If we can’t find any useful or interesting classes that you can squeeze in, maybe we should recruit Layla to share some of her wisdom. Well, he’s definitely has his work cut out for him, doesn’t he?
If we ask Layla to help, I don't think she'd leave our apartment until we became top notch cookers. She's probably love it too so that's always an option. He does, especially because I don't like leftovers so he's gonna have to make it taste amazing.
I gotta say, working overtime this past week has been fuckin’ hell, but my wallet will be so fat by the end of the month. You know what I’m blowing it on too.
What is your characters name? Does the character have a nickname?
Skye Anderson. She doesn't really have any nicknames, she's always just Skye. She doesn't like when people try to give her a nickname either.
Who are your characters friends and family? Who does she surround herself with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who does he wish he were closest to?
She's friends with nearly everyone in the building. Skye tends to surround herself with anyone even if they're not friends whenever she's out and about in the city. Her mother is the only family she has since her father left. Skye isn't particularly close with anyone anymore. But she does wish she was close to Wesley again.
Where was your character born? Where has she lived since then? Where does she call home?
Skye was born right here in Manhattan, started going to school here, and made friends here. She's never really left over than taking trips with her mom in the past to nearby states. Skye's home is always in the middle of a party, the only place she feels alive and loved.
Where does your character go when he’s angry?
When Skye is angry, she'll usually go out. Which is what she does for practically everything, but she can be a bitch when she's angry and she'd rather not turn it on her friends.
What is her biggest fear? Who has she told this to? Who would she never tell this to? Why?
Her biggest fear is being alone. She's never told anyone since she was really good at hiding it and keeping herself with people around. She does worry that someone will walk in on her if she has an anxiety attack from being alone. She'd never tell Bethany, not wanting someone to jab at her because of it.
Does she have a secret?
Other than being afraid of being alone and the silence, she's very conflicted about the boys in her life and doesn't know what to do. She tries to play it cool, but she has no idea what she's doing.
When has your character been in love? Had a broken heart?
Skye won't admit it openly, but she was falling in love with Wesley quickly and it scared her. She broke her own heart when she broke his heart. She doesn't want to commit to anyone if it means getting hurt.
What is in your characters refrigerator right now? On her bedroom floor? On her nightstand? In her garbage can?
Leftover food, take-out, and probably a bunch of sodas and orange juice. Whatever is in the fridge, is in the fridge. Her bedroom floor is spotless, Skye doesn't like when her room is messy. On her nightstand, she just has a lamp and two of her favorite books. Her garbage can is empty, she's never around enough to have to throw things away.
Its Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Give details. If hes eating breakfast, what exactly does he eat? If shes stretching out in her backyard to sun, what kind of blanket or towel does she lie on?
Saturday at noon, Skye is probably out in the city, giving coffee, and walking the streets filled with people. She'll have a smile on her lips and feel completely at ease. Skye will walk and walk, not really paying attention to where she's going until she runs out of coffee. That's when she'll get another one at a busy cafe and then look up the next party from her connections.
What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
Her mother crying. Skye can't ever really forget hearing or seeing her mother cry after her dad left. It stuck with her because she didn't want to become like that.
Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with?
Skye is always going to the best party happening that night and she'll pull on her best dresses that are saved just for parties. She doesn't really invite anyone from the apartment, she's usually off on her own with the 'friends' that she's made outside of the group to get her into parties and keep her from being alone.
I think Layla might begin to worry about our habit with that though. It was decided upon when he found out that I didn't like leftovers and there's plenty of leftover food so, he's gonna make a leftover feast and prove to me that leftovers are good. We probably should, so...you should start looking!
Oh god, no! I don’t even understand why such intense cooking classes for amateurs even exist. I don’t have Top Chef expectations, nor patience, but learning a few basics would be nice.
I think if we can get past the whole burning thing, we might be able to make decent food. We could always just keep living off take-out. No complaints here with that. Oh! But West is suppose to come over to make a Thanksgiving leftover feast so learning a few things from him might be a good idea.
Ah, such a shame. I'm sure you have plenty of good ones if you do get out. I wouldn't mind bringing you along one of these days. I'll find the best one and I'll make sure to invite you.
We should take a cooking class together sometime. At the very worst we have new horror stories to tell, and at the very best I won’t have to disable the smoke alarm before each time I try to get fancy in the kitchen.
That sounds like a pretty good idea, actually. I mean, I can fit it into my schedule as long as it isn't like an intense eight hour cooking class. We might actually be able to make food for the others.
What were you goin’ say, huh? That I treat him like shit? Newsflash, I wouldn’t do that to the one person in this entire fucking world that I care about. I would never intentionally do that. Unless he got me angry. Then I might blow up on him a little.
I wasn't going to say that but from what I've seen, you two aren't all buddy buddy lately! You think I don't care about him, that I don't regret that I did and you're wrong. Get the hell over yourself, Beth, okay? And maybe you wanna rethink your approach with people because your attitude is why no one likes you!
