๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - A teenage Tom Riddle time-travels into his future and immediately insults his older self..
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ -This took me what felt like forever to write, but here it is! Also, there are only three hours until the Monaco GP. Is staying up until 1 a.m. worth it? Probably not. Am I doing it anyway? Absolutely.
Tom Riddle was aware he was being watched.
He'd known for nearly twenty minutes. The presence at the back of the classroom wasn't subtle.
It wasn't nervous or curious like most students. It was calculating, cold, yet patient.
It reminded him far too much of himself.
Once the final student left. Once the door clicked shut. Silence settled over the room.
Only then did the figure in the shadows finally speak. "You've gone soft."
Tom didn't look surprised. Slowly, he placed the piece of chalk down then he turned.
At the very back of the classroom sat a sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle. Young, sharp and dangerous.
His expression was colder than Tom remembered, not because he lacked power not because he lacked intelligence. Because he lacked something else.
Something older Tom had spent decades learning: Love.
The younger version of him sat comfortably in the shadows like he owned them. "You've gone soft," he repeated.
Tom folded his arms. "I haven't."
"You have."
"You've been here less than an hour."
"I didn't need longer."
Tom exhaled slowly.
The boy's eyes swept over the classroom to the shelves, the lesson plans. The students' essays stacked neatly on Tom's desk. Everything.
Disapproval practically radiated from him, then his gaze returned to Tom. "I said you've gone soft."
"And you're sixteen"
The younger Tom leaned back. "Which is exactly why I know what I'm talking about."
Tom immediately repeated flatly, "Which is exactly why you don't."
The younger Tom's eyes narrowed. "You teach."
"Yes."
"You grade essays."
"Unfortunately."
"You answer questions."
Tom sighed. "You're sitting in a time anomaly you don't understand."
The boy ignored that, his gaze remained fixed. Assessing everything, evaluating everything and judging everything surrounding the classroom.
Tom remembered being like that and it was exhausting.
Finally the younger Tom spoke again "I heard them."
"The students?"
"They like you."
Tom looked unimpressed. "That wasn't a compliment."
"It wasn't meant to be."
The younger Tom stood. Even at sixteen there was something intimidating about him. Something that made people instinctively move out of his way.
A predator that hadn't yet learned restraint.
"I am the Dark Lord," Older Tom said quietly.
The younger Tom didn't even blink. "If that's true," he said, "why are you teaching?"
Silence.
A long one.
Then Tom answered. "I will not spoil more of the future for you."
"Convenient."
"You'll understand when you get here."
The younger Tom scoffed but before either could continue.
The classroom door opened and everything changed. Because Y/N walked inside.
Her work robes were slightly wrinkled, her hair was loose. A stack of books balanced against one hip.
She paused the second she saw them."...Ah."
The younger Tom immediately straightened while Older Tom immediately relaxed. The contrast was ridiculous.
Y/N noticed it instantly. "Hello there," she greeted.
The younger Tom stared.
Tom watched him stare and immediately knew exactly what the boy was doing.
Memorising her. The same thing he'd done the first time he'd fallen in love with her.
The younger Tom's gaze dropped, to her hand. To the ring then back up again.
His eyes sharpened. "Is this why?"
Y/N frowned. "Is what why?"
His gaze shifted to older Tom. "Because we finally got her."
Tom sighed immediately. โWe didnโt just get her.โ
The younger Tom raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
Tom stepped closer to Y/N without thinking an instinct so natural he didnโt even realise he was doing it.
โWe earned her,โ he corrected quietly, his hand settling at her waist like it belonged there. "To the point where she has remained by my side for over thirty yearsโฆ and showing no intention of leaving."
The younger Tom's eyes narrowed. "Still." He looked Tom up and down. "You've gone soft."
Y/N groaned. "Merlin, that's seriously your first thought?"
"Yes."
Y/N set her books down then folded her arms. "You know what?"
Tom immediately knew where this was going. The younger Tom did not.
Y/N pointed at her husband. "Do I need to list the reasons that's completely false?"
Tom looked mildly offended. "I don't believe that will be necessary."
Y/N ignored him.
The younger Tom tilted his head. "Name three."
Tom closed his eyes while Y/N smiled. "Easy."
She held up one finger. "First. You make me a Horcrux."
The younger Tom froze.
Tom immediately defended himself. "That was necessary."
Y/N turned toward him. "It was dramatic."
"It was strategic."
"It was reckless."
"It worked."
The younger Tom looked between them. "You made her a Horcrux?"
Tom nodded. "I did what I had to do."
The younger Tom looked impressed, which wasn't helping.
Y/N held up a second finger. "Second."
She pointed directly at Tom. "You baby trap me."
The younger Tom blinked once. โโฆI am aware,โ he said calmly.
โIโve met our kids,โ he added.
Y/N pointed at him. โDonโt call them ours quite yet. Youโre only a kid.โ
โI am sixteen.โ
โExactly.โ
From beside her, older Tom smirked faintly. โOur youngest is nearly your age.โ
The younger Tomโs jaw tightened. He didnโt like that, not at all. โโฆWhatโs the third?โ
Y/N's expression softened slightly. She lifted her left hand. The ring immediately caught the light.
The younger Tom's attention locked onto it, completely. Like nothing else existed.
Y/N noticed as Tom noticed her noticing. Neither commented, not immediately. "You've been staring at this since I walked in."
The younger Tom didn't deny it. "It prove's our future."
Y/N laughed.
Tom rolled his eyes.
The younger Tom finally looked away from the ring. "We get married."
"We do."
The boy nodded once then looked back at the ring, checking, confirming and making sure it was real.
Y/N smiled. "He charmed it."
The younger Tom immediately looked interested. "How?"
"It can never leave my finger."
The younger Tom looked impressed. "Clever."
"I know," Tom said immediately.
Y/N smacked his arm.
The younger Tom actually looked amused, which was a rare sight.
Then the classroom door opened again, Aurelia walked in and stopped. She looked at older Tom, then younger Tom, then her mother. "...Nope."
She immediately turned around.
Y/N blinked. "Aurelia?"
The girl paused. "I'll see Mum later." Then disappeared.
The younger Tom watched her leave.
Y/N pointed toward the doorway. "That's our daughter."
The younger Tom nodded. "I know."
Tom smirked. "Our youngest."
The younger Tom smiled. A real smile, sharp, dangerous yet satisfied. "Good."
Y/N groaned. "You're both impossible."
Y/N finally she lifted her wand. "Alright."
The younger Tom looked at her. "You'll see."
The older Tom frowned. "See what?"
The younger Tom ignored him his gaze remained fixed on Y/N then, very quietly, "I'll see you soon, love."
Older Tom's arm immediately tightened around Y/N's waist.
The younger Tom noticed and smirked. Then the spell activated, light flooded the room and the younger Tom faded.
But even as he disappeared his eyes remained on Y/N. Memorising. confirming and waiting. Then he was gone.
Silence settled over the classroom.
Y/N looked up at her husband.
Tom was staring at the spot his younger self had vanished from.
"You know," she said softly.
"Hm?"
"He wasn't wrong."
Tom looked at her as Y/N smiled. "You have gone soft."
Tom immediately scoffed. "I have not."
"You absolutely have."
Y/N laughed then kissed his cheek. The argument ended instantly. Which, unfortunately for Tom, only proved her point.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - Y/N jokingly tells Tom they should break up, expecting a reaction. Instead, Tom flatly refuses to believe her. Having seen enough of the future to know they end up together, he treats the idea as completely impossible. To him, a breakup simply doesn't fit reality, making Y/N's prank fail almost immediately.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ -requested by anon: "have you ever written a break up prank fic? i love ur writing and think it would be hilarious"
Y/N had thought it would be funny, that was the problem.
The entire prank had started because Mattheo had laughed and said, โYou know what would be hilarious? Pretend to break up with Tom.โ
In hindsight, taking relationship advice from Mattheo was always a terrible idea. Because now Y/N was standing in an empty classroom staring at her boyfriend.
Who was staring back. โโฆWhat?โ Tom asked.
Y/N almost backed out immediately. Almost. Instead she crossed her arms and forced herself to continue. โI think we should break up.โ
Silence.
Tom blinked, once, twice. Then, nothing. No anger, no argument, no reaction at all.
For about three seconds.
Then every door in the room slammed shut. The lock clicked. Several wards appeared across the walls.
Instead he started pacing, one end of the room, then the other. Then back again.
Y/N watched him but he kept pacing. โโฆTom.โ
Still nothing
His hands were folded behind his back now, which somehow made everything worse because that was what he did when he was thinking.
And Tom Riddle thinking was always dangerous.
Finally he stopped. โNo.โ
Y/N blinked.โโฆNo?โ
โNo.โ
โTomโโ
โNo.โ
โThomas.โ That got his attention immediately.
He turned toward her, looking genuinely confused. Like sheโd suggested something impossible. โMy future self didnโt tell me this.โ
Y/N froze.
Tom continued pacing.โYou and I are supposed to be together forever.โ
Y/N stared because Tom was serious. Entirely serious. โIโve met our children.โ
Y/Nโs stomach dropped because he had.
Mattheo, Delphini, Marvolo, Albus, The twins and even Aurelia. All of them.
Tom stopped again, his expression tightened. โIโve met all seven of them.โ
Y/N winced as Tom looked genuinely offended by reality itself. โNot one of them mentioned this.โ
โโฆTom.โ
โNot one.โ
โTom.โ
โI specifically asked.โ
โYou specifically interrogated them.โ
โSame thing.โ
Y/N covered her face. This had gone so much worse than sheโd expected.
Tom started pacing again.โYou donโt leave.โ
Y/N lowered her hands.โWhat?โ
โYou donโt.โ His voice was firm, he voice was certain. Like he was reciting a fact, like gravity, saying like the sky being blue. โYou stay.โ
Y/Nโs heart hurt a little. Because suddenly this wasnโt funny anymore. โMy love, I didnโt mean to hurt you. โ
Tom wasnโt angry. He was panicking, trying very hard not to, trying to solve it logically, trying to make reality fit what heโd already seen. โYou didnโt hurt me,โ he said immediately.
Which meant she absolutely had.
โYou didnโt.โ
โTomโโ
โIโve simply identified an inconsistency.โ
Y/N nearly laughed. Only Tom Riddle would call heartbreak an inconsistency.
Tom rubbed his forehead. โNo.โ There was that word again.
Then suddenly he stopped pacing, his eyes narrowed and Y/N watched the exact moment he convinced himself. โItโs a prank.โ
โโฆโ
Tom pointed at her. โItโs a prank.โ
Y/N blinked.โโฆTom.โ
โItโs obviously a prank.โ
โYou sound like youโre trying to convince yourself.โ
โI am not.โ
โYou are.โ
Tom ignored that. โItโs a prank.โ Then he nodded, once. Like heโd solved a difficult equation. โThatโs what this is.โ
Y/N looked at him. Looked at the boy she loved. The boy who had accidentally seen enough of the future to know she never left.
The boy who looked far too relieved to have found an explanation and suddenly she felt awful.โโฆIt is.โ
Tom immediately relaxed, not fully, but enough. โThere.โ
Y/N laughed weakly. โThere?โ
โThere.โ Tom looked pleased with himself, like heโd solved the mystery. โYou arenโt leaving.โ
Y/N shook her head. โNo.โ
โObviously.โ
Y/N smiled.
โObviously.โ
Tom looked vindicated, then crossed the room in about three strides. Wrapped his arms around her and refused to let go.
Y/N laughed. โTom.โ
โNo.โ
โWhat do you mean no?โ
โYou are staying right here.โ
โIโm literally in your arms.โ
โGood.โ
Y/N buried her face against his shoulder.
Tom tightened his hold slightly, as if making extra sure.
โYou know,โ she said quietly, โmost people wouldโve just been upset.โ
โI was upset.โ
โYou locked the door.โ
โI was thinking.โ
โYou warded the room.โ
โPrecautionary.โ
โYou paced for ten minutes.โ
โI was processing.โ
Y/N laughed harder.
Tom looked down at her, then sighed, โYou are not allowed to do that again.โ
โI know.โ
โI mean it.โ
โI know.โ
Tom narrowed his eyes. โYou frightened me.โ That made her pause because Tom rarely admitted things like that.
Y/N immediately reached up and cupped his face. โIโm sorry.โ
Tom leaned into her hand automatically. โI know.โ
โIโm not leaving.โ
โI know.โ Y/N smiled.
Tom stared at her for another second then finally kissed her forehead, long and lingering.
Still holding her. Still refusing to let go and Y/N suspected he wasnโt planning to let go for several hours.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - While reading and walking, Aurelia accidentally falls into the portal and meets her younger parents and instantly regrets everything.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ -wanted more portal fics.
Aurelia Riddle had one major advantage over all of her siblings. She never went looking for the portal.
Mattheo had, Delphini had and Marvolo definitely had. The twins had practically lived inside it. But Aurelia? Aurelia had grown up with it.
She'd seen every memory, every conversation, every ridiculous moment of her parents' relationship so many times she could probably perform the entire thing from memory.
Which was why she never bothered anymore.
Unfortunately, the portal apparently took that personally. Because one afternoon, while walking through Hogwarts with her nose buried in a book, Aurelia accidentally walked straight into it.
She didn't even notice at first, she turned a page and kept reading.
Turned another page, walked around a corner, then immediately walked into someone. "Sorry," Aurelia said automatically.
The other person said exactly the same thing.
Aurelia froze, slowly lowered her book and sighed. "...Of course."
Because standing in front of her was her mother. Except this Y/N looked seventeen, still in Hogwarts robes and just like her reading while walking.
Aurelia closed her eyes briefly. "Right."
Y/N blinked then tilted her head. "...Do I know you?"
Aurelia immediately recognised the expression. The same one she made whenever she was confused. "Oh, that's unfortunate."
"What is?"
Before Aurelia could answer, she backed up. Directly into someone else. A solid chest, hitting a prefect badge. And hearing a very familiar voice. "You've walked into two people in less than thirty seconds."
Aurelia looked up and sighed harder. "...Dad."
Young Tom Riddle blinked then frowned. Because apparently his genetics were stronger than expected.
Because the girl standing in front of him looked suspiciously familiar. Same eyes, same expression and same dramatic sigh.
And suddenly everything clicked, Tom closed his eyes. "...I can see that."
Aurelia pointed at him. "Don't."
"I haven't said anything."
"You figured it out."
"You called me Dad."
"Details."
From further down the corridor came another voice. "Love?"
Both Aurelia and Tom looked up as Y/N was walking toward them. One hand resting on her very pregnant stomach while the other balancing three books.
Aurelia immediately smiled because she'd seen this before. Many times.
Y/N stopped beside Tom, then looked at Aurelia. "...Aurelia?"
Aurelia groaned. "Seriously?"
Y/N stared. "You were five yesterday."
Aurelia rubbed her forehead. "That was six years ago."
"For you."
"Yes."
"For me it was yesterday."
"Unfortunately."
Y/N looked delighted while Tom looked resigned and Aurelia looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her. "I wasn't supposed to run into you."
Tom folded his arms. "I gathered that."
"I was trying to leave."
"You walked into us."
"I was reading."
Both parents immediately nodded. "Oh."
"That explains it."
Aurelia pointed. "See?"
Y/N laughed while Tom looked mildly offended pointing to his daughter. "You got that habit from her."
Y/N rolled her eyes, then looked at Aurelia again. Really looked and suddenly her expression softened. Because despite the age difference she knew this was her daughter.
Aurelia immediately recognised the look. The Mum Look, her emotional one. "No."
Y/N laughed. "I didn't say anything."
"You were about to."
"I was not."
"You absolutely were."
Tom looked between them, then nodded. "She was."
"Thank you."
"I regret helping."
Aurelia grinned while Y/N shook her head. Then reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind Aurelia's ear like it was pure instinct.
Aurelia immediately melted, then remembered she was supposed to be leaving.
She stepped backward. "Well."
Y/N smiled. "Well."
"Nice seeing you again."
Again.
Y/N narrowed her eyes.
Tom sighed. "Don't ask."
"I wasn't going to."
"Good."
Aurelia leaned forward and kissed her mother on the cheek, then her father. Tom froze still new to all this, while Y/N looked emotional.
Aurelia immediately regretted it. "Right." Then she picked her book back up, turned around and started walking.
Still reading, straight toward the portal. Like none of this had happened.
Y/N watched her go. "That's definitely our daughter."
Tom looked incredibly pleased, unfortunately. "Obviously."
Y/N rubbed her stomach absentmindedly because Mattheo kicked.
And Immediately. Tom's attention snapped downward. His hand moved to her stomach. "You need to sit."
"I'm fine."
"You've been standing."
"I've been standing for five minutes."
"Five dangerous minutes."
Y/N laughed. "You fuss too much."
"You are carrying my child."
"Our child."
"My point stands."
Y/N smiled fondly, then glanced back.
Aurelia was almost at the portal now.
Tom followed her gaze, then quietly murmured, "About thirty years, I think."
Y/N frowned. "What?"
"Nothing." Tom immediately looked innocent.
Y/N narrowed her eyes.
Tom guided her forward. "No questions."
Aurelia was walking while reading again. She turned a page, atepped forward and immediately collided with someone.
The first-year bounced back with a startled yelp. โOh! Sorry, Riddle.โ
Aurelia blinked slowly over her book. โโฆYou should be.โ
The boy froze, then slowly looked past her because standing twenty feet away was the actual Y/N Riddle. Very pregnant and very much not Aurelia.
The first-year looked back at Aurelia, then back at Y/N. Then back at Aurelia and somehow became even more confused.
Because now his brain was trying to solve several impossible problems at once.
The girl in front of him looked exactly like Y/N. But she wasn't pregnant. And she wasn't wearing Slytherin robes.
The boy looked at Aurelia wearing the Ravenclaw uniform.
The boy pointed at Y/N. "Lily?"
And she definitely wasn't Lily because Lily was a Hufflepuff.
He squinted. "You're wearing Ravenclaw robes."
Aurelia closed her eyes, briefly. "I am."
His face went completely white. "...I don't get it?"
The first-year looked like he was questioning reality. His brain visibly stopped functioning. "...Wait."
Aurelia sighed.
The first-year suddenly stepped back. โIโmโsorryโI think Iโm lost.โ
โYou are,โ Y/N confirmed gently.
โCompletely,โ Tom added.
Tom turned to his daughter. โTry not to walk into anyone else.โ
โI only walked into one person.โ
โThatโs one too many.โ
Aurelia decided she was done, she didn't lower her book. Didn't explain, didn't even look up. She simply sighed and lifted one finger.
The air beside her immediately shimmered and a familiar glowing doorway appeared beside her. The portal.
The first-year screamed. A loud, horrified, absolutely panicked scream.
Y/N immediately doubled over laughing.
Tom pinched the bridge of his nose.
The first-year pointed frantically at the portal, then at Aurelia, then at Y/N. Then at Tom.
His mouth opened, closed, opened again. Nothing came out.
Aurelia turned a page in her book, stepped through the portal and disappeared. The doorway vanished behind her.
Silence.
The first-year made a strangled noise, then another, then a third.
Tom sighed. Slowly withdrew his wand and before the boy could have what was clearly going to be a very unfortunate breakdown. "Obliviate."
The spell hit instantly, the first-year blinked. Looked around and then frowned."...Why am I standing here?"
"Wrong corridor," Tom said smoothly.
"Oh."
The boy nodded, just accepted that immediately and wandered off.
Y/N was still laughing.
Tom watched the student disappear around the corner before tucking his wand away. Then, without missing a beat, his attention returned exactly where it belonged.
To Y/N. more specifically to the hand resting on her stomach.
Mattheo kicked.
Tom immediately noticed. His expression softened instantly. "Did you feel that?"
Y/N smiled."Yes, love."
Tom moved closer automatically. One hand settling carefully against her stomach. The other hovering near her back. Just in case.
Y/N rolled her eyes fondly. "I'm fine."
"You were laughing."
"That's not dangerous."
"You nearly bent in half."
"I was laughing."
Tom looked unconvinced while Y/N laughed again. Which somehow made him more concerned. "Sit down."
"I'm not sitting down."
"You should."
"I'm perfectly fine." Tom was already guiding her toward the common room anyway.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ -Hermione calls Y/N as usual for their daily hour-long conversation. To Tom, it feels like heโs trying to survive without Y/Nโs full attention and still complains itโs too long, even though itโs only an hour.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - Because I literally came off from my one hour a day phone call to my sister.
Hermione's daily phone call had become such a routine that Y/N barely thought about it anymore.
Every evening, almost at the same time, her phone would ring.
Every evening, she and Hermione would spend roughly an hour talking about everything and nothing.
And every evening, Tom would act like that hour was a personal attack against him.
Today's call was no different.
Y/N was curled comfortably on the sofa, phone resting on speaker beside her as Hermione launched into what was apparently the latest chapter of her ongoing battle with Draco.
"...and then," Hermione was saying dramatically, "he reorganised the pantry."
Y/N blinked. "The pantry?"
"The entire pantry."
"Why?"
"Because apparently it wasn't organised correctly."
Y/N laughed. "That sounds exactly like Draco."
"I know!"
Meanwhile, Tom was right there with Y/N, holding her tightly against him, his arms wrapped firmly around her waist as if letting go wasnโt an option.
Y/N held the phone in one hand while the other was buried in Tomโs hair, absentmindedly stroking through it as she talked.
The effect was immediate Tom visibly relaxed, his shoulders loosening as his eyes drifted half-closed.
Hermione paused mid-rant, then sighed. "Speaking of husbands."
Y/N immediately knew where this was going.
"Where's yours?"
Y/N looked down while Tom looked up. There was a long pause. Because the answer was painfully obvious.
Tom was practically attached to her.
Y/N opened her mouth, already preparing some excuse. Maybe she'd say he was working, maybe she'd say he was reading.
"Here." Tom's voice cut through her thoughts.
Hermione burst into laughter so suddenly that Y/N nearly dropped the phone.
Tom frowned. "You were on speaker, Malfoy"
That only made Hermione laugh harder. "Really? Even when we were complaining about you?""
Tom looked mildly offended. "Especially then."
Y/N covered her face.
Tom glared at the phone for approximately two seconds before leaning forward and pressing a kiss against her shoulder. "I was here the whole time."
Hermione completely lost whatever composure she'd had left. "Oh, that's unbelievable."
Tom looked entirely pleased with himself as Y/N shook her head fondly. "You walked into that one, love."
Hermione took a moment to recover. Then she sighed dramatically. "I always forget how clingy you are."
Tom immediately looked offended. "I am not clingy."
"You absolutely are."
"I am affectionate."
"Riddle."
"I am."
Y/N laughed softly and resumed stroking his hair.
Instantly his expression softened again and he groaned, literally so loud that Hermione could hear it.
Hermione made a strangled noise. "There!"
"There what?" Y/N asked.
"That."
Hermione sounded horrified. "I literally heard him melt into you."
Tom didn't even bother denying it, he simply closed his eyes again.
Y/N smiled.
Hermione groaned. "You spoil him."
Tom opened one eye. "You say that like i'm one of our kids."
"You're acting like it."
Tom's gaze slowly shifted toward the phone. Then, without even sitting up, he reached toward the side table.
Y/N immediately noticed. "...Tom."
"What?"
"Why are you reaching for your wand?"
"I'm not."
He absolutely was. His fingers were already stretching toward it while he continued glaring at the phone because Hermione had personally insulted him.
"Tom."
"I'm simply considering my options."
Hermione's laugh exploded through the speaker. "Are you trying to hex a phone?"
"No."
A pause.
"Are you thinking about hexing it?"
Another pause.
"...Possibly."
Y/N immediately burst out laughing.
Tom looked up at her, mildly betrayed. "You're encouraging her."
"You were about to curse a phone."
Hermione sounded genuinely exasperated. "You've been married for over thirty years."
"Thirty-four," Tom corrected automatically.
"That wasn't the point."
"It was factually inaccurate."
Y/N buried her face in her hand.
Hermione groaned.
Tom looked entirely unapologetic.
"See?" Hermione said. "That's exactly the problem."
"What problem?"
"You enjoy correcting people."
"I enjoy accuracy."
"You enjoy being annoying."
Tom considered that, for a moment, Y/N actually thought he might argue.
Instead, he nodded slightly. "Fair."
The silence that followed was immediate.
Y/N stared at him.
Hermione stared through the phone somehow.
Tom looked confused. "What?"
"You admitted she had a point."
"I said one thing."
"You admitted Hermione was right."
"Let's not get carried away."
Y/N laughed so hard she nearly dropped the phone.
Tom's attention instantly shifted back to her again.
Hermione made another noise of disgust. "There it is."
"There what?" Y/N asked.
"The reason he's survived this long."
Tom smirked and Y/N smiled.
Tom looked entirely too pleased about that. Then, after a moment, he sighed heavily and buried his face against her stomach again. "I miss when these calls were shorter."
Y/N blinked. "They've always been an hour."
"I know."
His arms tightened slightly. "Still too long."
Hermione laughed so hard she started coughing.
Y/N shook her head, smiling as she kissed the top of Tom's head. The moment she did, he relaxed completely. Like that single gesture fixed every complaint he'd ever had.
Hermione watched the whole thing unfold through the speaker and groaned. "You're both impossible."
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - Y/N steps out of the bathroom to find Tom and Aurelia waiting for her in the corridor like itโs completely normal.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - lowkey part two to Breaking into the Bathroom.
The girls bathroom was, for once, peaceful.
Which meant Y/N could finally have some time alone, without someone knocking, calling her name, or dramatically declaring the end of the world outside the door.
She sighed in relief, adjusting the last strand, then stepped out.
Only to stop immediately because in the corridor outside stood two people, Aurelia and Tom.
Both waiting, both exactly where they would be.
Y/N blinked once. โโฆOf course.โ
Aurelia was leaning casually against the wall, arms folded, looking far too pleased with herself.
Tom, on the other hand, looked like he had been standing there the entire time without moving an inch, gaze already on the door like he could see through it.
Y/N softened instantly at the sight of them.
โOh, my love,โ she said warmly, looking at Aurelia. โWhy were you waiting outside for me? You know you couldโve just come in.โ
Aurelia tilted her head. โI have boundaries.โ
Tom rolled his eyes immediately.
Aurelia didnโt even look at him. โAnd I assume Dad wouldโve gotten impatient and just walked in anyway.โ
Y/N hummed. โMore than you know.โ
Tom didnโt deny it, he never did.
He simply stepped forward, taking Y/Nโs arm the moment she appeared. โThere you are,โ he said.
Y/N laughed. โLove, I was in the bathroom.โ
โFor far too long.โ
Aurelia immediately fell into step on Y/Nโs other side, like it had been planned. Because it basically had.
Y/N glanced between them, amused. โLove, really. You didnโt need to wait.โ
Tomโs grip didnโt loosen. โYou took longer than necessary.โ
โI fixed my hair.โ
โYou were gone eleven minutes.โ
Aurelia snorted. โHe started pacing after five.โ
โI did not,โ Tom said flatly.
Y/N looked at him. โYou absolutely did, didnโt you?โ
Tom said nothing, which was answer enough.
Aurelia smirked. โHe did.โ
Y/N sighed fondly. โMy clingy husband.โ
โI prefer attentive,โ Tom corrected.
Aurelia raised a brow. โClingy.โ
Tom shot her a look while Aurelia smiled sweetly back.
Y/N squeezed his arm gently. โWhat do you need, sweetheart?โ
Aurelia answered before he could. โNothing really,โ she said, sliding her hand into Y/Nโs free one.
Tom immediately went still.
Y/N blinked. โOh?โ
Aurelia looked up at her, completely innocent. โJust wanted to see you.โ
That did it. Y/Nโs expression softened so quickly it was almost unfair. โMy little Auriโฆโ she murmured, squeezing her hand back.
Aureliaโs thumb brushed lightly over her motherโs knuckles, like sheโd been doing it since she was small. Like sheโd never outgrown it.
Tomโs gaze narrowed slightly at the contact, not jealous exactly just intensely aware that his wife was being mildly stolen.
Aurelia leaned closer anyway, as if sensing it. โWhat?โ she asked, amused.
Tom didnโt answer. He just tightened his hold on Y/Nโs arm ever so slightly.
Y/N noticed immediately. โTom.โ
โI am walking you,โ he said simply.
โI can walk myself.โ
โNo.โ
Aurelia laughed. โThere it is.โ
Y/N looked between them both and shook her head, smiling. โYou two are impossible.โ
Aurelia squeezed her hand again. โHe started it.โ
โI did not,โ Tom said immediately.
โYou waited outside a bathroom,โ Y/N reminded him.
โI was ensuring safety.โ
Aurelia nodded. โFrom what? Soap?โ
Tom ignored her.
Y/N let out a soft laugh, shaking her head as they continued down the corridor together her arm in Tomโs, her hand in Aureliaโs.
Tom quietly guiding them like he couldnโt help himself.
Aurelia refusing to let go of her mother even for a second.
And Y/N, stuck happily in the middle of both of them, sighing like sheโd lost the argument before it even started.
โHonestly,โ she murmured, amused, โyou two are going to be the death of me.โ
Tom glanced at her. โUnlikely.โ
Aurelia nodded. โWeโd never let that happen.โ
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - Tom insists on calling Y/N โMrs Riddleโ despite her correcting him, revealing how firmly he already sees her as part of his future.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - Jesus, I queued this for 1am instead of 9:30pm.....goodness gracious me.
It started, as most things did with Tom Riddle, with absolute confidence and zero willingness to be corrected.
โYouโre late, Mrs Riddle.โ
Y/N stopped in her tracks, slowly turned around, and then sighed. โItโs Y/L/N.โ
Tom didnโt even look up from the book in his hands. โNo.โ
โIt is.โ
โIt isnโt.โ
โIt literally is my name.โ
That earned her a brief glance. Calm, patient and infuriatingly certain. โNot for long.โ
Y/N folded her arms. โWe are not married.โ
โNot yet.โ
She stared at him while he turned a page.
Y/N walked closer, stopping right in front of him. โDo you ever get tired of deciding my future without telling me?โ
โNo,โ Tom said simply.
โThatโs alarming.โ
โItโs efficient.โ
She narrowed her eyes. โSay it.โ
He paused.โโฆSay what.โ
โMy last name.โ
Tom looked at her like sheโd just asked him to solve something beneath him. Then, slowly, โRiddle.โ
Y/N blinked. โThatโs your last name.โ
โYes.โ
โItโs not mine.โ
โIt will be.โ
She pointed at him. โYou didnโt even hesitate.โ
โI donโt see the issue.โ
โThe issue is I have a surname.โ
โYou have potential.โ
โThat is not a surname.โ
Tom finally closed his book, leaning back slightly as he studied her like she was the only subject worth revising. โYouโve been that long enough.โ
โIโve been Y/L/N my entire life.โ
โExactly.โ
โThatโs notโwhat does that even mean?โ
โIt means itโs outdated.โ
Y/N scoffed. โYouโre impossible.โ
โAnd yet,โ he said, completely unbothered, โyouโre still here.โ
She opened her mouth then closed it again because unfortunately, that part was true.
Tom reached out then, catching her wrist lightly and tugging her closer, like it was the most natural thing in the world. โMy wife,โ he said again, almost thoughtfully.
Y/N groaned. โStop calling me that.โ
โWhy.โ
โBecause Iโm not.โ
โYou are in practice.โ
โIn practice?โ
โYes.โ
โThatโs not how marriage works.โ
โIt is how mine will.โ
Y/N stared at him. โYouโve called me every nickname in the bookโlove, darling, wife, Mrs Riddle but youโve never once acknowledged my actual last name.โ
Tom paused just slightly. โโฆI call Lily by your surname.โ
Y/N squinted. โYou call her Y/L/N?โ
โYes.โ
โThen you do know it exists.โ
Tom looked at her like she had missed the point entirely then, very slowly, he opened his mouth. โY/โโ
He stopped, frowned and tried again. โY/โฆโ
Silence.
Then he shook his head once, like the very concept was incorrect. โNo.โ
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - When Y/N starts staring at Tom's lips, he thinks he's about to get a kiss. Unfortunately for him, she's in the mood to cause problems.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - Forgot about this cute little rule they have, soโฆ yeah. I ended up writing more.
The Slytherin common room was unusually quiet. Which normally meant one thing.
Everyone was studying.
Unfortunately for Tom, it also meant Y/N had enough free time to become a menace.
Tom sat in his usual armchair near the fire with a book open in his lap. At least, he was trying to read.
Across from him, Y/N was staring, not subtly, not secretly. Just openly staring at him.
Tom ignored it for nearly three minutes, then five, then eight.
Finally he looked up and Y/N was still staring. More specifically at his lips.
Tom slowly lowered his book. "My eyes are up here, love."
Y/N blinked then immediately looked at his eyes. "Oh."
Tom smirked while Y/N rolled her eyes. "Don't flatter yourself."
"You've been staring at my mouth for ten minutes."
"I have not."
"You absolutely have."
"I was thinking."
"About my lips."
Y/N pointed at him. "See? That confidence is alarming."
Tom looked entirely pleased with himself then she did something dangerous. She leaned closer.
Tom immediately paused because she was close now. Very close. Close enough that her hair brushed his shoulder.
Close enough that most people would've assumed she was about to kiss him and honestly?
Tom assumed that too.
His gaze flickered briefly to her lips and Y/N noticed immediately. A smile appeared. The dangerous kind.
Tom narrowed his eyes. "No, my love."
"What?"
"I know that look."
"What look?"
"The one that means you're about to be annoying."
Y/N gasped dramatically. "Me?"
"Yes."
"Never."
Tom didn't believe that for a second and neither did anyone who knew her.
She leaned even closer.
Tom's attention was no longer on his book, or the common room. or anything else. Just her.
Y/N smiled sweetly then leaned back.
Tom stared.
Y/N burst out laughing. "You really thought I was going to kiss you."
Tom looked offended, deeply offended. "I did not."
"You did."
"I did not."
"You absolutely did."
Tom returned his attention to his book, very deliberately.
Y/N snorted. "Oh, you're sulking."
"I am reading."
"You are pouting."
"I do not pout."
"You do when I deny you affection."
Tom flipped a page violently making Y/N laughed harder. Now it was a game because they both knew the rules.
Tom always got the last kiss. Always.
Y/N could start them. But somehow, through determination, stubbornness, and occasionally magic, Tom always ended up getting the final one.
And now?
Now he wanted her to kiss him first. Which meant she wasn't going to.
Tom sighed, a long suffering sigh.
Y/N looked delighted. "I can hear your disappointment."
"Good."
"Oh?"
"Perhaps you'll develop guilt."
"I won't."
Tom finally closed his book, slowly and carefully. Like a man accepting defeat.
Then he leaned forward and kissed her, soft, brief and perfect.
Y/N smiled immediately. "There he is."
Tom rolled his eyes then she kissed him back, a quick kiss. A sweet one and the moment she pulled away.
Tom's eyes narrowed because Y/N was smiling. The mischievous smile.
The running-away smile.
"Do not, my love."
Y/N immediately stood so of course, Tom stood too. "You wouldn't."
She backed away. "I absolutely would."
"Y/N."
She grinned then turned and bolted.
Tom was faster he caught her before she'd taken three steps.
Y/N shrieked as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back against him. "Thomas!"
"You were running."
"You were chasing."
"You started it."
"You kissed me first."
Tom smirked. "And now I get the last one."
Y/N groaned then he kissed her again. Victorious, satisfied and entirely too pleased with himself.
Unfortunately, that was the exact moment the common room door opened.
Mattheo walked in, stopped and looked at them. Then immediately backed out again.
The door closed.
Silence.
The door reopened Mattheo returned with Draco and Blaise. "Everyone," Mattheo announced loudly, "I've found them."
Draco looked disgusted, Blaise looked tired and Tom looked murderous so of course Y/N started laughing.
Mattheo pointed dramatically. "They're doing the thing again."
"What thing?" asked a younger student.
"The kissing thing."
"We don't have a thing."
"You absolutely have a thing."
Draco folded his arms. "It genuinely makes me ill."
"Then leave."
"I live here."
Blaise nodded. "Unfortunately, we've all been forced to witness this relationship."
Mattheo pointed at Tom. "He was smiling."
The common room gasped because Tom looked horrified. "I was not."
"You were."
"He was," Draco confirmed.
"It was awful," Blaise added.
"Like seeing a niffler pay taxes."
Tom closed his eyes briefly. Y/N was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes.
Mattheo pointed again. "And then she ran."
"Because he's annoying."
"And then he chased her."
"Because she's annoying."
"True," Mattheo admitted.
Y/N looked offended.
Tom looked smug.
Then Mattheo pointed dramatically at them both. "You deserve each other."
And Tom simply pulled Y/N closer because regardless of the audience. Regardless of the teasing, regardless of his brother's suffering.
He'd gotten the last kiss and judging by Y/N's exasperated smile he would continue making sure he always did.
sorry iโve been a bit quiet the last couple of days just been way too tired and my brain has been refusing to cooperate lol
but iโm back now and iโm going to try and release a couple of fics tonight!!! no promises on how many, but weโre definitely trying to be productive again.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - Tom and Y/N attempt to enter the Ravenclaw common room after Y/N correctly answers the riddle, only to discover that being right isnโt enough to gain entry.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - obviously this happened lol.. and this is part two to good night visit.
The Ravenclaw corridor was quiet again, but not for long.
Tom stood at the foot of the bronze eagle door like he had every right to be there which, in his mind, he did.
Y/N stood beside him, still half-amused, half-confused, tugging her coat tighter around herself.
โThis is unnecessary,โ she said.
โYou solved it instantly,โ Tom replied.
โThat doesnโt mean I need to prove anything.โ
โIt does to me.โ
Y/N looked up at him. โYouโre competitive with a door.โ
โI am not competitive,โ he said calmly. โI am thorough.โ
The eagle above them shifted slightly, its metallic gaze sweeping over them, then came the riddle. โWhat cannot be seen, but makes all things clearer?โ
Y/N barely paused. โTruth,โ she said immediately.
Silence.
The eagleโs eyes glinted.
Tom went still for half a second.
โโฆCorrect,โ the door confirmed.
The bronze mechanism clicked but it didnโt open, instead, it remained firmly shut.
Y/N blinked. โOh.โ
Tom exhaled slowly through his nose. โRavenclaw logic.โ
Y/N turned her head to him, trying very hard not to laugh. โSo I got it right.โ
โYou did.โ
โAnd it still wonโt open.โ
โYes.โ
She tilted her head. โBecause Iโm not a Ravenclaw.โ
โCorrect.โ
A beat.
Then Y/N burst out laughing.
Tom did not.
He just stared at the door like it had personally offended him. โI donโt understand the purpose of a correct answer that leads to nothing,โ he said flatly.
โTo teach patience,โ Y/N said, still laughing.
โThat is inefficient.โ
โItโs charming.โ
โItโs irritating.โ
She nudged him lightly. โYouโre taking this very personally.โ
โI donโt like unanswered systems,โ he replied.
โYou mean you donโt like being wrong.โ
โI was not wrong.โ
Y/N grinned. โYou were wrong-adjacent.โ
Tomโs expression darkened slightly. โThat is not a term.โ
โIt is now.โ
Before he could respond, a voice behind them cut through the corridor. โโฆMum?โ
Y/N froze.
Tom turned his head slowly.
Aurelia stood a few steps away in her Ravenclaw robes, hair slightly messy like sheโd clearly been ready for bed, holding the door open just enough to peek out.
Her expression said everything. โYouโre outside my common room,โ she said slowly.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - On her first night at Hogwarts, Aurelia receives a quiet visit from her father, Tom Riddle, who comes to check on her and say goodnight despite acting like a protective parent rather than a professor.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - soo cute. there's a part two it still didn't open. - these two fics may or may not be the entire reason I made baby!auri a ravenclaw lol.
It was Aureliaโs first night at Hogwarts, and the castle felt too big in a way she hadnโt quite admitted out loud yet.
The Ravenclaw corridor was quieter than she expectedโless eerie, more like the whole tower was simply holding its breath around her.
She was just about to change into her night robe when there was a knock at the door.
Not loud, not urgent. Justโฆ familiar.
Aurelia opened it immediately.
And there he was.
Tom Riddle, standing in the Ravenclaw entrance like it was the most normal thing in the world for the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor to be waiting outside his daughterโs dormitory.
His gaze softened the moment he saw her. โYouโre still awake,โ he noted.
โI live here now,โ she replied, as if that explained everything.
โI am aware.โ
Then Tom reached out and gently brushed a hand over her hair, smoothing it back in that absent, precise way he always did when checking she was real and intact.
โI came to say good night,โ he said quietly.
Aurelia narrowed her eyes immediately. โYouโre not putting another protective charm on me, are you?โ
โNo.โ
She squinted harder. โYou already did.โ
A faint smirk tugged at his mouth. โAccurate.โ
โDad.โ
He leaned down slightly and kissed the top of her head anyway, unbothered. โIt is precautionary.โ
โIt is excessive.โ
โIt is efficient.โ
Aurelia sighed dramatically. โYouโre supposed to be the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.โ
โAnd?โ he asked.
โAnd youโre acting like a paranoid parent.โ
Tom didnโt even pretend to be offended. โI am your father.โ
Aurelia paused. โโฆTrue.โ
She stepped back slightly, leaning against the doorframe as if suddenly remembering something important. โDid you solve the riddle?โ she asked.
That made him stop, just for a second.
Then Tomโs expression tightened ever so slightly. โOur name is literally Riddle.โ
โYes.โ
โAnd I cannot solve that one.โ
Aurelia grinned immediately. โSo you got it wrong.โ
โI did not get it wrong,โ he said calmly.
โYou did.โ
โI answered logically.โ
โThatโs not the same thing.โ
A beat.
Then Aurelia added lightly, โThe answer was silver.โ
Aurelia laughed softly. โMum got it instantly.โ
That finally made him exhale, a small, resigned sound. โOf course she did,โ he muttered.
Aurelia smiled at that softer now. โYouโre not actually annoyed, are you?โ
Tom looked at her for a long moment, then reached out again, brushing his thumb lightly over her cheek. โNo,โ he said quietly. โI am pleased you are here.โ
That made something in her expression soften immediately. โIโm not far,โ she said.
โI know,โ he replied.
But he still looked at her like he was memorising the distance anyway. Then he stepped closer, and kissed her head again slower this time, lingering just a second longer.
โGood night,โ he said softly.
Aurelia smiled. โGood night, Dad.โ
And as he turned to leave, she called after him lightly, โTry not to think about the riddle all night.โ
Tom paused just enough to be guilty, then continued walking. โโฆNo promises.โ
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - After years of calling Y/N โloveโ and โwife,โ Tom still hasnโt officially asked her out. Y/N finally confronts him in front of half the school, forcing the most chaotic almost-proposal Hogwarts has ever seen.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - literally saw a scene from ben 10 and wrote this omg...
The entire school knew Tom Riddle was obsessed with Y/N. At this point, it wasn't even gossip anymore. It was a documented fact.
The professors knew, the students knew and the ghosts probably knew.
Tom followed her everywhere, he waited for her outside classes. He walked her to meals and he somehow always appeared wherever she was.
There was the unfortunate incident where he'd hexed Harry after Harry had attempted to ask Y/N to Hogsmeade.
Tom still claimed it was unrelated, nobody believed him.
Especially not Y/N.
Which was why she was currently marching directly toward him with the expression of someone who had finally reached their limit.
Across the courtyard, Mattheo, Draco, and Blaise immediately noticed.
"Oh, this should be good," Blaise said.
Mattheo sat up straighter while Draco looked delighted.
Tom looked up from where he was sitting beneath a tree. The moment he saw Y/N approaching, his expression softened. "There you are, love."
Y/N stopped and pointed at him. "That."
Tom blinked."...Pardon?"
"That."
Tom looked genuinely confused. "You're going to need more words, love."
"That!" she repeated.
Tom glanced down at himself, then back up. Still confused.
Y/N sighed dramatically. "How many girls do you call 'love'?"
Tom frowned. "It's a nickname."
"You only use it on me."
Tom didn't answer, which was answer enough.
Y/N folded her arms. "In fact, most of the time you call me your wife."
A slow smirk appeared, noticeably and he did not deny it.
Y/N stared at him and Tom stared back.
Then she sighed "Why haven't you asked me out?"
Tom froze. "Pardon?"
"Why. Haven't. You. Asked. Me. Out?"
Tom blinked, once, then twice. "What?"
Y/N threw her hands into the air. "You call me love."
Silence.
"You call me your wife."
More silence.
"We spend all our time together."
He just watches her.
"You obviously like me."
Tom looked away, which was suspicious. Then his eyes narrowed because he'd suddenly noticed something.
Mattheo, Draco, and Blaise were watching the entire thing. Not even trying to hide it. Mattheo actually had the audacity to wave. Tom's glare immediately sharpened.
Mattheo only laughed harder.
Y/N pointed dramatically. "See? You don't normally deny it."
Tom sighed. "I wasn't denying it."
"You've literally told me you like me."
"Several times."
"Exactly!"
From across the courtyard Mattheo shouted, "It's pretty obvious, brother!"
Tom looked ready to commit a crime.
Y/N continued anyway. "You look at me like I hung the stars."
Tom immediately looked back at her. "Hung the stars?"
"Yes."
His expression softened instantly. "Oh."
Y/N blinked. "Oh?"
"That's nice."
She stared. "That's the part you're responding to?"
"Yes."
She groaned. "You follow me around."
"I walk with you."
"You wait outside the girls' bathroom."
"For safety."
"You hexed Harry."
"He annoyed me."
"He asked me out."
"He annoyed me."
Mattheo was crying laughing now.
Y/N pointed at Tom. "See?"
Tom remained completely calm. "You have a point?"
"Yes!" She stepped closer, very close. Close enough that Tom stopped smiling because now he looked nervous.
And that almost never happened.
Y/N took a breath. "I like you."
Tom swallowed.
Across the courtyard three boys collectively lost their minds.
Draco nearly fell off the bench. Blaise made a noise somewhere between a gasp and a wheeze and Mattheo looked like Christmas had arrived early.
Tom ignored them, mostly.
Y/N stepped even closer. "So I'm asking again."
Tom stared at her then slowly said, "That's a problem."
"A problem?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
His mouth twitched. "Because you're asking me."
Y/N blinked."...What?"
Tom straightened. "Only a gentleman asks."
"when?"
Tom stood. "Fine."
And before Y/N could stop himโHe dropped onto one knee.
The entire courtyard exploded, students screamed.
Mattheo fell off the bench. Draco yelled something incoherent and Blaise physically sat down.
Y/N stared. "What are you doing?"
Tom casually brushed invisible dust off his trousers. Then charmed the ground beneath him spotless. "What does it look like?"
"It looks like you're proposing!"
Tom looked confused. "Yes."
"No."
He frowned. "You said you liked me."
"I asked you to ask me out"
"You already are my wife."
Y/N stared. "No, I'm not."
"You accepted the title years ago."
"I did not"
"You never corrected me."
"That doesn't count."
"It absolutely counts."
She looked horrified. "You skipped an entire relationship."
"I streamlined the process."
Mattheo was dying, actually dying holding his heart laughing.
Tom pointed at Y/N. "So you're rejecting me?"
"No."
"Excellent."
"I'm rejecting the proposal."
Tom looked wounded. "So you don't want to be my wife?"
"Not yet."
The entire courtyard heard that.
Y/N immediately covered her face. "Oh my God."
Tom looked delighted. "Interesting."
"Stop it."
"So not never."
"Tom."
"Just not yet."
"Tom."
His smirk widened and Y/N wanted to throw herself into the lake.
Tom looked entirely too pleased, then he said, "We've known each other six years."
"I've known your brother six years too."
Tom immediately turned, Mattheo stopped laughing and immediately put his hands up in an instant surrender. "Brother, let's not do anything rash."
Tom kept staring while Mattheo looked genuinely concerned.
Y/N pointed at Tom. "See? That's weird."
"He deserved it."
"I didn't even say anything!"
"You implied it."
Mattheo looked outraged. "I absolutely did."
Tom nodded. "Exactly."
Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose. "I wanted you to ask me out."
Tom finally sighed, then stood up. "Fine."
"Thank you."
"As a gentleman."
She snorted.
Tom ignored that then took her hand, looked directly at her and asked, "Will you go out with me?"
There was a pause, a long pause then she closed her eyes. "Oh merlin, finally."
The entire courtyard erupted.
Tom looked offended.
Y/N grabbed his face and kissed his cheek.
Tom froze. Completely, utterly, frozen.
Mattheo immediately pointed. "Look!"
Draco was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe and Blaise looked emotional.
Y/N smiled.
Tom was still frozen.
"...Tom?"
Nothing.
"...Tom?"
Still nothing.
Then slowly, very slowly a smile appeared. Small, rare but real.
And Mattheo immediately groaned."Oh no."
"What?" Draco asked.
Mattheo pointed. "He's happy."
The three boys looked horrified.
Meanwhile Tom never took his eyes off Y/N. "Good."
Y/N blinked. "Good?"
"You said yes."
She laughed. "I did."
Tom nodded. "Excellent."
Then after a pause. "Can I start planning the proposal again?"
just realised iโve been writing aurelia as a baby for over six months at this rate sheโs never getting to hogwarts. Like genuinely, this child has been two years old forever because i keep getting distracted by cute family fics and refusing to let her age.
Sooo i think it might finally be time to age her up a little and actually start writing more Hogwarts-era Aurelia. Mind you, this does not mean baby!Auri is disappearing because letโs be realโฆ i can always randomly post baby Aurelia fics whenever i feel like it lol.
I have quite a few aurelia drafts sitting around that i never posted and honestly? iโm looking at them thinking, you know what, i might as well release them lol. So if you suddenly see an increase in aurelia content laterโฆ thats why..
sooo iโm going to skip ahead a little aka weโre bypassing a few fics, including baby girlโs sorting ceremony.
spoiler alert: sheโs a Ravenclaw. now that weโve got that out of the way, the first few Hogwarts-era Aurelia fics iโm planning to post will actually make a lot more sense lol.

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ - Y/N secretly shows Mattheo her childhood muggle home and gives it to him as a safe place to hide from the war and his father.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - iโve literally been thinking about this for months ๐ญ this fic has been sitting in my drafts for what feels like ages. itโs a pretty vulnerable one and i genuinely love matty so muchโฆi even talked about it with my girl @jo1818 sooo yeahโฆ i finally got the motivation to edit it and actually post it bcus you know someone pissed me off earlier today..
The house was quiet in a way that didnโt belong to war. Not yet, anyway.
Mattheo, Delphini, and Marvolo tumbled through the portal like it had spat them out mid-breath.
Three small, disoriented silhouettes in the hallway of a place none of them recognised.
A muggle house that felt warm and light. A softness that felt almostโฆ impossible in their world.
They ducked instantly. Hidden behind the hallway corner just as voices carried from deeper inside.
Mattheo peeked first and froze.
Because there she was, their mother. Y/N.
Heavily pregnant, one hand resting at her lower back as she walked ahead, opening doors one by one like she was guiding someone through something sacred rather than just a building.
The kitchen, the sitting room and a small garden out back.
And behind her their uncle Mattheo, who looked confused and cautious, watching her like he didnโt know what she was doing but trusted her anyway.
Hidden in the hallway, the children watched in silence. Mattheo swallowed tightly, not taking his eyes off the scene.
Delphini shifted a little closer behind him, curiosity getting the better of her despite herself.
Marvolo didnโt move at all just stared at their mother like she might vanish the moment he blinked.
Inside the room, their mother finally stopped in the hallway and turned back.
โWhy are you showing me this place?โ their uncle asked, arms folded.
Y/N didnโt hesitate. โBecause this is yours.โ
Mattheo blinked. โโฆWhat?โ
Y/N stepped closer to him, softer now. Familiar in a way that made something in the watching boyโs chest ache. โYouโre my brother,โ she said simply.
He scoffed on instinct. โBrother-in-law. You married my brother.โ
She rolled her eyes fondly. โMy best friend.โ
That made him pause, just for a second. โโฆThatโs better, darling girl.โ
Y/N laughed softly inside the memory. โDonโt get sentimental on me.โ
โIโm not.โ
โYou are.โ
โIโm calculating how much this house is worth.โ
โThatโs worse.โ
Mattheo finally looked around properly then. Not just at her but at the house.
The wards woven into the structure like invisible thread. The careful placement of protections. The quiet intention behind every room.
His expression shifted. โWhy me?โ he asked more seriously now. โWhy give me this?โ
Y/N didnโt hesitate with one hand rested over her stomach as she leaned against the doorframe. โBecause you need somewhere they wonโt find you,โ she said quietly.
Silence settled between them.
Then, softer but certain she added, โSomewhere I know youโll be safe.โ
Mattheo let out a faint, humourless huff. โAre you saying you care about me, darling girl?โ
Y/N didnโt even hesitate. She just looked at him like the answer shouldโve always been obvious. โI do,โ she said simply.
Mattheo didnโt answer immediately but because he couldnโt help himself, he muttered, โIโm telling Pans.โ
Y/N didnโt even blink. โWhat?โ
โIโm telling her you called me your best friend.โ
She stared, then burst out laughing. โOh my God.โ
โI heard it,โ he insisted, pointing at her like it was evidence in a trial.
โBesides, you did name your firstborn after me,โ he said casually.
โThereโs still time for me to change my mind,โ she replied without missing a beat.
โYou better not.โ
From behind them, hidden just out of sight, the kids immediately scoffed.
Delphini leaned slightly toward the others. โYou shouldโve.โ
Mattheo shot her a look. โHeyโdonโt encourage that. Theyโre talking about me.โ
Marvolo tilted his head thoughtfully. โI could make it so she actually does change her mind.โ
Both Delphini and Mattheo turned slowly to glare at him.
โโฆFocus,โ Delphini muttered.
And all three of them went very still again, listening in harder than before.
And for the first time in what felt like forever their uncle looked lighter. โYouโre ridiculous,โ he said quietly.
โYouโre welcome,โ she replied.
Behind them the children stayed perfectly still. Watching, understanding without fully understanding. That this wasnโt just a conversation.
It was a lifeline being handed over.
Mattheo swallowed hard, looking away like it hurt to look too long. โโฆMumโs going to make me emotional,โ he muttered.
Delphini glanced at him. โYou're just like him.โ
Marvolo didnโt say anything, but he didnโt look away.
Then suddenly the air changed.
A pressure at the edges of the wards, sharp, familiar and unmistakable.
Mattheo stiffened. โThatโsโโ
โTom,โ Y/N said softly.
He immediately softened, stepping in close and pressing a quick kiss to her forehead. โIโll be alright,โ he murmured. โGo on, I can handle it.โ
Y/N smiled at him like she always did. โYou always say that,โ she replied softly.
โAnd I always mean it,โ he said.
He gave a small nod, as if sealing the moment into place. โThank you.โ
Then she turned.
And the children barely had time to move further back into shadow as she walked out of the house.
Delphini grabbed Marvoloโs sleeve instinctively while Mattheo didnโt move at all.
Outside, Tom was already there calm, controlled and entirely focused on Y/N.
His eyes went straight to her the moment she appeared like she was the only thing in the world that mattered enough to track.
โYouโre not where you were supposed to be,โ he said evenly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in her surroundings.
A moment passed before his voice deepened, more protective now. โโฆWhy are you in the Muggle world?โ
โThere were things I needed to take care of,โ she replied.
Tom stepped closer, hand brushing her cheek in that familiar grounding way like he was confirming she was okay. โCome on,โ he murmured. โLetโs go back to the cabin.โ
Y/N hesitated, just for a second. Her gaze flicked back through the window.
To the house, where Mattheo was finally safe again after so long.
Y/N let out a soft breath. โโฆYeah,โ she said quietly. โIโm coming.โ
