Worst crime spn ever committed was the makeup department forgetting to give Dean the handprint scar for whatever shirtless scene it was that thus revealed it was magically gone. Every Cas death would've hit so much harder if you think about Dean having a constant reminder of what he lost. Or the divorce arc. Dean being all "screw him" with that sworn fervor, and then catching a glimpse of Cas's handprint in the mirror and getting all manfully weepy about it. Or 15x18, after the confession, after he picks himself up off the ground, after he peels off his jacket, and all he's left with is the mark from when Cas pulled him out of hell. Fundamentally changed and forever (inescapably) reminded about it.
