i love x-files aus bc it's always fun to see how the author justifies mulder and scully still lastnaming each other despite the changes in their circumstances. like, it's easy with mulder bc he canonically hates his first name, but scully has no such reservations so you always gotta stretch a bit. it's always extremely valid btw, if i had to read an entire fic where they call each other fox and dana the whole time, i'd shrivel up into a damn andie raisin.
