Pairing: Percy Hynes White x Famous!Reader

Summary: Your first public appearance as Percy’s girlfriend

A/N: I mean have you seen them? Jenna and Percy were ravishing! Also at the very end of this post you’ll find links to the outfit and jewerly you wore for the red carpet. And, as usual, if you see some mistakes dont be shy to write me down on them.

Without exaggeration you were terrified. Of course it is not your first red carpet. And definitely not the first big event in your successful career. All those movie premieres where you’ve played leading roles were nothing comparing to this night. 

Two weeks before Jenna FaceTimed you with great news - she was nominated for the Golden Globes for best female role in comedy series. Percy nearly got deaf by your squeal. You instantly apologized and faced your friend again.

“Jenna, oh my god, I’m so happy for you! Congrats!”

“Thank you, honey, still can’t believe this is really happening.” with the smile of excitement she answered. “By the way have you made a decision about the dress?”

“I think I’ll stick to my plan with Versace one.” you shrugged your shoulders. “We’re having a fitting day like in a week or something.”

“Okay then! I guess we’ll meet at the event. Love ya’ll, bye.” 

You put your phone back at the table and got back to reading a script for a new unnamed project. Percy was sitting at the couch watching football. You could tell from your point of view that he was not interested in the game. He lazily turned his head towards you. The image of his pretty girl sitting in pj’s with a loose bun on the head made his heart clench. He stood up from his warmed up place slowly and headed straight to you. 

You felt his body heat with your back. Few seconds later his lips began to flatter your neck with soft kisses.

“Percy, I’m working.” you tried your best to get rid of him. 

“Keep reading, darling.”he hummed into your ear. You’ve made one more try to concentrate on papers but when his hands landed on your shoulders you were wrapped. A little moan came from your mouth making him smirk. “How about me giving you a little treatment?”

“Are you doing this on purpose?”

“I want you to relax,dear. These days you’ve been so stressed out. All this work and the upcoming Globes have made you nervous. You’re literally shaking.”

“Seems like I’m just afraid. This is gonna be our first official appearance as a couple.” you tilted your head back so you could look at your boyfriend.

“We can stay undercover if you want so. This is not a big deal for me. For the last two years all paparazzi have been convinced that we are just close friends. That’s why they’re staying out of our space.” he was slightly massaging your aching shoulders.

“Yeah, I just- you know- tired of hiding. Being not able to take your hand on the streets and other romantic stuff.”

“I completely understand you, babe, I feel the same way. Don’t worry, this Golden Globes award is gonna be our best night.” with these words he placed a kiss on your forehead.

 “Miss Y/L/N, you’re gonna steal all men sights tonight!” your stylist exclaimed.

“Thank you Stefano, I really like it!” you took another look in the mirror. 

 At the last minute, you had a change of heart about the Versace dress. There was just something wrong with it. And now, standing in Dolce&Gabbana, you were feeling comfortable. Underneath the thin silk dress you were wearing a matching underwear and stockings. And those Cartier jewelry were flickering just the way you wanted. Your makeup was soft and gentle. The main focus was on pink blush and nude lips. Long Y/H/C hair were tied into a high tight ponytail. Few little strands were curled and loose. 

“And who is the lucky person that is going to escort you? We’re running late already.” he said.

“No worries, we’re coming separate ways.”

“Inteso*. Lets get in the car. I’ll put some final touches on our way.”

As soon as you saw cameras flashing  you got nervous again.”Everything is  alright, I’m okay. It’s just another red carpet, nothing special at all. Jenna and Emma are also here. Come one, Y/N, put your yourself together!” you thought. And it really worked.

With the first flash you got super confident. Walking down the carpet you were waving to the crowd and taking some pictures with fans. Your agent was about to escort you to the ET interviewer when you saw Jenna and Emma. Girls were talking with the Vogue guest interviewer - Emma Chamberlain. 

“Oh look who we have here! Joining with Y/N Y/L/N. I need to say that you look gorgeous! Tell us about your looks, ladies.”

“Well I’m wearing Dolce&Gabbana and Cartier jewelry.” your answered with a big smile. After Jenna and Emma answered another questions the three of you headed to the main carpet. That was the moment when Percy saw you. 

His jaw was dropped at the sight of you. He had no idea that you were going to switch an outfit. This dress was definitely better than the other. There was a small space between you two. While posing you’ve turned around and saw him looking at you with adoring eyes. You stretched your hand forward urging him to join you. He didn’t hesitate. He greeted you with a tight hug. Of course this moment was caught on camera.

“Percy, Y/N, please look this way.” you heard from the photographers.

Switching your pose ones again, you faced the flashes. Percy stood behind you, placing his hand on your thigh. The feeling of that touch have made your face turn red. 

“You look stunning, love.” he whispered in your ear.

“Thanks, you look pretty too.” you answered him with a shy smile.

“Jeez, these paparazzi are insane. Ready to make them go wild?” he said with a smirk on his face.

“Yeah, let’s do this.” you said facing your handsome lover.

The next moment the crowd was screaming loudly. Percy put gently his free hand on your neck, pulling you in a sweet kiss. A tingling sensation was building up in your stomach. You guys had to slow down. After all it was an event and dozens of eyes and cameras were on you two. 

You pulled back from your man. Percy was looking at you with those admiring puppy eyes.

“You okay?” he asked. His thumb was circling on your lower back. That little touch was calming you down.

“More than okay, baby. I’m finally relieved.” you said with an open heart.

“She did that?” asked Wednesday while staring at the painted wall.

“Yes, hundred percent. This little bitch ruined my mural.” said Xavier. Anger in his voice made pigtailed girl look at him.

“Why? I mean yeah, you guys hate each other since the first year at Nevermore but this is too much even for her.” 

“Honestly it wasn’t that bad at the begining. We used to be friends, like best friends and all that stuff with sleepovers and hangouts. Everything has changed a year ago.” mentioning your previous connection made Xavier sad.

He didn’t understand why your behavior had changed in a snap. Before summer break you two were inseparetable. Three months later you were a different person. He tried to make a contact with you in the quad, during classes, at volunteer work in Jericho. And all these attempts were a complete failure. By the end of a first semester he had gave up. And then this happened.

“What the actual fuck you think you’re doing?!” your high pitched voice filled young man’s dorm.

“Sorry?” Xavier seemed confused.

“Oh please, Thorpe. Don’t act like you don’t know why am I here.”

“But I have no idea why you stormed into my room without an invitation.” he sat on the edge of the desk. Xavier was tired by the end of the day so he had no mood for arguing. The next second you crossed a room and shoved into him with a piece of paper. It was his sketch of you sitting in the conservatory with a book. Your face was so relaxed.

“What. Is. This?”

“How did you get it?” his eyes darted from the paper to your furious face. Then he realised. “Damn it, Wednesday” he mumbled. “Listen, it was not supposed to-“

“I don’t fucking care, you asshole. Just tell me why did you do this?! Did you get any permission to do this?”

“Well, speaking of permissions-“ Xavier threw up his hands towards you. “ I don’t understand why are you so pissed. Yeah, I’ve made a little sketch. Was just practicing between classes. There’s nothing wrong about it.”

“Stay away from me. Is that clear?” with the last word you turned to the exit. It was hard for you to be so close to him. The way he looked and smelled. Those innocent eyes full of confusion. Deep in your heart you were crying but you never showed it.

“What is the problem? Or is it a new style of being an uncharitable bitch?” the last two words completely drove you crazy. You slowly turned on your heels and realised how close he was to you, like nearly bumping a tiny body into a closed door.

“Fuck off.” a whisper came from your mouth.

“Not until you explain yourself, Y/N.” he whispered back. You were afraid to look at him. “Look at me and spill it right to my face.”

“I need to-“

“Yeah yeah, you need to go and I need some explanation. What happened during this break? You’re completely out of character not talking to anybody of our friends. You’re always keeping distance from me. Did I do something wrong?” both his arms were laying on the wall besides your own head.

“Get of me, Xavier” for the first time in a few month you’ve called him by his name. That got Xavier out of space for a few seconds. It was enough amount of time for you to open the door and run away.

The Outreach Day was a total disaster to say at least. Wednesday Addams ruined a new memorial statue of Joseph Crackstone by setting it on fire. Principal Weems and the Mayor were pissed. You, on the other hand, were amused. It was quiet a bold move from a student on such a big event. You were anticipating to know how did she do that. With a mischief thoughts of interrogating a goth classmate you lay down on bed. A few minutes later you heard a knock on the door. It was Wednesday.

“Didn’t mean to interrupt but we need to talk” she stepped right into the darkness of the room.

“Huh, sorry but I’m getting ready for sleep and-“

“Honestly I don’t care what we’re you planning to do. I’m gonna ask you a question and you need to say the truth.”

“Go ahead then. I’m really tired of this day already” you rolled your eyes.

“Was it you the person who ruined Xavier’s mural in Jericho?” her piercing look made you shiver a little.

“Someone ruined his mural?!” you stood there in pure shock.

“You didn’t answer my question, Y/N.”

“I would never do that to Xavier! I may be a bitch from time to time but not a beast for sure, Wednesday.” you’ve seen them earlier talking near some wall but you didn’t know what was that about. The thought of a ruined masterpiece made you feel sick. “What made you think that I’m capable of doing such a terrible thing?”

“Let me think” the girl put on a thoughtful face “Correct me if I’m wrong. You hate him so much that I can cut the tension with a knife. You’re always bragging about his obsession with painting so-“

“Wow, slow down. I do not brag.”

“Right, you’re mumbling. Also your psychic abilities are messing with your mind a lot these days.”

“How do you-“

“Does it matter? As a psychic myself I can feel your energy. Seems like it’s out of control. That’s why your mental health is so unstable. Flashes of anger, sadness, self pity and devastation. I can go on and on if you want.”

“No, please, stop” you looked at her with watery eyes. Wednesday Addams was the first person who could understand you and that was shocking. With a blurry vision you’ve made it to bed. “It wasn’t me. But I think I do know who did this. The point is that other people’s emotions go through me. I can literally feel their dark side and that’s ripping my brain apart. I don’t know how to silence or suppress it.”

“Is that a true reason for abandoning Xavier and others?” you shook your head still sobbing. “ It was one of my theories. You have to understand that stepping back from your friends and refusing your powers will do you no good. Our closest people are the ones who will always support us.” hearing these kind of affirmations from the Addams girl was weird.

“I’m afraid to hurt them. What if it gets out of control again and they will suffer?”

“You’ll never know until you try, Y/N. Believe me, my mother and I have had a similar situation not long ago. But as soon as we spoke all my concerns were gone.”

“Yeah, of course.”

“So get your shit together and make a move, Y/L/N.”

“Thanks Addams.”

The morning light forced you to get out of your warm bed. After a quick shower you headed straight to the quad for a breakfast.

There they were, sitting at the common table, laughing at some Ajax’s story. Bianca, Divina, Kent, Enid, Yoko, Eugene, Wednesday and Xavier. You were standing in the middle of the quad with a tray in your sweaty hands. There were two options. Option one: to sit at the very corner in the shadow. And option two: to make a move as Wednesday advised you. And as much as it was nerve wracking you’ve made a decision.

“Hey guys” your voice was harsh and shaky “can I-ugh- if you don’t mind-“ Xavier’s eyes fell on you the second he heard your nervous voice.

“Y/N, honey, are you okay?” Enid asked. The girl instantly put an arm on your shoulder.

“Can I share a breakfast with you guys?” you spilled out. Eyes landing on your own feet.

“Don’t ask, girl, sit down!” Bianca giggled. With a sight of relief you’ve made yourself comfortable between Wednesday and Yoko.

For the rest of your meal you were silent. After such a long time is was uncomfortable to be around your friends again. And they totally got it. They didn’t ask questions at all. Only Xavier felt a growing anger in his chest. He abruptly stood up in the middle of conversation and made his way out of the quad.

“Xavier, wait!” Ajax shouted.

“Let him go.” you hushed him.

“What is wrong with him?” Kent asked.

“I think I know what just happened.” Wednesday suggested looking at you.

“Told you.” you whispered whipping tears away.

After classes you’ve headed straight to the conservatory. Seems like it was the only spot in entire school where you could find peace. Currently you were taking notes on some carnivorous plant. A loud squeak of the door took your attention. Xavier stood there.

“What are you doing-“

“What a hell, Y/N? What is wrong with you?” he was angry and devastated. “ I cannot catch your mood! You’ve been ignoring me and others for almost a year and now you’re interested in joining our table? What a fuck!”

“Stop it, please.” you tried your best not cry.

“No. No! I won’t stop until you explain your behaviour! I’ve been loyal and patient all this time. That’s enough.” with a couple steps he crossed the area between you two. But you knew that being that close to him would make you feel his anger. You didn’t have a strength to deal with it now.

You’ve made a little step back when he grabbed your arm pulling you closer. You noticed how red his eyes were. A familiar unpleasant feeling crawled in your chest.

“Let go of me, Xavier!” you shouted.

“God damn it, Y/N, stop running away!”

“Fine! You want the truth? Take it! I tried my best to stay away from you for your own sake! I didn’t want to affect your stupid mind with my powers because I can’t control it! I would gladly enjoy every single day with you but I can’t!” you screamed through the tears “ And this is what happens when people I love and care about get on my affection! See?!”

“You love me?” he didn’t believe his ears.

“What?”

“You just said that you love me. Do you mean it?”

“How can you be that blind, you idiot?! For all these years I’ve been so desperately in love with you and you didn’t even catch a single hint! And the last summer break proved me that you don’t feel the same! That’s when my fucking powers got out of fucking control! And-“ Xavier interrupted your speech with a kiss.

A sweet sensation flashed through your chest. For the first time in endless months those noises in your head calmed down. His hand found its spot on a thin waist. Few seconds later he pulled back slightly just to take a look at you. A single tear trailed down your soft cheek.

“Y/N, please, look at me.” you shook your head “I beg you, love.” you did as he asked.

“I’m sorry, Xavier, so sor-“

“Hush, dear. You’re right. I was a complete fool for not noticing or paying attention. I was so busy dealing with my troubles that I couldn’t catch you mood. At first it seemed like you’ve lost your interest in our friendship. Especially in me. Seeing you on a daily basis made me feel depressed. It was the worst torture for me to be away from you. I should apologise, not you.” he connected your lips once again. There was a hope for a better future in that kiss. “We’ll deal with your problems together. I promise.”

“Then what the hell are we now?” you chuckled at your own words.

Xavier answered in a light touch to your neck and a tight hug. And you were smiling widely.

It’s also Bucky being more than a little upset that they turned his gentle, harmless friend—who Bucky wanted to PROTECT from the horrors of war—into a fighting machine.

it’s also Bucky realizing that he can no longer protect his best friend no matter how hard he tries. he’s utterly helpless now, even after the war is over. they’ll always be wanting steve to fight this or that, and bucky won’t be able to do a darn thing to protect him.

It’s also Bucky taking the 5 seconds he has of Steve not paying attention to him so he can allow himself to process all these emotions without worrying Steve. If you watch Bucky through the movies, you’ll notice he always makes sure to look like he’s 100% fine if other people are looking at him. Fighting with Steve, but smiling at their dates. Recently tortured, but walking confidently by Steve’s side. Basically a mess, but all “Let’s hear it for Captain America!” It’s a pattern, really. Even in the flashback in CATWS, you can see he looks a lot less confident when Steve isn’t looking at him than when Steve is.

Also, Seb has mentioned that researching WW2, what left the deepest impression was how quickly everybody dies. You get attached to someone only to watch their heads being blown up in front of you the next day. I’m sure this influenced how he chose to act this scene. Because you can bet by the time this scene takes place, Bucky has seen many people - hell, maybe even friends - die, and recently, he’s had to see his whole unit be killed or captured by HYDRA. This certainly plays a role here. It’s not just a general sense of “I can’t protect Steve anymore,” it’s more like “I don’t know if Steve will live till next week.” It’s very real, very immediate. It’s a concrete prediction more than a vague fear. And if Steve’s survives, there’s still the fact Bucky knows what’s like to be changed by war, and Steve will be changed by it, which Bucky certainly hates. Either way, he loses the Steve he knew, even more than he’s already lost, with the whole “Steve Rogers is suddenly a super soldier” deal.

I’d say this scene is wartime Bucky in a nutshell. He handles the entire crowd and this whole Captain America propaganda thing without hesitation, he smiles at Steve and makes sure Steve enjoys the moment instead of pulling some “I did my duty” bullshit, and only then he allows himself to be overwhelmed by the fear that comes with being able to think 48923740 worst case scenarios in two seconds. If we can trust interviews with cast and crew, this eventually becomes his role in the war, basically - he thinks fast and does his job protecting Captain America and the missions, he takes care of Steve on a personal level by shielding him from the worst of the war as much as he can, and only then, if there’s time and Steve isn’t looking, he thinks about how the war is affecting him.

But anyway, overall, this scene is about overwhelming loss of everything Bucky knows, as well as an attempt to hide this as well as he can. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that in the 4th and 5th gifs, Seb looks a lot like comics!Bucky does when he says goodbye to his younger sister, thinking he’ll never see her again and almost breaking down in tears, but unwilling to show her he’s scared.
