS (SMACK, SMACK) UPSTAIRS (SMACK) IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOODCOURT (SMACK SMACK SMACK)! DO YOU UNDERSTAND, YOUNG LADY (SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK)!?"
The rest of the afternoon went rather smoothly in comparison.
